I cannot say enough about how AMAZING Della Viti was to work with when throwing my Sister-in-law a bridal shower. Add in the craziness of a pandemic and they went ABOVE and BEYOND! Staff was always friendly and patient when I had questions. The day of the event they were super accommodating and helpful. They even offered to hand wash the personalized glasses I had made for guests. Their mimosa bar was a big hit with several compliments and super affordable for me as the hostess. I will be using them for all of my shower needs in the future! After posting pictures on social media I have had people ask me where the shower was and its like Ames has their own little secret with this place. Definitely worth checking out whether you are hosting a shower or just looking for a great venue to relax and enjoy tasty beverages.

Loved this experience. Great environment... Cant wait till after the election and the election flu scare is over. It would be nice to enjoy this place in its intended normalcy. In the mean time, still a fantastic time.

My boyfriend and I go here for Martini Mondays ($4 martinis!) whenever we can. Every day of the week there is a good special. The drink selection is great and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Service has always been friendly and the bartenders do a good job. They often have fun events and even live music throughout the week.

Della Viti is definitely something like I have not experienced before. The idea of it is very cool! I enjoyed the wine and the ambiance but the bartender was rude and acted like we were inconveniencing him when we needed something. Overall I enjoyed myself but wish the staff was a little bit friendlier.

They also offer variety plates of cheese, crackers, and fruit that pair very well with wine.A very nice place to sit and chat with friends or go on a date!

This is one of my favorite places in town to meet friends. They have a wide selection of wines and being able to select smaller pours allows me to try several of them. If you are not familiar with the style of bar, they will issue you a card with credit on it. You select your wine and one of three sizes of pour (taste, half glass, or full glass). They also have a good selection of scotch, liquor, cocktails, and beers. Seating provides great conversation areas and there is outside seating.

It had a nice atmosphere and the bartender was very courteous. Pretty good selection of wines as well. Did not get to spend much time in there, unfortunately.

Half price craft beer on Tuesday nights. Often it makes a good beer cheaper than buying from the super market. Good for small groups to converse. Helpful bartenders and a variety of seating arrangements. A great low-key, relaxed bar.

This is a rockstar Enterprise. The wine quality is relatively high and the diversity of selection is also adventurous. Further the seating arrangements are varied allowing one to sit by ones self at the bar or on couches or tables with a group of people. Finally, the playlist selection is very hip, which may seem trivial to some but if youre just out for a glass of wine and you want to close your eyes and bounce a little bit, this is the place!

Friendly staff even though were busy comfortable environment

Yesterday I had my first time in this place, I think the last one too. You have to give them your card with a minimum charge of $10, so far everything great! then you go to the self service wine. But at the end, I just had the chance to drink one complete drink. Two more tries and the bottles were empty, but no matter that, the complete charge in both of the cases was done. I let Abby the waitress know two times about it and she explained me that the machine will just charge the exactly amount dispensed. And it was at the fourth time when the wine card didnt have more funds. So when I went to the cashier for my credit card the total was anyway $10. I know that is not a big deal, but definitely is when I just could try a small drink of $2.50. And even worst when you ask for the service people to help, and the just ignore you as if it was convenient just to keep empty bottles and to get the money anyway. I report the case to the official business control, I guess this is not the first time and Im not the first person who has the same situation. And if the do the same to a certain number of people, it turns into not that legal activity.

I shared the small cheese plate with 2 other people, wish we ordered the large. We had a red zin wine. We came on an odd Saturday night because it was really dead, made the atmosphere a little dry. This is a place to play card games. My friends and I overall enjoyed our visit!

A wine bar with refined atmosphere. You have to buy a card with money on it too get wine from the various wine dispensers. they will refund any money on the card at the end of the night if you dont want to keep it. It can be pretty spendy per glass if you dont pay attention to the price.

Visited Ames to enjoy a one-off Vinoyasa class being held at Della Viti and it was great! While I didnt indulge in the self service wine, I was really enjoyed the ambiance of the space and soaked up the sun on the patio as the farmers market was going on (aka, heaven). Spoke with the owner for a bit and she was delightful and positive. It was refreshing to be at an establishment that the owner is out mingling with visitors. While I am aware they have different owners and management, I far prefer Della Viti in Ames to the establishment in East Village.

This place is a great, calm place to have drinks.The wine can seem a little pricey, but on Wednesday’s it’s happy hour prices all night and the variety makes it worth the price. The rest of the week they’ve got great drink deals on a lot of other things. Definitely check this place out, it’s become my go to place in Ames.

