Accessible from both sides of the river and connected (obviously) by a bridge. A mix of art installations and some signs describing various parts of the areas history line the entire span. The north side abuts the main CSX freight line, so trains pass frequently and can be loud; among the children, the reaction to the trains was mixed. Most amenities are found on the north side, including a small playground (open), public restroom (closed) and boat ramp. Downtown Amsterdam is accessible via a purpose built bridge over the tracks.

Beautiful view of river and great place to walk. The 911 Memorial is also a good reminder of Who We are, the United States and more importantly New Yorkers!

The Bridge to no where. Beautiful park over the river. Nice views but nothing around it.....no restaurants or shops. Lovely 9/11 memorial.

Nice to see a small upstate NY town invest in this type of outdoor space and create a great way cross over the highway. Freight train rolls by very close and quite loud.

This is a nice park with a couple of different pedestrian bridges (one over the canal and one over the train tracks). There is a small playground and plenty of space for a stroll.

Great park... fun concerts, fireworks and festivals! There is even a little restaurant there to grab some food out on the deck in the summer.

My kids and I love this park. There’s a fun walk over the highway and train tracks on a pedestrian bridge which the kids just love. Once in the park, you are right on the river. When they have free concerts in the summer, it’s a great place to come as a family and let the kids dance and play on the playground, while we get to listen to some great music and take in the gorgeous views. There’s another pedestrian bridge that crosses the river which is just gorgeous. It’s a great place for a romantic stroll, a family afternoon, a picnic lunch, or just a break.

The free music offered rain or shine is varied... something for everyone one to enjoy. Dancing too if that is your fancy. With the occasional passing by of trains it all adds to the ambiance. A great place to bring the family and well behaved pet to relax on a blanket on the he grass or a lawn chair or one of the chairs they have set up there. My dog LOVES coming to people watch and see the trains and enjoy the music too.

Beautiful spot on the Erie canal

Great walking path along and across the river. Small playground for kids to burn energy. The kids loved the pedestrian bridge and getting to watch trains go by on the tracks running parallel to the park. Our only complaint was that the parking lot for the pedestrian bridge was hard for us to find as we were from our of town.

Love being again in my home town love all the upgrades they did to the park but what they really need to upgrade is all the abandon houses in Amsterdam...

I loved it! I thought it was very beautiful! I took a picture of my sweetie and I and in the background was the river and some mountains and you had no idea where we were. You would have thought we were up north in the Adirondacks. Really nice place to walk around and enjoy the scenery and be outside. I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was!

What an awesome place but getting there...... Aye yai yai.The river is a great backdrop and the rounded hill makes for a sweet arena. The horror of seeing a concert here is the trains ripping on by with horns blasting. Theres no way to shield this reoccuring intrusions.

Awesome place to go hang out for the day. The new bridge is gorgeous and there is even a cool little park for kids to play in. Rivers edge is a neat little restaurant down there too!

I like it i took a ride from Rotterdam bike trail to there one way was 7.49 both ways was 15.55 miles it was a very nice ride its a new and old trail thay need to fix the old trail to bompey but where the water front is is nice thay have ski Jumping on some days a new walk brige for people for bikes for kids & dogs take a look or a walk and have fun by

Nice place. Friendly people. But since we are on a boat we have no transportation except to walk. They have no inexpensive public transportation

Still has that new look. A lot of information to read and nice overview of the river. Wouldnt recommend going near sunset if youre afraid of spiders as the bridge is absolutely covered.

Nice and quaint park that is only accessible from a pedestrian sky bridge that passes over the local train tracks making it quite unique in that respect. There is usually entertainment going on in the park and the seating is ample and comfortable. There are power outlets by almost every bench so you can charge your phone while you play Pokemon GO at the Pokegym that I had a part in creating.

Its a nice area, Im just not too thrilled with all of the stairs you go down to get there. The concerts are pretty good too. The parking isnt too bad. We left the lot fair ly quickly.

The traffic flow on upper level of parking has changed no longer 1 way. A bit difficult to manage when congested. There should be better signage.

The park itself is a nice, little, river front park, but figuring out how to get to it was ridiculous! The GPS took us to a loading dock on the wrong side of fences and train tracks. Then we saw a pedestrian bridge, but in the process of getting to it, we ended up on a street across from the parking garage and crossing the main highway access into Amsterdam.Our only option was to turn left at the light. We sat there for FIVE cycles of lights that never gave us a green. Cars lined up behind us. We had to pull a u-turn to get out of there and we were 20 minutes late to our event, despite leaving early.Then the parking structure was in poor repair such that the in lane had to be used for both in and out.On the plus side, while waiting at the never green light, I misread Beacon Insurance as Bacon Insurance, which made a good pair with my sons joke about Hamsterdam.

Location of where to park needs better signs. Once you figure out to get to the park its a beautiful spot to relax or walk/run.
