Adventureland is so much fun! There are plenty of rides for all fear levels. My sister is terrified of rides, but even she found a few that she could handle. This place is great for kids of all ages. They have a magic show as well as a little circus that goes on every few hours. Lots of fun activities are scattered all around the park. They have a good selection of places to eat and get treats. The blue bunny ice cream shop was so yummy! They also have gift shops and an arcade if you need a break in-between rides. One thing to keep in mind is that they dont keep the social distancing laws too well and hardly anyone wears a mask as of right now.The Bay area was closed, so we didnt get to experience that, but all in all, it is a great place to spend the day.

This amusement park is absolutely wonderful! The rides are amazing !! The prices are the most reasonable Ive ever seen in a theme park and the staff are certainly the friendliest Ive ever interacted with! Within the first hour of being here youll know its family owned and not by some big corporation! Many great places within to eat and shop, play games and arcades, and enjoy a sweet treat! They have terrific food there! Their water park is so fun and I just love the water slides! Every time I go, I have the best experience! I love the games they have there and they have neat decorations which add to the experience! The prices are perfect! Two parks for one price! This park deserves to be the best amusement park in the world! I would highly recommend this park to anyone! I would give this park 1,000,000,000/5 stars and I would rate it %1,000,000,000.

There is always so much to do and see while there. From young to old I am sure there will be something you like. It was very clean while there and the little town was bustling with shops and onlookers. The train ride was slow and lumbering but not overly rough...actually quite relaxing. Many of the games have been around since i was a kid making it nostalgic.Highly recommend for a great family mini-vacation! *Not my photos*

Not too impressed. Spent the day here with our 3 older children. Rented a Wave pool Cabana. Waste of money. We paid the extra for the privacy this would give us. Unfortunately, we were not notified on the website or in person that we could not close the curtains because a recent storm tore them up. One girl said we could zip them shut, then the manager pointed out the zip ties and told us about the storm damage. Not the parks fault however, if we had known this, we could have spent $200 less and rented a basic cabana. It was also filthy. Floors were covered with stains and food, found a childs wet shirt stuffed under the cushion in one of the chairs and there was food crumbs and stains on the furniture. The staff was nice but didnt really have it together. Any basic questions that we asked were met with a yes, then an I dont know with no attempt to find an answer. Total waste of money. Not to mention, website says park is open until 7 but actually closed at 6. Many of the rides were closed down as well as some of the slides. Food is absolutely ridiculously priced. We will not be back.

Monster was amazing, but very few people were wearing masks (masks aren’t enforced), and operations were very slow on some coasters. Most employees seemed to take pride in their jobs though. Great merch! For the next week and a half, they’ll let those with Six Flags and Cedar Fair passes in for free though, which is amazing, otherwise I wouldn’t have come. $13 parking isnt bad either.

I visited the park twice this summer. Its a 4 hour drive from home. Once on august 3rd with the whole family. Lines were fairly short. Most rides were limited passengers due to covid 19, however, we still didnt seem to wait too long for any of the rides. Sadly the raging river ride is still closed due to the park waiting on parts to fix it. They are goping to open it next summer from what a park attendant told me. The ski lift was down also which was fine with me but the kids wanted to ride it. We only bought the 1 day pass and we did not have enough time to ride all the ride throughout the park. We got funnel cakes towards the end of the night and unfortunately they were stale and we felt we wasted money on them. The second time I went was august 26th just me and my sister in law. For a friday the park was not that busy at all. Almost no wait time on all rides except the coasters and even those lines werent too long. The water park didnt have enough staff so only 1 set of waterslides were open at a time which made the lines and wait time super long. We plan on revisiting adventureland in 2021, we are excited for the new dragon slayer roller coaster! We did buy the season cups for 10$ and refills were only a dollar. NOTE: both times I went one of the roller coaster cameras were down so I only got 1 picture each visit rather than one from each coaster from each visit.

This is a great park for a day trip / mini vacay! Its a fair balance between a local carnival and an over-the-top amusement park like Disney. Certainly worth the money for a family outing, with a couple of awesome coasters and a lot of kid-friendly rides as well. The costs of food and souvenirs are pricey, as expected, but I was surprised to get a coaster-photo for only $10. Much more affordable than at other theme parks! I rarely indulge on concessions at places like this, but the Bacon-on-a-Stick is to die for.... and you just might.... Holy Heart-attack! But delicious, nonetheless. My only real complaint is the lack of regulations regarding Covid-19 this season. Its obvious the park has done its due diligence by marking off 6-ft. space parameters, sanitizing rides frequently, installing hand-sanitizer dispensers, and cutting back max capacity on rides. However, there was little to nothing in the way of enforcement of these guidelines. Id estimate less than 5% of park-goers wore masks; I saw not one single individual child wearing one. Many of the hand-sanitizer stations were empty or non-functioning. It was barely possible to get 1 ft. of personal space anywhere, but certainly in all lines, so dont even bother hoping for 6 ft. These things are challenging at very crowded venues like this, but offering disposable masks for free or cheap throughout the park & possibly posting a key employee or two to enforce space guidelines could go a long way in making guests feel more comfortable spending more time at this really fantastic attraction. Come prepared at your own risk to put your immune system to work, and this place will not disappoint!

