Felt completely safe watching a movie here right after they re-opened Thanksgiving week 2020. There werent many people there but even at capacity this theater has such high ceilings and air volume that I still would have felt fine. The theater is swank, the food very good and service speedy.
I had a wonderful time here. The staff was bomb! They really went the extra mile in helping you out and in customer satisfaction. I really appreciate all they did. The theatre itself is really clean and new. They coolest thing is that they have incline seats and for the price thats hard to beat! Honestly probably one of my new favorite theatres!
The theater is nice and perfect for a nice family movie night experience...my Mom and sisters love a quaint evening and small crowds. This was our first time at that particular theatre. We ate before we arrived, but I wanted to try something from there menu and I also wanted a hot drink. So I ordered a appetizer to possibly share and the waitress in a almost scolding tone wanted to make my selection for me and also asked my Mom and sister why didn’t they want to order My mom and I both said we had dinner before coming out. I finally was able to place my order of the Brown Sugar Spiced Shrimp without a hot drink as recommended by the waitress. It took a while to come out, when it did it was on a tiny dish with four shrimp! I paid $16-17 for four shrimp but that wasn’t the biggest issue/concern! The waitress never returned for the final call to order from the menu. I ate the shrimp and was then quickly going to the restroom! The food ran right through me! I missed most of our movie! My family and I had the exact same food for our Sunday dinner I was the only one who ordered and ate at the theater. I was the only one who spent the evening in the rest room as well, so not so great of an experience for any of us as they were worried about me.
This new theater was extremely inviting. The staff members were amazing, starting with Monica who greeted me. The seats are quite plush, my drink was divine and my overall experience was outstanding. Id recommend this theater for an awesome date night or a few friends to just hang out. I hope to return soon!
Not a good experience for a first time movie goer. I ordered 3 adult tickets for Frozen 2 (there is not an option for kids tickets) for an 8:30 show for myself, my husband and my 14 year old daughter. We arrived at the CineBistro early. I showed the waitress my printout of the ticket, (she did not say anything about the age requirement) had a couple of appetizers and headed for the show. We were told as we were entering that my daughter was not allowed to see the movie because it is only 21 and over after 8:00. I spoke with the manager and he said it was on the website. I have attached pictures from the website and it is not listed anywhere. He also said that this situation happens often. I feel they need to put this disclaimer on every page of their site as well as at checkout. Not sure if I will be going back.
PLEASE NOTE THAT A 18.5% GRATUITY IS ADDED TO YOUR ORDER NO MATTER WHAT SIZE PARTY.The GOOD:The service was fast and attentive. We received our food fairly quickly. The theater was very nice and the seats were very comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean. The BAD:As stated previously, a 18.5% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. Our party only had 3 people too. Nobody told us this and the waitress handed me the bill as the movie was starting. I didnt check the itemized bill, and added a 20% tip and handed the receipt back to the waitress. She watched me add the additional 20% and never told me that gratuity was already added to the bill. That is something that should be VERY apparent on the menu or told verbally by the wait staff. We ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl and were less than impressed. The tuna was a greyish brown color.....not exaggerating. It tasted less than fresh obviously, but I was just happy that I didnt get sick.We probably wont be back here anytime soon. They have plenty of work to do if they want to stay in business.
Loved this theater. Nice roomy, reclining seats. Clear sound. Friendly staff. They take your order at your seat and answer all questions for first timers. Had the peach bourbon and truffle fries--bothe delicious. Bottomless popcorn was great and really fresh. It was a little expensive, but you get what you pay for.
We had a great time at the cinema tonight but the bar was worth the whole experience. John at the bar was exceptional. He was very personable and created a drink for us that became a beverage adventure. He put it together on the fly and together we called it a black fireball. We are coming back! Oh and the theater was clean.
Always treat me like a king and the food is delish
Not open. Shows movie times, drove all the way here. And it is not open.
Although the tickets are overpriced, if all you want to do is go see a movie, this place is decent. Its new so its nice. However, the seats dont recline as far as other theaters. Whatever you do, dont eat here!!! Its WAY overpriced and the portions are TINY!!! There are some great restaurants within 100ft of this place. I highly suggest you eat before you go. I would also suggest a different movie theater. Wont be going back.
