I think they did a great job just like every year. And even better this year with having to deal with the COVID restrictions.Great job guys!
Long line to get it, but still fun! Just be prepared to wait in line for 60-90 minutes. Honestly though, it was really fun!
Way more lights to look at them last year. Was very pleasant drive through
I really wanted to give this place 4 stars, but due to the lack of new safety procedures I just can’t. The park is great, we had an awesome day. Employees did have masks, but there was not a requirement for guests, and most were not wearing them. My next issue was there wasn’t enough sanitizer around the park, I saw maybe 3 stations. There needs to be sanitizer near any high contact area (rollercoaster, paddle boats, etc). Finally, I did not see them cleaning anything (coaster, paddle boats, go carts). Especially the paddle boats should be cleaned after every use (or at least the center stick which everyone touches) since it isn’t very busy. I can only assume they clean the mini golf clubs after every use, however, I did not see that. I’m sure this park was great pre Covid, but they really need to add some new safety procedures.
The go-karts are fun. The water side is fun (when it was open. The rides are good but there are only two the basketball courts are also good but the rims are double so keep that in mind. The paddle boat dont have a time limit to my knowledge me and some friends were in them for an hour and a half so yea. I hope this review is helpfull.
Spent the entire day! Definitely worth the pay one price. We had 6 in our group ranging in age from 14 to 54. With the two putt putt courses, two roller coasters, paddle boats and the go-karts we had a blast! The Lakeside Cafe had decent park food for a reasonable price.
The lovely folks are draining the lake and not allowing the safe removal and relocation of the animals (specifically turtles) inside of it. Shame on you. I hope you feel the blood of hundreds of animals in your souls as you sleep.
Went to see White Shadow. They sing at the Trolley Car Bar. Jerry and his band are really good. I always have a good time dancing and listening to the music.
Disgusting behavior by park management. After expressing my concerns over their handling of the lake drainage and imminent death of all species in the water, I was blocked from commenting and contacting them. The park has been going downhill for years, and now with the recent removal of rides and lingering dead fish smell, it is a disgrace to its former reputation. Drive twenty minutes down I-99 and go to delgrosso, an actual entertaining amusement park and staple in our community.
I was able to take my children to the park when they opened this past weekend and was a great experience. We enjoyed the attractions and the food at Lakeside. The pizza and burgers were fresh from scratch. I did not find it expensive as we fed 8 with plenty of food and ice cream for $60. I am so happy that there is something in the area available to families (esp. post COVID). A wonderful green space with offerings to suit everyone. The staff was friendly and courteous. They will continue to learn as this was week 1 and likely many in their first jobs. Great Job Lakemont!
Super clean... well maintained.... not to crowded.... courteous helpers at the kiosks! A very good experience! Had a great time st the batting cages with the pitching machines! Baseballs up to 70mph! Softballs up to 60mph!
The new Lakeside cafe is SO good. The burgers are homemade and delicious and the pizza is my new favorite! Definitely much better than traditional park food! The staff is friendly and the new mini golf course is awesome. All around, a great experience.
Ive been a strong supporter of the park for many years, but they are not enforcing masks with their guests or employees and I will not be back until this gets rectified. Ive lost two people in my life to COVID 19 and have another thats been in hospice for a month. Common sense says you need to ENFORCE MASKS WITH ALL EMPLOYEES AND GUESTS, social distancing, and cleaning, as does the law. The law shouldnt even matter at this point because it should be common sense. Ive supported Lakemont for many years and will not be back until common sense prevails with this serious virus situation.
Nice, inexpensive day for the family. Teens loved the go-karts! Wish there was a bit more to do though.
Sketchy amusement park, but I loved it. As an enthusiast, 10/10 would recommend. Home to the worlds oldest roller coaster. And another wooden coaster thats really fun. Go check it out. You can walk right in, its basically a public park. Just pay for tickets.
Me and my family had a blest at lakemont park they dont stop if you are not wearing a mask if you have a medical condition and they will have my bussniess next season thank you lakemont park for understanding with people with medical conditions and special needs that cant wear at all because of there medical condition thank you you five stars from me see uns next year.
Really enjoyed the new Lakemont Park. I was afraid the kids wouldn’t like it since most of the rides are gone, but at 8 and 10 years old they kept busy the entire day! Unlimited mini golf and go carts along with paddle boats and the roller coaster was more than enough to keep us smiling all day long!
It was a great place to keep cool and enjoy rides now closed covid hopefully they reopen someday
This is a great little park with two amazing wooden coasters; Leap the Dips and Skyliner. Fun fact: Leap the Dips is the oldest operating roller coaster in the world at 118 years old and is an American Coaster Enthusiast Roller Coaster Landmark. The miniature golf courses (there are two) are really fun as well. Finally, theres the amazing price. A ride all day pass, which includes everything except for the batting cages is only about $21.All in all, this is definitely a great place to go if you are around the Altoona area.