Adventureland is a great amusement park for a day trip! It has a couple coasters and a bunch of other rides, an arcade and typical amusement park food scattered around an area that isnt too big or too small. Also fun carnival games to play! It also has a sizable water park which is great for adults and kids with water slides, a nice lazy river which functions as a way to get around the water park, play areas, a big wave pool, and an adults pool with swim up bar. Overall, not too expensive for a nice fun day out!

I had my first trip to Adventureland this week. The park was cute. I really like family owned parks, they have a totally different feel than corporate parks. The wooden coasters were a lot of fun and were very classic. Their coaster the Monster, is a high class ride and a MUST for any roller coaster enthusiast.I do have to say I was disappointed by the social distancing put in place. Most parks this year are requiring face masks, and here it was just a suggestion. I counted maybe four guests with masks (not including myself) and some of the staff, but not all.One of the biggest issues I saw, was that the spacing in the queues is not far apart enough. You can be 6 feet from the people in front of and behind you, but 2 feet from the people on your left or right. It would help if not every row in the twisting queues were used, maybe every other row for example. The only consistent social distancing I saw, was that the employees were spacing out guests/ groups from one another on rides. I understand the current times we are in are a learning experience for everyone. I do hope Adventureland takes some cues from other parks to protect their guests and employees.

Great place, lots to do. Adventure Bay had no order and kids were rough housing where they shouldn’t. Saw multiple instances of grade school and above jumping in front of or pushing smaller kids out of line. Life guards need to be more attentive and rules need to be enforced. On several occasions we were worried about the safety of younger children.

UPDATE: I was able to work with the admissions director to get my Adventure card in the mail shortly after posting this. I’ve changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars for the problem-resolution. I still plan to visit the park once this year and a few times next year. However, I may be a little more cautious about getting season passes in the future. Especially as early as December. I’d recommend waiting until just before the season opens due to their strict refund policies.I generally enjoy the park a few times each summer and decided to buy 4 season passes for my family as a Christmas gift. Then the pandemic hit. I requested a refund as I can’t use them, and was told I couldn’t get a refund even though the Park wasn’t open, but I could get a credit and use it through 2021. Okay... I can work with that. It’s now the end of July and I still have not received my credit. The park closes in August. When I asked about it, I was given the same spiel all over again and asked to send in my pass information for credit. I have already done this! And had several emails back and forth regarding additional details. I feel like they are holding my funds hostage. So disappointed. Beware of buying your season pass as a holiday gift. If anything at all happens that prevents the park from opening or your ability to use it, you will have to wait 4 months (or more) to even get a park credit. $500 is not a joke.

Great value for an amusement park. It is clean and the staff are friendly. Reasonable wait for rides and a variety of activities to accommodate all ages. It even has a large playground to let your younger child just play freely for a while. And there is a Waterpark included with the price. You can go back and forth from the amusement to the Waterpark. Food prices are good too and there is a shop to purchase a swimsuit in case you forgot one for prices comparable to Target.

My parents and my brother-in-laws youngest sister were here, way back in July, 1995. It was a lot of fun for Julie and myself back then; but, there have obviously been some big updates made to the Park, as well. Julie even managed to win a huge stuffed horse, playing one of the most difficult games! We used to camp next door to the Park, nearly every time we were able to go on 2 to 3 week vacations to Colorado. It was the perfect amount of driving for our parents, after Dad got off of work at around 3:30 p.m.! It was a fun Park back then; but, it looks like it has become an even greater Park, now! We go to Adventureland once a year in the summer. We dont do the water park because we are in it for the rides mostly. They have done a good job with keeping the place clean and decorated nicely. There are a variety of food options spread over the park for standard amusement park pricing but we keep food in a cooler and take a break for lunch. They have a large covered picnic area in the parking area for those that choose to eat outside the park. There are craft and domestic beers available at a few places but no craft coffee or espresso.Occasionally they have live music which has been nice. They have recently added more benches and seating around the park, much of it shaded. These were all wiped down and very clean on our visit. Some of the carnival games are run down. Skee ball is my favorite game and I have played at Adventureland since a boy. 30 years has not been so kind to the machines though. I hope they are replaced soon as the lanes have bulges and big cracks in most of them. Granted they only cost a quarter to play, but it is also the only game based more on skill than luck.