My Favorite theater in Forsyth County. Great staff and great food. Small theater which I like. Big Comfy chairs only front and back rows recline fully though which is annoying though. I don’t like that if you need refills or have problems with your order you have to go out of the theater to get it fixed. There should be a call button.
Eating Plant Based - no problem!! I am so excited their food is really good, selection nice ... We really enjoyed a couple veggie burgers, a free cup of water and the BEST movie popcorn I have ever had. Go 30 minutes before your showtime ... Warning: the reclining chairs are so comfortable, dont go sleepy!
Overall nice theater. First stop was the nice bar for a drink. Bar guy was nice and friendly! The womens restroom by bar was completely out toilet paper. Our movie was at 1:00 so the place was not busy.Popcorn is $9 with refills, but it was awful. Over salty and cold. PLEASE NOTE THAT A 18.5% GRATUITY IS ADDED TO YOUR ORDER NO MATTER WHAT SIZE PARTY. …and they server didnt say anything and I added a tip. I thought that was tacky.
I came here for the first time tonight. Excellent experience. Our waitress Tiana was very good with recommendations from the menu and provided exceptional customer service. The food and drinks we ordered were delicious. It was on the pricey side, but I would definitely return for a date night.
A very nice theater if you are not a fan of crowds. Although a bit pricey it is great to be able to see a movie without people sitting on top of you in a packed theater. Theaters are small, food is good and the servers get out of the way when the movie starts. Best part is, NO TEENS OR CHILDREN ALLOWED IN THE EVENINGS!
It was okay. Having servers at your seat felt weird. I was there for a movie, not a meal. Server seemed a little disappointed when we didnt order, felt awkward. Seats dont recline far enough and were slightly uncomfortable. Overall, it felt like they were trying a little too hard too be fancy. I just want a movie. A comfy seat and clean, well lit facilities outside the theatre. I dont want it to feel exclusive, I want it to feel inclusive.
Such a great experience! I’m so happy to have this movie theater nearby. I took my two kids to a matinee performance of Frozen 2 and they had a blast. Service was great, food was good and they loved the kids meals. Can’t wait to come back with my husband for a date night!
Great experience! We watched the movie Harriet here. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. Super clean with very comfy seating. We enjoyed the burger and fries. Honestly it was a perfect evening at CMX. Well done.
First visit just had food and drinks . Service was incredibly slow, couldn’t get servers attention for another round, food cold. Management apologized and comped our bill. Second visit saw a movie, good experience but didn’t know the service stops when previews start. Third and last visit when management didn’t shut up the “birthday party “ that consisted of approximately 10 boys about 8 years old and not supervised. They were constantly talking loud and getting in and out of their seats two or three at a time during the whole movie. Management had to of noticed and didn’t care when we showed our disappointment. Will go to the Avalon every time for a better experience by 100% .
Great food! Polite staff and very clean. The EXIT sign was very bright and lit up the bottom right corner of the movie screen in red. I got over that though. Overall a great experience!
Visited for the first time tonight and was taken aback by the overly corporate and scripted feel of the place.Upon buying my ticket, the associate at the register gave me a 30-second long spiel about the rules and promotions. All I wanted to do was watch a movie - I don’t need to hear about the rules for my non-existent 3-year old...The popcorn was stale and cold in a massive salad bowl which resulted in popcorn falling everywhere. The $24 pitcher of beer held 48oz (3-beers) when standard pitchers hold 64oz (4-beers) so it’s pretty clear that I got ripped off there. The seats don’t recline as far back as other theaters which is I guess understandable as it’s an eat-in theater? Either way, that was another let down. Finally, instead of saying “good night” the front desk associate said: “come back on Tuesday for ”.Ultimately it is WAY overly corporate and scripted. Everyone felt like they were all robots, emotionless and programmed to carry out their developer’s bidding.I’ll be continuing to frequent AMC and Regal and be sure to avoid this theater in the future.Nice smelling bathroom though.
This was a cool experience! The recliners are different from others that I’ve sat in at movie theaters. The food situation is a little different, but acceptable. If you plan to eat, arrive 30 minutes before the movie start time. You will order everything all at once, and pay for it right then. Once your food and drinks are delivered, your waiter will come by during the previews to check on you, and that’s pretty much “last call”. Once the movie starts, no more waiters. In addition to the theater, there is a sports bar here. Overall, this is a neat experience.