Had a really good time at The Trolley . Hope you keep it going next summer. Service great..food was great.
Had a good time at Lakemont Park on 9-12- 20 for the vets benefit . Even rode the old wooden rollercoaster.
Neat place, clean, and offers food. A good place to walk around or see an event!
Place has completely went downhill. They charge why to much for what little rides they have. The food was over priced and tasted horrible. Theres not much for little ones to do at all. The service and attitude from the workers were just terrible. I highly suggest saving your money and going somewhere else.
Sad management... Draining a lake with no plan for relocation of animals living there. Literal smell of rotting corpses in the air.
I have to say Id like to see the coasters open and bring back the unlimited pass. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and didnt have any trouble with it causting too much or only getting halph my order and I didnt get anything radioactive or splashed in chemicals. My son and I both had burger combos and it was maybe $15. The food stand is full of kids probably working the first couple days of their first job in life. Cut them a little slack and if you find yourself paying more than you should I would ask for a manager. If you want to have a nice day trip, play some mini-golf, ride go-carts, enjoy the scenery then you can have a good time here. If they open the coasters, you can have some good old fashioned fun here like before. People should give these folks some credit for trying to bring the community something nice. Hundreds of these old small parks have shut down and left their properties abandoned to rot. I have fond memories of the place as a child, and that place is gone but better to replace it with something nice and fresh than let it fall into decay. I for one think they did a great job. Fill in some of the empty spaces with more creative ideas and open up the damn coasters!
This review is for the holiday lights only; Ive never actually been in the park. Nice displays that our kiddo really liked. She didnt want to leave! Santa as well as a model train ride and a gift shop are waiting at the end. Theyre having a drawing this year if you put in your name with a list of Santas treats. We had to wait a while to get in, but pretty sure we went at a peak time: 8 p.m. the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Gift shop and model train were crowded, but santa wasnt. Model train display was really cool and my favorite part. Concessions are available but we didnt get any. All in all, fun family friendly trip.
Went for the Christmas light show and it was spectacular!
Amazing and clean friendly staff and lots to do there. Pizza is the worst Ive ever tasted and the burgers was very garlicky. Dont recommend those items but the park was amazing and the slushie drinks and the shaved icees were the bomb.
The Christmas Lights at Lakemont Park during the holidays is a great activity with the whole family. There’s a gift shop after the drive to get some Christmas gifts and souvenirs!
Great experience to ride the roller coasters that are very unique
Good to walk or have a small picnic. But if you want an amusement exsperinence this is not the park for you. Nothing left all sports related.
I struggled to give this a 3 star. This is a nice place to enjoy a walk or a round of mini golf. If your family is sports oriented, then it would pay to use the batting cages or basketball court. The kiddy rides were a little disappointing. There should be a few more. When I visited, the water park had not been open for the season. So I cant say much about that. Picnic areas looked nice. This is not a place where I would go to entertain my children for the day. I feel the price is a little high for what you get.
This is more of a community park than amusement park. Many of the offerings are offered at most community parks such as a playground, basketball court, volleyball court, and batting cages. Skyliner is a decent coaster but a little rough. The go karts were nice as well. I didnt ride the train or antique cars but they looked decent. I dont understand why they need more than one miniature golf course, feels like that space could be used for something else. Leap The Dips was closed. If you come add something else to your itinerary because youre only going to need a few hours. I enjoyed my visit but will only return when Leap The Dips reopens.
Love the remodel. We had a picture perfect family night. Picturesque landscape from basketball courts to sand volleyball to mini golf. Plus the Curve is RIGHT there!
5 rides in the whole park! Golf/basketball & more golf/basketball that you can spend $17.95 to play
Great staff. Friendly environment. Love it
Nice little park enjoyable, the only downside is they have very few rides, but they have other nice amenities.
Gorgeous lights on the lake, worth the money
Stopped at park today (9/12/2020) for an event at a rented pavilion in the park i asked employees about handicap parking, was sent to park office. Was told at office NO handicap parking available.
I was there for my sons basketball game. They cut the trees back so there is no shade. Dont try and buy any pizza from there. I waited about 30 min. for 3 cuts of pizza. ($3 each) The pizza was small and not very good.
What a pretty display for CHRISTMAS!
Went with family and spent good time in park.
