Excellent, clean park for the kids. Nice features, my kids loved the glide rope. The park is fully handicap accessible which was neat to see
Wonderful park! A paved path for walking around the pond. Ducks, geese and birds to feed/watch. Dog friendly! Spacious. Lots of shade trees, picnic tables and benches.
Very kid friendly for toddler and up. Kids enjoyed the unique swings and other playground pieces that you dont normally see. Was also very clean.
Gorgeous park. We couldnt find the playground at first, but turn in towards the museum and botanical gardens, and youll see it.REALLY new and nice playground equipment, and its fenced, so you dont have to worry about kids chasing the ducks into the pond.
A nice big park with a great playground, splash pad (during the summer) and a great walking path.Other things to do: fish, feed the ducks and geese (please use duck feed and not bread), sit under one of the many shade trees and have a picnic, play basketball or tennis.Don Herrington Discovery Center (science museum) and Botanical gardens are at the park as well.
Great place for the whole family. Lots to do for kids, places to walk the dogs, and even fish if you want. They keep it very clean and safe. We love to go out there and just walk around the lake to get the kids out and away from the TV.
This park is nice and clean. There are plenty of trees to sit under and read or have a picnic. People often fish in this area but its not at all overcrowded. Its quite serene. I love it.
My boys ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place!! And everyone is so friendly. Playground is maintained very well.
Its peaceful and serene. Love walking around. I cycle around too sometimes.
Great place to walk, rest, recover, mediate, pray. Ive seen young and old. Walking, running, feeding ducks, practicing yoga, just sitting around. Plenty of parking. Nice shade . The geese dont mind using the sidewalk as a bathroom, so be careful.
Love taking my grandkids to play at this park, plenty of stuff for them to do and for us to do together
I love taking my dog here to walk around. Its beautiful. And just a relaxing way too enjoy my time
Definitely have to watch your kids. Sometimes theres just a lot of other kids running around not watching for the babies. Great place to cool off.
Cool, kids park close to the Discovery Center and Botanical Garden. Nice waking paths.
I love medi park, I went there as a kid. Its nice, clean and somewhere to walk/meet up.
I come out here late night early morning 2-3 times a week to just stroll leisurely with my overly attached overweight husky... its so peaceful after midnight when the summer heat is cooling off...
Love going to feed the ducks and take my son to the park.
Nice environment. Great walking Trails and park for kids.
Nice views but not enough lighting at night especially on west side
The park and playground are great. Jus6 wished there wasnt SOOO MUCH trash in the pond. Definitely not good for the ducks or fish.
Nice waterfront park with picnic tables, walking path and kids playgrounds with splash pad
Very nice place to take children. Pleasant atmosphere.
Nice walk around the little pond located on back side of the Botanical Garden and Discovery Center
Been coming here since I moved to Amarillo back around 2008 and I still love it. The people that I have encountered here have always been friendly and it is kept as clean as the poor city workers can keep it considering how windy this town is. Bring along some food for the ducks and geese if you decide to visit. There are a lot of fish in the water and fishing is allowed, too. The whole pond has a sidewalk that goes around it if you want to walk or jog.
This park is a nice place to exercise, or have a BBQ it doesnt have any jungle gym for kids but not too many parks have those anymore. I dont understand why they only put in one restroom and its on the other side of the park. People with dogs go there and for the most part the owners keep them at bay and are well trained, however there are a few dogs that dont behave all that great there. Nice scenery in the spring and summer
Other than people not really social distancing; we stayed away from others and had a blast! Nice to get out
My kids were very excited
Nice, well-kept combo playground / splashpad adjacent to the stream running thru MediPark. Maybe the best non-sports park in town, with walking trails, light fishing, ducks and picnic areas. Botanical Gardens and the Don Harrington Discovery Center next door on either side.
Cute little park with a pond complete with a few families of ducks. There are a few picnic benches and regular benches sprinkled around the pond
Great place to relax. Very peaceful.
Nice playground with long trails. Wished the restrooms were open.
Great place to take a walk! Dont feed the ducks bread though, theyre hungry but bread isnt good for ducks, feed them seeds
This could be a really nice park if the fine citizens of Amarillo didnt treat it like a landfill..The huge amount of plastic bags and bottles in and around the water is sad, considering all the ducks, turtles, and fish that call the water home. Also, there should be signs posted advising people not to feed bread to the ducks. Bread is bad for them. It can lead to health problems like obesity, malnutrition and a crippling condition known as angel wing. Too much free food of any kind may also endanger ducklings just by teaching them to beg rather than forage.
The landscape was not kept up, the grass was dead. The trash was not picked up. My family and I had scheduled a family photo shoot but had to change locations because the scenery was awful. The lake was disgusting as well.
Always a nice place to take a break from life I come here on my lunch break when the day isnt going right
This is my favorite park in town.Besides being a nice place to pull up a lawn chair and relax, its excellent for walking/running. The main track on the east side of Wallace road is near an exact mile and the portion west of Wallace, while slightly less picturesque in my opinion, adds 0.75 mi. Its easy to keep track of your distance and easy to stay motivated while surrounded the beautiful landscape & water. The occasional baby ducklings are a delightful plus. :-)
It is was a beautiful area. The water is not there and trash and dead fish are everywhere. Thiugh its a beautiful place to walk.
Great place to catch fish and to walk around, kid play area can get a lil rough when the capacity is over the limit, but my kids love playing at play area for the most part
We love this place cause its a reunification of people whom all have one thing in common, and thats bringing families together to watch their kids be kids... My child loves it which in turn i love it... The play park, the splash pad, the lake with its ducks brings smiles upon smiles.. Peaceful and relaxing..