Love the atmosphere. Food was pretty good. We ate before the movie and our server who was also the bartender was exceptional. Slightly overpriced, but I expected that. There was a weird wait period for seating. Never experienced this anywhere else. Maybe it was the newness of it all. My seats were resold. Purchased my tickets online days in advance. My tickets had the wrong theater number listed so I was asked to sit a row back. No one could give an explanation as to how this happened. Whats the point of offering seat selection if you wont be able to get the seats you choose? My first experience was didnt go so well. Will be giving it a second chance soon on date night with hopes of a better experience.
Nice theater, poor app experience. We bought tickets for Christmas night and needed to cancel and request a refund. Good luck trying to get a refund in the event you make a mistake with online purchase or if plans should change. Not only does the refund link not work but the direct dial phone number is not listed on the CMX app. I was able to find the direct dial number via Facebook however the number was repeatedly “busy” signal or once the number worked and “concierge” option selected, the phone rings perpetually which in essence means that there is no staffing to monitor the service line.....We are now stuck with 4 tickets to a show we can not attend and a full day wasted trying to contact a non-existent customer service department
Extremely bad experience at the cmx halcyon theater last night, Friday 12/27/19. First of all, our seats would not recline. We had to get a staff member to fix the problem. Somehow the seats had become unplugged. Next, there was sound but no picture throughout the entire previews. They were working on the problem but could only get the picture to come on briefly. Then a staff member came in and told us it was a tech problem they couldn’t fix. He offered movie vouchers and free appetizer coupons. Some one in the audience asked if we could move to another theater. The staff member went to find out. He returned and said there was a theater we could move to. He would get the lights back up and let us know what theater to move to. In the meantime, the movie started with both picture and sound but not at the beginning of the movie and the lights were still blaring. Eventually, they dimmed the lights. This was an 8:30pm movie that didn’t start until about 9:15. Needless to say, no movie vouchers or appetizer coupons appeared and no one at the front desk knew anything about them or the fiasco in our theater. Very poorly run theater. Plus they do not have senior ticket prices. Will not be returning for quite some time in hopes they will work out their issues in the meantime. Better customer satisfaction is needed.
I would rate it zero stars if it let me. My 16 year old daughter bought two tickets to a 3:30pm showing of Frozen 2 for her and her friend online. Nowhere was there mention of an age restriction except for the fact that 3+ were allowed. Upon arrival they were turned away because they had no guardian. She showed them clearly that their website had no mention anywhere, including terms and conditions, of this policy - only the fact that only 21 and older were allowed after 8pm, which is why they bought 3:30 tickets. The employee showed them a sign with small print and told them there was nothing they could do. When she asked to speak with a manager they told her no.We’ve gone over their website with a fine tooth comb and find no stated requirement that anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a guardian. When you call the theater, the prerecorded message includes the 21 and over after 8pm but says nothing otherwise. I tried to speak with someone but after 39 rings I gave up.Very disappointing and once the newness Of Halcyon wears off it will be interesting to see whether they go under. I also think it’s interesting that they only respond to the positive reviews despite multiple 1 star ratings related to their age policy.Bottom line, if you are going to have a policy like this it needs to be clearly stated for the public to see before making purchases on your website. It’s just a matter of time before someone escalates from bad reviews to legal action over discriminatory and predatory business practices.
Went with my family to see a movie with my little sister who is a 11. Now its 10pm we traveled 45 mins in the car to get there, we walk in and were told that we couldnt see a movie cause you have to be 21 years or older to get in after 8pm. We looked online and they didnt say about that on their website. Now my sister will have to leave tomorrow to go back to her dads and will miss her birthday and Christmas with her mother and brother. Management didnt do anything about either and watched the whole thing.
An absolutely amazing evening with superior food, perfect sound, and highly attentive staff who knew when to vacate the space so that the movie was unimpeded. A perfect experience that I will come back for again when my next cinematic experience is desired, which I can tell you now wont be that far off because it was just that well handled all around.