Everyone going simply does not care about you and your health or the health of your family. I wish I could attach pictures of it. It blew my mind that thousands of people could go to an amusement park where the risk is already higher and not have a care in the world as if the pandemic didnt even exist. I wouldnt be surprised if a thousand people get infected in one day from this park.Wait till 2021. The risk isnt worth you and your familys health

Love Adventureland! Ive been going every year since I was a kid. Always a great time. Some of the rides are quite old, such as the classic wooden coaster The Tornado. What I love most about Adventureland is that they spare no expense when it comes to installing new Rollercoasters. From the Tornado in the 70s (was considered one of the top 10 wooden coasters in the world at the time) all the way up to their amazing infinity coaster The Monster (the first Infinity Coaster to be installed in the United States), Adventureland partners with many venerable Amusement Park engineering corporations to consistently install state of the art rides and attractions.Since its not a massive park, the wait time for attractions is never outrageous, and there are enough side shows and games to keep any family busy for the whole day. Some of the park is really starting to show its age, but theres enough nostalgia for me at Adventureland to keep me going back for years. And as long as they keep installing amazing coasters (next years Dragon Slayer looks insanely cool) I dont think Ill ever get bored of Adventureland.

For the last 4 or 5 years, Ive purchased a season pass to Adventureland Park, because this represents the beat value since I live close enough to take advantage of this offering. If not for the season pass, it would be hard to recommend and here is why I say that:The prices are ridiculous. $10 to park? Really? Ive been visiting this park ling enough to remember when parking was free. The fact they charge for it now, just feels greedy. The cost of a single day ticket has also been creeping up every year. I get it, adding new attractions is not cheap, but a new ride every other year and some fresh paint here and there doesnt cut it, in my book anyways. It is now at the point where driving 3 hours south for Worlds of Fun makes for a compelling argument if youre looking for your best bang for your buck - its about the same price and twice as big, the only downside to that? The water park is not included in the price. At Adventureland, you pay one price for all the rides and the waterpark- which is where we spend 90% of our time. The park is usually kept up well and clean, though there is plenty of graffiti and damaged benches and trashcans are around, you do feel as they they try to keep it in tip-top shape.

Horribly run especially during the summer 2020 and I won’t be back. You wait till people pay to find out some of the rides are down then find out more are down (many kid rides). The fact the park wasn’t busy during a holiday weekend was the first clue something isn’t right then find out after we’re in that they are only using half the space on rides to distance people but none of their workers did nor did they wear masks so what’s the point, the point was you made it unpleasant and wasted a few hundred dollars that I won’t do again. Not to mention the disrespectful employee working the horse ride (older lady with blue cowboy hat) tried yelling at me and I wasn’t having it so she said my kid couldn’t ride but yet you see others breaking rules and she doesn’t care, seems like I was targeted.

I have always been willing and nice to show my bag items. At the start of the season, employees werent touching the bag, so I prefer them not to touch my items still. Today, bag checker (RUSS) was extremely rude. Demanding (slamming the table) that I put my bag on a table that hadnt been cleaned from his last person and wanting to touch my bag after he just touched someone elses. Reading through your covid rules, Im confused how this is following your rules.

It was super fun to go to Adventureland! Even though many of the rides were currently closed for maintenance, lines moved fast and the rides were super fun!

While I love adventureland I have young kids and I personally think its time to upgrade the small children rides that have been around for 20 years or more.

Great things to do for all ages. We had children from 1 to 59, and many ages in between. Had a great time.

Dont buy the souvegnier cups. They are only useful at the exact stand you bought them at.

BRAG ALERT!! I worked at Adventureland when it first opened in 1974. Back then, the park was little more than Main Street and the variety of rides was sparse. But I am happy to report that the park has grown...and grown...and grown with something for everyone of every age. Plenty of food, drinks and treats to make any kid grab a tummy at days end. Bring sunscreen and take your time. Oh... My only complaint is that it is easy to lose you car once youre parked. A lot map would be helpful or a shuttle. Good chance to check out the car finder on your keys.

What a gem to have this in the Des Moines area. Consider yourselves lucky that its here. Whenever I visit home in the summer, I stop by for a day of nostalgia.

Had a great time at Adventureland. Rode a few rides. Had a cheese burger and fries from Coca Cola Cafe expect to pay around 7-10 dollars a person. Enjoyed a delicious fresh squeezed lemonade and a strawberries and cream funnel cake (definitely a share item) Enjoyed the Glow Show Magic Show. Would not recommend the circus it was ok but so many better things to do. Had a t-shirt made and took some old timey photos. Loved the water park. Lazy river was great!

It is an excellent place to spend a fun day, there are a variety of attractions, from roller coasters to bumper cars, It is a good place to go with children because there are many attractions for them, for adults there are more extreme attractions such as the monster, There is also a fairground games area where you win prizes and it is fun to compete, finally there are quite a few food stalls, restaurants, ice creams, among others.Excellent service, great place!

Ive been going to A-land for years. They always do a good job keeping everything clean and running. The park is showing its age and could use some fan/misters on the really hot days but its always fun.I want to make special note of the magic show. That guy has been there for as long as I can remember. He always has a great show and changes it a little bit each year. This year he is doing three completely different shows twice a day each. The shows are free and the theater is air conditioned. Go take in a show and let him know we appreciate his work.
