Nice big playground with lots for the kids to jump on, climb up, and slide down. The path around the lake is an added bonus to calm down from the playground. Will definitely head back with our kiddos.

Trail around the lake was well maintained and wide enough for people to pass by. The walk around the lake is long enough for a nice work out, especially with the dogs.

Great walking or biking path around a very nice large pond. Theres an amazing number of turtles (we counted 136u, a very patient heron, and good fishing. Most of the trail is shaded and well cared for!

Shadyside is fun no matter what age you are! There are trails around the beautiful lake. An awesome playground. A wonderful Veterans memorial . And 2 baseball diamonds.

Not as safe as it could be but it is pretty. Kayaking is a good beginner level here.

We just wanted to take the dogs for a good walk and enjoy the colors of fall. The temperature was about 57° sun was shining, great day!

It has everything I needed for a nice walk with my dog. Nice well kept places to walk.

Awesome place to play with my grandchildren and take a nature walk. Or just take a healthy walk/ jog myself around the trail. Or spend the day fishing.

The landscaping was great, they re-modeled the bathrooms. Very nice!

This is my favorite park by far. It is absolutely gorgeous and I have many fond memories. Out of all the parks ive been to, which is a lot, this one is the best.

Beautiful park flr fishing or just walking

My dog and I spend a lot of time here during every season. No matter when we go the trails are clean and for the most part, well lot and paved. Theres lots of native plants and trees, birds and wildlife, and we love it. Whether were walking around the lake or hanging out around the memorial, we always have a good time.

Trash everywhere. So sad locals dont take care of their park.

Ok Park needs some better upkeep

Broderick, buddy... Come on. Limbs need cut back. Entire picnic tables are engulfed in these heavy trees creating a mosquito infested environment. Im not asking for new sidewalks or fancy bathrooms... Get some jail birds to volunteer out there cutting limbs or something. This is Anderson. Were a big city. With a lot of people. We can do better. I loved this park as a kid and still do and pick up trash when Im there to do my part. You do your part now. Keep it nice. Please. We dont have a lot the way it is. Just try. Thats all we ask man.

I was surprised at how many people were there. Weather was bad but temperature was good. Had a very good time. Kids cant hardly move. Ha Ha

Had a lot of moss on the walk area for the kids. Could be an accident waiting to happen.

The walking trail is pleasant.

Nice park, play equipment is a little on the older side but there is handicap access and plenty of shade.

Shadyside brings a lot of families and friends together. Whether gathered around the ball field, playgrounds, cooking out or walking the trails... You will love the park. If you havent been all around shadyside, please take the time to check it out!

One of my favorite places in all of Anderson. The city needs to manage the plants around the Oriental Gardens a little better, but other than that, quite wonderful.

They have a lot of toys, but a lot needs repair!

Favorite park in Anderson with boating and fishing, many walking/ running trails, a great playground with picnic area, and great spots for outdoor weddings.

We went in October and took family pictures there. The trees fall colors were breathtaking.

Nice.... But needs to be blocked off at night... Got people sleeping in park... Needles found.... Not the best place at night!

Its still a beautiful park with a lot of fun equipment for the kids to play on, BUT; there are several of the the safety plastic windows where the plastic is shattered and sharp pieces are sticking up. No warning, nothing blocking them. Looks quite dangerous and needs to be addressed ASAP.

Nice atmosphere

Go in the daytime. It’s not safe after dusk. The playground is nice for little ones, and I always enjoyed walking the paved trail around Shadyside Lake. But only during the day.

People dont pay attention on the trail to others moving faster than they are. Nice scenery.

The park is known for having a bad rep especially in the late 90s and early 2000s. The park now seems to be a lot nicer than it was. It is a great park to bring children, however I would still keep close watch on them because it is not in the greatest part of Anderson

This a great place to take the family and good walks with your doggies. Has a playground too for the kitties.

Great place for kids

Although the playground is great for children, the memorial side needs repair and the Terrace Garden needs repairs from Vandals who have spray painted on it. The park needs video surveillance or a dedicated park ranger to keep vandals out and suppress any predator threat.

Shadyside has several play grounds for kids that mostly maintained. There are a few that you need to watch your kids on as they do have broken parts. The walking paths are set up in loops that go around the ponds in the park. There are pavilions you can rent for events. Park is not the cleanest but that has alot to do with people care for the park when they are there. Please remember to pick up after your group.

Great for birding

My girls had fun.. the park its self is nice needed cleaned up but it was the first nice day outside so i would expect a little mess but i was more up set with all the people smoking everywhere at the tables in the middle of the play area or just walking around were the kids are running and playing and people are smoking!! Im sure smoker myself but i smoked before we left the house ( outside on my porch) and Ill smoke when i get back home i dont need to be pushing my baby stroll around smoking around other peoples kids!! When i didnt smoke around my own kids!!

They have completely given up on this park. No one takes care of it. Some idiot even stole the teter-toter.. really Anderson?!

Plexi glass has been fixed and new mulch laid. With the recent showers the overgrowth is popping up but no need for complaint yet.

It is a good place to bring your kids and have fun. There is a wedding stand. Your kids can also play at the baseball diamond if there isnt a game going on. In the winter the hill by prairie farms is a good hill to go sledding down