Wow - new, super comfortable movie theater with a great dining experience!Service was great - Lionel nicely explained how it is organized Very impressed! Will be back for the next movie!
This is truly a wonderful experience. The staff is fantastic. The food is very good. I go to the movies once a year but this new cinema makes me want to go more often now.
The reclining chairs were comfortable, the food was delicious. Fast & friendly staff. Very nice bar area, great to watch the games before the movie starts.
Purchased tickets for the movie JUST MERCY online. Arrived at venue and went to our seats. Moment later the waiter arrived to take our food order. Part of the order arrived promptly and we were told by waiter that the remaining food order would be out shortly. Forty-five minutes later the food still had not arrived. I went to the concession area and spoke with an employee I assume was the manager. I pointed out the waiter who had taken our initial order, who advised the food was in que and would be out shortly. I returned to the theatre. Waiter arrived a short time later with food, which was the wrong order. He subsequently came back again and took the incorrect order, replacing it with what we had ordered originally. It was well over an hour when the food issue was finally resolved.
I really really wanted to like this place. But everything turned me away- from the recliners being very cheap and super uncomfortable to the horrible service. We paid over $50 for an app of 3 little sliders, 1 burger and fries & 2 waters. Okay, not a problem.. whatever, right? They brought our food after about 15 mins but did not bring us our TWO WATERS until 45 minutes into the movie. We were done with our food by then... never got napkins either... so I went to get some in the middle of the movie. The manager was standing there counting money. I looked at my clock just to see how long this would take... she saw me out the corner of her eye but did not say a word or look at me. She finally looked up and STILL didn’t acknowledge me. Afterwards she walked through the kitchen (where other employees were) & did not tell anyone I was standing there. She then came out and she walked RIGHT PAST ME until I said something.... this woman COMPLETELY ignored me. Looked at my clock. 7 MINUTES!!! I will never return to this movie theater. Paid over $70+ to watch a movie dehydrated while sitting in a seat where springs were in my back and lastly, to get completely ignored by managers.
Weve given this theater a shot twice and wont be going back. On our first visit, we tried to go in with our mobile ticket and were sent to a line to check in and get the required paper ticket. We took our beers in from the bar, and the usher told us that someone would come to take our order shortly. Then...nothing for 20 minutes until last call when someone finally took our order, which meant our food arrived in the dark. So the second visit, we arrived early again and suggested the rest of our group order asap. You pay up front, including mandatory tip. My son ordered poutine, which still arrived after the movie began, and a beer that NEVER CAME. The servers disappeared, the kitchen had a Closed sign, and he had nothing to drink with his salty meal. Even if you just want popcorn it isnt worth the hassle to order in the theater. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is that you can ignore the bistro feature and get quasi-reclining seats a little cheaper than at Avalon.
We just watched Little Women, or at least part of it, because the heads were cut. I went out to ask someone to fix it, and I found people in the hallway already trying to fix it, but actually they did it worst.I know they dont have much experience, but they really need to improve this part of the business, because it doesnt matter if the food is good or the seats are comfy if you cannot watch a movie correctly
Comfortable seats. Love the no kids rule at night. Great bar/drinks. We will be back.
Theatre was very clean. Reclining seats dont go back as far as Avalon theatre. Food menu looks promising but the kitchen was closed for our 9PM show, so I settled for popcorn.
It is called a VIP cinema experience by the company but its not. They are understaffed and while the concept is good they dont know how to execute it. Service is slow. Seating is great. Food is ok value for the money.
Writing this review, and hoping that the management reads it. My husband and I went here to have dinner and watch a movie on a Monday night. As soon as we sat down, we got repeatedly approached by 5 of the wait staff to order. It took us a few minutes to look at their menu and decide on food and drinks. The girl that took our order had a suggestion, so I took it and ordered what she likes best on the menu. She informed us of 18.5 % gratuities that will be automatically added to our bill. You pay up front, before you get your food.It took some time to get the food, but we understood the wait time as theyve just opened and the kitchen probably needed some time to get things going. We got our food and drinks, and after that...crickets.No one ever came to ask if the food came out correctly, if the drinks were good, if we need anything else, if we want another drink, if we need a to-go box. Nothing. That is when we realized why we got so many servers approaching at the beginning, just so many times, til we ordered: it must have been all about that high automatic gratuity. We did approach the management upon leaving, they did seem to care, and issued credit for another movie, so that is the only reason why Im giving them a high review: 4 stars.Hopefully they will strengthen this out with their wait staff, to teach them to check back with the clients once the bill is processed and the food is delivered, because that was obvious why 5 staff members were so pushy and attentive at the beginning, just to place the order with the automatic gratuity charged, and go.We have the movie passes to go again, will give them another shot, as all this could be because of the fact that they just opened, and hopefully they weed out the staff that just doesnt care about customer service.