Delta Viti a great place to go whether youre with a group or just a couple friends. The beer and wine selections cover a great spectrum of tastes and the staff are always eager to make suggestions. I recommend Della Viti to anyone and everyone!

I came here with my husband and a friend on Friday night and had the most disappointing time. Everything started great, we were acknowledged right away and after asking the bartender a few questions about different wines on the menu, she highly recommended one, so we decided to get a bottle, even after informing us of the $10 corking fee. We sat down and were served within a few minutes. The first thing we noticed is that we just paid a $10 corking fee for a TWIST OFF BOTTLE. Are you kidding me? We were annoyed but shrugged it off and just wanted to enjoy our night, so we picked out a couple of games to play as we drank. Once we opened the bottle, and after a few sips we ALL pointed out and agreed right away how disgusting it was. The wine was a sweet sangria and the cap had a weird, sugary crust around it. We thought about it and none of us like to complain, but it was bad enough that I decided to go politely express our dislike and asked if there was something of equal or lesser value to switch it out for. The bartender who was the same one who initially help us was very nice, expressed concern and said she’d have to ask the manager. I then proceeded to watch her go to the opposite end of the bar and talk to the ‘manager’ who was sitting at the bar herself. Very unprofessional. She came over to me a few minutes later and pretty much told me ‘too bad, so sad and that’s not how we do that here’. I didn’t bother to ask but she made it clear anyway that they weren’t going to give any discounts either. I was so shocked at her tone and unprofessionalism that I didn’t even bother to try and negotiate, so we choked down our bottle so we wouldn’t waste $25 ($12 bottle and $10 “corking fee” for a twist off cap!!) and left feeling very disappointed. I’ve been to much better and upscale restaurants and wine bars with extremely good customer service and have received much better accommodations, so why is Della Viti different?

I met two friends last night at around 8:15PM. They had already been served when I arrived. This was my first time visiting Della VIti. I was there for 10 minutes at the bar, and no one bothered to ask me if I wanted a drink, or anything to eat. Finally after another 5-10 minutes, I went over to a bartender at the end of the bar, who was speaking with another customer, and waited. After she was done, she looked at me, and noticed my presence, then proceeded to walk away, and do other things. After that my friends and I decided to go over to London Underground instead. I have not had such awful service anywhere in Ames for a long time.If she had just taken a moment to say, hey have you been helped/served? I could have said, no, and been patient, as it was busy. But to have my presence acknowledged and then ignored, is something I cannot stand in a food service environment. I am very disappointed to say the least.

The bartender pressured my girlfriend into signing up for a raffle for a free facial the last time that we were there. She got a text message last night from Rebecca with MK cosmetics saying that she won, however all she won was an opportunity to go and have Mary Kay products demonstrated to her. Mary Kay is a multi-level-marketing scheme that is basically a pyramid scheme with products added to the mix. I cant believe that the Della Viti wine bar is being used as a front for the employees to push the Mary Kay scam onto the customers. I thought this was a legitimate business, not a front for multi level marketing scams. If you go here be careful that you arent pressured into becoming a Mary Kay salesperson.

Della Viti is what I miss most about living in Ames! I loved loved loved the wine and its ability for you to try many different things. My boyfriend enjoyed their whiskey selection and they have great bartenders! We would go here frequently and would order an appetizer and sit down to play board games. When Im back in Ames it is a must do.

This is a great place to meet up with friends, but still have it quiet enough to have a conversation. I also find in the earlier part of the evening its a great place to take a book and get a his glass of wine and relax on the leather chairs or sofa.They have a lot of great wines to choose from, sorted by types and there are some great featured wines as well. Its a great set up of putting how much you want to spend up front and loading it to your card. It helps not to overspend, but you can always add more if you want to. You can also not use your whole balance and it will be there waiting the next time you return!Staff has always been friendly and its a very well kept establishment in downtown Ames.Only complaint is that some of the wines are really pricey and if you go when it isnt happy hour pricing you can go through your money quick since its more economical to get glasses rather than the tastes. The machines have 3 options with the price for each listed, taste is 1oz, sample is 3oz,and a glass is 5oz or something close to that.

Well this used to be our favorite place to go in Ames. That has changed! Could not get a standard pour of wine because SO MANY bottles were empty. So, ended up with a glass that was part Chardonnay, part pinot grigo, and part whatever the hell would work. The bartender loaded 8.00 on the wine card and I ended up with about 3 ounces of a smorgasbord wine pour. She was aware of our dissatisfaction but could have cared less. She should have personally poured a nice glass of Chardonnay for me and kept our business and that of so many people we have told about this place in the past (when they didnt insist we use the self serve wine card) regrettably they have lost our business.