Good park for children to play on. Needs turf update soon though
Love the splash pad and accessible park.
Great place for a nice walk or run.
My daughter and I absolutely love this park! Whats not to enjoy?? Inside contains the splash pad on those hot summer days. It holds Amarillo Botanical Gardens, which is an experience in itself. We both love the Discovery Center!! There are always tons of new and exciting learning attractions held there. Then the park itself is gorgeous. You could walk around and enjoy both lakes that are within the park, or enjoy the fishing scene.
Had a lovely walk with a sweet man
Love this park it has 3 different ponds! It has some decent fish for rookies. Its also a great place to bike, skate, or sled in the winter. It is hilly with lots of up and down sidewalks so it is a great place for working out! There is also the discovery center attached with awesome playgrounds for kids of all ages. In the summer they have a huge city owned splash pad thats is really good for the kiddos in summer to keep cool. One of the best parks in Amarillo by far!
Beautiful weather and scenery.
I go fishing here all the time.
Great place, to walk, fish, to have a picnic
We walk here a lot and really love it! Great paved walking trail around the lake! There are some nice big trees for shade, lots of ducks and geese relaxing and posing for pictures, and the park is kept nicely manicured and clean! Great place to walk off stress or rehab.
The water is so nasty my youngest daughter wants to go down and clean up the trash
Great time at the park fishing
I like to walk in the park, take my great grandchildren to the playground. And I like yo watch people fishing.
Big and BEAUTIFUL! Nice lake with fishing available (bring your pole!). Free Splash pad and several playgrounds. Discovery Center is located here, too. Gorgeous park to walk around with mile-markers. Best park in Amarillo!
It has a big water park
Nice park walking around this park is really good exercise
Great place for family photos
Me and my family had a great yime at the park. It would be nice if the park water was cleaner tho.
We recently moved to Amarillo and I have been looking for places to go for my 2 boys - 7 and 5 year olds - and Medi-park was amazing! My kids love the playground especially the mini zipline. We came during late winter but we are looking forward to experience the splash pad in the summer. The walk around the lake is good too especially for our dog, Teddy. Its very family friendly.
Pokemon Go players: This place has a few gyms all around the park and the hospital areas. There are a couple of EX raid gyms around as well. Keep an eye out for them. The park itself is decently maintained and is pleasant site to walk around. Lots of family fishing and outings take place here. There are ducks, and they are so cute! Wish I snagged a photo. There are multiple areas to park and it is close to the Don Harrington Discovery Center.
Beautiful place to feed the ducks
Great place for me to go biking. Love the scenery and the much needed peace and quiet from the usual hustle and bustle. The geese make a mess of the sidewalk in some places but it’s expected from nature. Overall, great place.
I love fishing here and I catch trout, catfish, and a couple of times a carp. They have minnows and crawfish in there. Also clams.
Great place to play Pokemon Go! Plenty of space all around it to walk always nice seeing people smiling faces, conviently located between Don Harrington Discovery Center and the Botanical Garden
The geese and ducks give the dogs lots of New smells to explore
Great place to walk and the park there is nice for the grandkids
Beautiful peaceful great place to come sit in the grass or walk to get exercise
I love taking my grandkids here! They are 5 and 2. They are never disappointed.
Small, but beautiful and relaxing....
Great place to walk, its beautiful
Great place to walk. Several parking lots, paved trail, trash cans, picnic tables, play equipment, ponds, geese and fish stocked for fishing. Catfish in the summer and trout in the winter, but be sure to get a fishing license.
The park is always a favorite of my great grandson. Feed the ducks and play on the toys. He could atay for hours
Love this 2 mile walk!
Great place to take a family or group for a cookout. We loved all the trees and ducks. Well put together park.
Home away from home. Great for families.
Lovely clean park. We went there to have a picnic. It was fun to people watch as well as the ducks and geese. Several people were fishing and someone catch a good size fish. I would recommend this clean and pretty park. There are also grills available also.
There is a plethora, of things to do in Medi-Park. From the Butanical Gardens and new discoveries at the Discovery Center to the Zen like experience with the Geeked out geese, that magically absorbs all of your kids unspent energy. Allowing them to transform into sleeping beauties for nap or bedtime. Thanks Medi-Park.
Nice park. No creeper vibes.
Very nice splash pad that my children enjoyed for well over an hour. The playground also has fun things for them to do, including what they called a zipline (but dont get too excited; its part of the playground) Also, dont miss the helium monument next door, outside the museum.
Fun and unique equipment and obsticles. All safe. Matches with the Discovery Center.
Amarillo doesnt have much water so to see a peaceful lake and walk around it is nice.
Really large walking park, nice play ground with handicap features and water park. Only down side is the play ground tends to get really busy, could be a potential hazard if your worried of losing track of your kiddos!
This is a great place to go to do just about anything (bike riding, tennis, walking, feeding the ducks, or just sitting and enjoying being outdoors.) In the winter, people take their sleds, old tires or cardboard boxes and slide down the hills after it snows. Or even on grass in the summer. The Discovery Center is very near and is great for getting in out of the heat. Great place for a picnic or any type of family gathering.
Clean with plenty of shade and its also gots a splash pad
Took my wife and 2 young boys to the botanical garden for Christmas got to see Santa which was great and they did hard work on the light was great had a blast
A nice place to get a walk inDo both sides for a good one.