The staff is great. Larry and Derrick were polite and professional; nothing less than what was advertised. Thanks guys! Theater prices on par, and you certainly dont have to partake of the whole experience, but thats why we chose. CMX CineBistro Halcyon. The only thing upscale about the bar area is the cost of the cocktails. I am no stranger that way, however, the small area in front of the windows was reduced even more by the patrons lying down, with their shoes on the sofas as if they were watching a game in the privacy and comforts of their own home. There is a place for that I just didnt think that was it.
I wished I would have read all the horrible reviews about this place before I visited. We arrived 15 minutes before movie started and no one came to wait on us for food service. When we finally flagged someone down they said Sorry food service is over.I told them to send a manager. A waitress finally showed up and took our order. She didnt mention that they add 20% GRATUITY TO EVERY BILL. So she ended up with a $12 tip on a $30 food bill. Its so deceitful. The building is nice but its completely mismanaged.I will not go back.
The worst movie experience. Went to see Star Wars with my 19 year old brother and a friend and they denied me after I paid $50 in tickets because he was under 21. They never mentioned it prior and there was nothing on the website. I feel completely misled and my brother just got back from Chicago to see it with me.I had to wait almost an hour in order to get a refund. Will not be coming back.
Experience was not good at all. Seats were dirty with foo . You could tell they didnt clean before we got in there. The food wasnt fully done and the raspberry cheescake tasted awful. Daughter didnt even eat. Definitely wont be back to this location
Im Australian and was visiting my partner who lives within walking distance of Halcyon.I decided as a last minute thing on a rainy day to go see a movie. I arrived 10 minutes before the start of the movie and the young lady on the reception started carrying on about arriving early to order food.I was completely unaware that the cinema did food and I was only wanting to watch the movie. She went on and on about how it was too late to order food all the while, I just stood there no having a clue what she was on about.I told her I didnt want food, just the movie ticket and she said Well next time just so you know, you need to get here half an hour early.I JUST WANT TO SEE THE MOOOOOOVIE !!!!Think next time Im visiting Ill go to Avalon .Seats were comfortable and the cinema was clean...
I had a horrible time at this place. My husband and I went there and The young litght skinned manager treated us horrible after we talk to him about our food taking a long time and movie tickets not being right. Instead of helping us out he talked horrible to us and went to the back and sat down while the other staff was calling him. The staff kept calling him for help because they were busy and he never came to help out. He talked down to his staff and treated them horrible. All he kept telling his staff members was that they were making him look bad and its not a good look for his bonus. He was more worried about his bonus than giving and helping with customer service. All he did both times we went there was sit down or walk around and not help at all. He wasnt worried about helping out or helping the costumers at all. It was like all he care about was his bonus and looking good instead of helping his costumers. The second time we came there we wanted to watch the game we asked for them to put the game on so they called him to change the tv and we waited for 2hours and he never changed it so we left. We have our own business and I treat my staff wonderful. I would never have someone like him be a manager in my business. I dont run my business like that at all we actually care about our customers and staff. As long as that young man is there as a manager we wont be going back and Im definitely telling my corporate employees that is not a good place to come and enjoy there self with food and drinks, its definitely not a great customer experience at all.
It was great. The food was a bit pricey, but the overall experience was awesome.
The atmosphere is great. The seats are comfortable. They do need to work on customer service and attention to completeing the food orders. Specialty drink were supwrb.
Facility is nice. Food was good. The service average at best. The movie Uncut Gems terrible!