This is a nice recreational facility thats home to the worlds oldest operating wooden roller coaster, Leap the Dips. It also features the Skyliner roller coaster, a kiddie coaster, Go-Karts, antique gas powered cars, monster truck ride for kiddies, a train and paddle boats. There is a Waterpark thats currently closed due to Covid. For the athletes, the park features 2 mini golf courses, baiting cages, paved basketball courts and sand volleyball courts. Its a very affordable day out, with a wristband options that include most activities. Individual tickets are available as well.
Cute little park
In response to the Karen who posted a review 3 weeks ago about people not wearing mask all staff members I saw today had their mask on and the patrons who did not have their mask on were properly socially distanced. We went today for the first time since 2014. Even though I felt my age from Leap the Dips and the Skyliner, we had a good time. What they have done to the park is imo a great way to save what is left. $17.95 for all you can ride and all you can play mini golf, go carts, paddle boats ect. The only thing that cost extra was the batting cages. For just under $60 for the 3 is is we had a great time at a reasonable cost. Anywhere else it would have be the price of one ticket for the 3 of us to play mini golf. To the people griping about the prices, BUY A PASS AND PROBLEM SOLVED.Hopefully well see the Waterpark open next season. Good luck to those keeping this local treasure alive.
Very sad to see everything change, this use to be our go to family fun place now its like a piece of our lives has disappeared, thats life tho I guess. The REMODEL seems like a nice place for locals, but we use to travel 3+ hours to visit & its def not worth the drive anymore for us :/
Went for The Lights On The Lake. They are wonderful it is such a sight to see at Christmas time. You drive through the park and see all the lit things. Truly an enjoyment.
Pricy, DEFINITELY PRICY, but fun. We were there for about 30 minutes and got tickets for the Go-Karts and the Skyliner (Leap the Dips was closed). We spent $19 for one ride on each for 2 PEOPLE!!! Prices need adjusted, like the $12 we spent on the Go-Karts! $6 for Skyliner was reasonable.
Had fun it was a nice drive
There are no rides, maybe 4. It was still fun tho.
Very disappointed in park management this year. I worked as a ride operator at the park last season under the old management and was told by my supervisors that I was one of the best. This year however, there were some staff changes. I was ignored for months and then when attempting to find out why I wasnt rehired, I was yelled at in the park office. Most of the park remains closed. The waterpark will not open at all this season and no opening dates have been set for the rides. The new park management does not seem to care about the park whatsoever. Leap-the-Dips and Skyliner are the main attractions but both remain closed and other ride parts are still in storage. There will not be 4th of July fireworks this year. The new management is a joke and I recommend avoiding this park.
The lights and train display were fabulous this year! We will be back next year
Nice place to spend an afternoon. Was here for a family birthday party and was pleased with the things available at the park. Plenty of sports opportunities and still have a few of the rides from its amusement park days. There was also a concert that afternoon which was a plus.
Awesome park to visit. Lots of rides for all ages. Two swimming pools. Water slides and race track cars to drive. Even has discount days during each week.
Christmas lights at lakemont park were amazing! Highly recommend
Went to Lights on the lake for the first time in years. I enjoyed seeing the displays. My young children enjoyed it too. Highly recommend to help boost Christmas Spirit.
Great mini golf! I went on a Sunday toward the end of the season and they offered unlimited mini golf for $5! I was a little upset because I went on Sunday Sept 22nd (the 2nd to last weekend) and due to my own mistake, thought the entire park was open. Only mini golf and the batting cages were still open and I was lucky I made it for that even. Once I looked back on their FB posts I realized that it wasnt as misleading as I originally thought. They did specify on Sept 15th that it was the last day for ALL the thrills. Once I got past the fact that I had missed the coasters and karts until next year, I had a great time playing mini golf. It was not a very busy day there, we stayed from about 4:30pm-8pm and we had almost the whole place to ourselves. They advertise a lot of good deals on their FB page and keep it very up to date which I appreciate. I saw a deal for 4 ride, splash and play tickets for $50 that they did several times throughout the summer as well as BOGO go kart and mini golf tickets some days. It seems like an affordable place and I cant wait to go check out the entire park when it opens again this year!
The lakeside caffe here is terrable i simply orderd 2 cheeseburgers and fries and 2 lg drinks. first off the price was insane it caust 32.33. they messed up my order only giving me halph of it first then i waited 15 minutes for the other halph god help these people if they get a line.when i finally received my order i sat down to realized i payed big bucks for a cheeseburger the size of a recesses candy. and the drink i received was flat and was charged for a lg sodia and received an overpriced medium sodia. and i have reason to believe that the food i ordered was pre cooked and placed near hazardous chemicals and warmed in a microwave then served to me. bottom line avoid this place they have no idea how to operate a food stand
Went to see the holiday lights with family had a great time
Excellent display of the lights despite the rain when we went!