Brand new theater. Went to the opening week and was very impressed. Theater is spacious and seats are awesome reclining chairs with tables
The staff is friendly. The venue is gorgeous. The seats are comfortable. This is the 4th Cinebistro Ive been to, and its the nicest.I do wish the menu was identical to other locations. There are noticeable differences (i.e. The salmon entree).Halcyon is in an awkward location, which is unfortunate for this Cinébistro. However, I would recommend to others.
I’d give this place a 0/5 but it won’t let me. Went to see Harriet with my 17 year old friend and they wouldn’t let her see it even with a valid id. Then after arguing about seeing another movie or getting a refund, the employee over the counter laughed at us and said “It’s only $30 why are you upset?” And the manager watching this didn’t do anything about it.They even had the nerve to say “Hope to see you back!”
Service was good. Portions for the price... Expensive. My drink, some type of Bourbon Tea drink was basically in a shot glass with ice and lemons for $13. Splash of bourbon. My wifes drink, the Halloween Pumpkin punch they over sold her wasnt filled anywhere near brim and lots of ice. The food both gave me and my wife stomach issues in the morning. Hopefully it gets better we would like to go back.
Went with a friend on the first day they opened. We were excited to be one of the first ones in the theater but expected there to be some glitches since they literally had opened that same day. Besides the self serve kiosk only printing out one ticket instead of two (purchased online) we had zero problems the entire time. The kiosk printing was remedied very quickly and professionally. The food was amazing, the seats were super comfy, and the staff was extremely polite and knowledgable. This will definately be our new go-to movie theater!
Food was good but...other problems. They add in 18% gratuity and I didnt catch that on the check (so my bad there) but she didnt mention it either so I added tip. You also have to pay before you get any food so adding 18% is mighty presumptuous on their part. Theyve been open a couple of months but it looks like theyre still having staff training issues. Nobody comes by to refill beverages so pace your drink with your meal. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the seats dont recline but also the foot rest of the seat doesnt come up to full horizontal so your legs kind of dangle. This theater is close to my house but Ill have no issue driving 2 extra miles to Avalon or North Point for a better overall experience. Removed 1 star for each issue - gratuity issue, staff issues (nice folks, just not fully trained), and the seat recline issue.
Went to see a movie for the first time here and wont be back. Dont believe the description of recliner seats. The back goes back less than an airplane seat while the footrest goes up a bit. It leave you sitting with your head pushed forward and your body held upright. It made for an hour and a half movie to be pretty miserable. Food didnt look super expensive ($14 for a burger and $8-12 for some apps) but we didnt have any. But since the seats are uncomfortable we definitely wont be back.
Food was very good, I had the burger and sweet potato fries. Sound system was great and reclining seats comfortable.
Popcorn taste like microwaved. Seats don’t recline all the way like most theaters. Sound is not good for a brand new theater. Food is expensive and not good.
Food is pricey but the customer service is next world.. This is not a movie theater, it is an entertainment and dining EXPERIENCE... Nice fit for the area and provides another option for locals. After 8pm no kiddos as its adults only and this will be THE hang out spot for major sporting events and college football Saturdays
Nice location, great venue.
Fantastic place to relax and watch a movie. The service and food are excellent.
Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful staff that are all friendly. It is an amazing date night spot for couples who want an upscale dinner and movie experience.
The movie theater. Food is over priced and ok. Its better than Studio Grill
Nice and new. Friendly staff. Food VERY expensive though, even by movie standards.
We bought tickets online to watch a PG-13 movie on Christmas with our teenagers. We were turned away because of their 21 and over age policy after 8pm. That was bad enough. However, then the manager, Dionte Johnson, showed up and our situation got progressively worse. He was aggressive with us and told us we should have read the fine print on Fandango. Two other families came in after us and they were also turned away for the same reason. We then had to wait for 20 minutes on hold with Fandango to get a ticket refund where we were told Fandango was keeping their $6.80 of convenience fees. What a freaking joke! CMX and Fandango - Merry Christmas and congratulations on epically bad customer service.
So much for a bistro theater... we arrived before the start of our movie and were not informed by anyone of “last call”. We were completely ignored unable to even order an iced tea never mind the lunch we had planned. After waiting 15 minutes being unsure of how we’re supposed to get a servers attention we approached one and were told we were too late and missed last call.
My son and his friends (17 yrs. old )arrived 4:30pm but not allowed to buying their own tickets without adult. They called me so I had to watch movie with them. It supposes to be no under 21 after 8pm but anyway nobody could answer my question. So, I believe it is Teen Not Welcome. After home I saw my bill and figured out theres already a 18.5% gratuity of our orders but I paid extra tip without been mentioned it. I have no excuse to complain it because the theatre is dark and what the service crew enthusiastic only tip so she patiently watched me while I was calculating the tip, its understandable although not acceptable. So, I paid my extra time, extra ticket, and extra tip. We wont be back to somewhere only money welcome but not customers. Thank you.
Nice new place. Good service!
Terrible experience, purchased 5 tickets via app to 1130 pm show. Guest in from Ohio, we come from Marietta, GA to see #BadBoys . Upon arrival to find out at that time our 18yr old son with his parents couldnt go in because of age restrictions due to serving alcohol. We were advised if we were there before 8pm he could go in. Hmm let me get this straight 8pm he can go in, 1130 he cant ? Now alcohol is served durning both times. So whats the difference? Come on is this a movie theater or a bar? There are many ways to monitor serving drinks to age appropriate people. Simple ID check, how about a fabric wristband band color code that can only be removed by cutting it off like the VIP section at Stae Farm Arena that as a reminder allows 18yr old to be where alcohol is served after 8pm. As I read the reviews its obvious this is a problem. We were not able to get a refund which is a big problem. I dont say this often but the way this was handled and from reading the reviews I hope this place fails
Great service, great food!!!! Sounds could be better for movies
Go to Peachtree Corners CMX cinema! This is my second time here and although I live only a few miles away from Halcyon, the Peachtree Corners CMX is so much better and worth my money. Staff at front and bar not friendly, menu and overall atmosphere is lacking. Staff at PC are SO friendly every time I have gone, drinks and food are better, seats are more comfortable and the overall experience so much nicer. This location had so much potential being the newest one in Georgia but Peachtree Corners is hard to beat.
Can you give a ZERO as a rating? Hands down the worst experience ever at a theatre. We went to see a movie this morning because we heard there was a new cool theatre opened 20 minutes from home. Movie started at 10:30 am. We arrived at 10:20 (normal right? Not for them!) I asked how we get drinks and food. The girl at the counter said “you can’t -you can only order food and drinks if you are seated 30 minutes prior to a movie.” Who goes to a theatre that early!!! They were serious. We heard all the other families complaining about this too. Oh and the “new” restrooms at the front were out of order. Comical how badly organized this is. The manager in his grey suit walked by and we asked if they even sold popcorn and he yelled yes and he passed us. We were then told by a passing waitress she was sorry we couldn’t order food. They do have concessions but only in the afternoon or night. So there we were with tickets in hand but NO WAY to get anything. They had to open the BAR to get cokes for everyone wanting a drink. Worst concept ever!! The seats suck too they recline like airplane seats. Oh and don’t buy online because that set up is not how they actually are in the theatre. It’s just normal rows but online they make it look like pairs separated. Do yourself the favor and Read all the google, yelp and Facebook reviews before giving this place a dime. Horrible service and concept!! Go to Regal at Avalon or AMC at Northpoint until this theatre management company figures out that this community doesn’t like their ridiculous set up. Everyone leaving was complaining. we did not hear one person that enjoyed it. My guess is they will eventually get better but for now GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. We could not buy popcorn or candy at a movie!!! I’ve never written a review on anything but feel so strongly that this place is so bad I’m making it known everywhere I can.
Great job with set up... Needs little fast service
I would leave zero stars if possible. Worst movie experience ever. Don’t waste your time or money.
Went there with 18 year old it was ok then brought the whole family at 830 pm were denied bc we found that after 8 pm no one under 21 is allowed... $64 down the tub and gas money yikes painful --> EDIT : Fandango reimbursed the full amount we only wasted time. still a bit painful. We also see now they added a cautionary note of the age policy on their website - which is a step in the right direction.
I came to see Joker last week. I was looking through these comments and I don’t understand how some guest could possibly give less than five stars. This is like no other theatre I’ve ever been to.There is a great teamwork service staff, delicious food variety, fun for family and adults and I will be returning soon!