Brings back childhood memories
Great time. Clean park qith friendly staff
We went to see the lights. And santa. Great evening for the whole car load.
This is a fantastic place. We go to the lights on the lake every year around Christmas. My family loves it.
Went for the holiday lights, very nice!!
Christmas Lights: We waited TWO HOURS for the lights, and it ONLY took 20 mins, but it is WORTH IT! Best Christmas I have seen. Highly recommended, even with the long wait.
For only $6 you can ride the incredible Skyliner coaster, and if you’re lucky, Leap the Dips might be open. I have great respect for this park for preserving the oldest standing rollercoaster, but the park itself feels somehow backdated. It feels like walking through a state fair permanently trapped in the mid 1980’s. Very strange, and not exactly the prettiest park, but for the two historic coasters it is well worth the visit.
It was great! The lights were so pretty! We even got to visit Santa Claus in his sled.
We took the children here for the light show. It was nice. Loved the gift shop and train display.
Great place have fun
One star is even to good for this review, went there with my family couple months ago, the pool was closed, only had one place for food open and couldnt believe they took all the rides out but a few. Definitely not what I was use to when I went as a kid and took my few years ago. Not worth the money or time
Every year The Lights on the Lake thrill my children! I think it gets better every year gets better!
I cant believe there was no bigger rides for adults to ride this crazy nothing like the rides they had before and also no games to play and win only thing that was fun was the go-carts and roller coaster One more thing the water slides not even open what the heck is going on with this place they are far from amusement park so sad I really hope it gets better soon than later
Its dirty but there are some very fun things but its very expensive
This was our first visit since the park reopened. Was very disappointed. Used to bring my kids here years ago and raved about the nice atmosphere and the activities for the kids. Now, there are hardly any rides and when we were there, so many of the limited rides were closed for maintenance. What was accomplished those many years of closing?
The new batting machines there a supposed to throw both balls and strikes but more often than not you end up with only 5 hittable pitches for a $2 token. It is just not worth it.
So beautiful and a great family area. I love it since its been renovated, really a great improvement. More peaceful and laid back than what I expected. Its like they took a campground and added a splash park and some rides.
Lots of work goes into this we love attending every year usually a few times nothing will fix a broken relationship or negative person if you like nice friendly people and Christmas lights you will enjoy every minute
Its currently 2019. Last time we were at Lakemont it was 2016 and we had a blast! Since then most of the rides have gone away. Never again! It still costs over $80 for our family of four.
The park was neat and very clean, but there wasnt anything to do here. Just a splash pad, a restaurant, and a few small rides.. I brought my family here because I have so many fond memories from my childhood. I was hoping to make some great memories with my kids here, but we were greatly disappointed.
I used to come here is a kid, They used to have a nice assortment of rides and was family and budget friendlyLast year in 2018 they closed the park out for remodeling and then announced a grand reopening of 2019Since the grand reopening they have removed practically all of the rides from the park yet acted like the park is the same as it used to be with rides and all on their websitePretty much unless you are having a picnic with a family reunion here wanting to swing a bat in the batting cages or play basketball or mini golf this park is no longer an amusement parkMy family will definitely not be returning hereThe only redeeming quality is the fact the staff are still personableI would recommend if you’re looking for an amusement park to go anywhere but Lakemont
Fun for the whole fam!
Went to lights on the lake! Was beautiful! Def worth it! Will be coming next year with more people!
Sad to not see as many rides but everything is clean and there are still fun activities
The lights are very beautiful, we took my Mom and Aunt, this was their first time ever there, they loved it.
Went for the Christmas lights, was a nice show and you can tellva ton of work went into it. The lines were a little long but I guess they cant help that.
Went and seen the lights, very well put together kids loved it. The excitement I heard from them seeing this was well worth the price of admission.
Good way to spend an evening
Every year I take my family to lights on the lake. This year was the worst experience I have ever had. Someone needs to reinforce the NO HEADLIGHT rule while you are driving thru the park. Its kinda hard to enjoy yourself when you have LED headlights shining in all your mirrors. Just annoyed. Money wasted.
Plenty of sports opportunities and still have a few of the rides from its amusement park days.
I love Lankmont Park because not only is it free to walk in, you can have a nice fun time with the family. There are basketball courts, volleyball courts, a small park for kids to play in. They have a lot of events, like movie nights. There might only be a few rides now, but its still an overall great place.
Nice place! I enjoyed seeing the displays.
Honestly, its a rather cute place ever since it reopened. There isnt too much to do, but its still very enjoyable and worth the money you would pay. The food there isnt too bad either, Id say you definitely get what you pay for.
Christmas light display lovely as always. Terrific gift shop and train display.