Nice new movie and food place. Food is good but expensive.
First experience tonight, here’s a advice. When your customer order a decaf coffee and the server brings to you and said here’s your decaf you might want to be sure it’s really decaf. When people order decaf there’s a reason for that, way to ruin a first visit.
Let go ahead and start off that first off who in the world adds on 8 years to the age requirement to see a PG-13 movie after 8pm?? They need to more update their website, because it didn’t state that there was an age requirement after 8pm ANYWHERE on it! The woman who greeted us at the door was rude, and wasted everyone’s time by acting like we were supposed to know to go to the kiosk & then all the sudden she said something about the age requirement in a VERY rude way. I would not recommend due to the poorly displayed “ rules “ & HORRIBLE customer service.
The seats are not comfortable; you must get refills for drinks and popcorn at a concession stand outside the theater which essentially means you dont get refills. Im going back to my regular theater .
Love this theater, great food choices and super comfy and reserved seating!
Best experience. Food was great. Staff goes to any extent to make it right. There was a technical glitch and 15 min delay. They just reimbursed amount paid for food and gave away 2 tickets for future. Yes for a 15 min delay.
This place was a disaster from the start. Family trying to catch dinner and Star Wars after church on Christmas eve. Initially we were the only people there. We ordered drinks and apps at the bar. For some reason the bartender had to go to the back to get draft beer. While we were taken care of ok we noticed another couple that waited 45 mins without getting their drinks. We moved into the theater, which was relatively nice with power recliners. The aforementioned thirsty couple sat on our row and gave a good tip to order all the drinks you might want up front. After the movie starts you have to leave the theater to get additional service. This is a flaw. Our food came just as the lights were dimmed for the movie. My sons steak was RAW and covered over in some sort of gravy. He did not eat it and the only way to get it fixed was to miss large parts of the movie. That is a major minus. After the show we asked for a box to take the steak home and finish cooking it. While handling this management was dealing with another kerfuffle. Apparently after a certain time of night (8 I think) you have to be 21 to see a movie. I guess that was not clear for another family and they were in a dilemma where their 17 yo son would not be allowed in. On Christmas eve. To make matters worse, apparently the tickets are handled by another party so Cinebistro could not (or would not) give these people their money back. We got our box and left before their issue was resolved but I really dont see the difference between letting kids in at 6pm and not at 8pm for a PG show. For crying out loud just card people buying alcohol like everyone else in town and stop alienating customers. I dont have time to detail it but management was equally inept in the way they handled the poor drinkless people in our row. This place is on the high side in price, like everything at Halcyon. When paying premium price you expect premium product and service. Without significant changes in the way they do business this place is going to fail. Hard. All that being said, I really dont see a reason to ever go back here. Just way too much hassle for dinner and a movie.
The staff is nice and everything but their policy is just plain dumb, no one under the age of 21 can enter after 8pm... movie theaters make a lot of their money from teens and kids watching movies after 8pm especially in the weekends.. please fix this :/
This was not a great experience for me. Compared to the other locations, I was not pleased at ALL with this new location. The theater was freezing and the customer service was below average. As big as the menu is, I was not offered food or drink the entire time I was there. Disappointment is an understatement!
This place is awesome and everyone who works here is so nice
Awesome classy great service, excellent food ! Ample parking . I did not want to leave . 9/21/19 Great community. love it . will Return .
We went with our family that was in town and they sold our seats three times and had to relocate us twice. The drinks they told us were free refills but there is no consesion stand and they do not come around to refill. The glasses are ridiculously small and filled to the top with ice. The staff never explained anything as to how this works and the person in front of us was on the cell phone all the time and the staff did nothin . I asked for closed caption glasses and they acted like I was crazy. Go to a Reagal theater. Much better and more affordable and better quality
Gonna be an awesome place to chill eat and watch a movie. First class all the way!!
I can honestly say I have never had this kind of experience at a movie theatre before! We purchased our tickets online for the movie we wanted to see. Our tickets came out to only $10 each because it was Tuesday! Woo hoo! We arrived at halcyon and parked in the free parking garage right behind the theatre. When we walked inside everything was extremely clean and super modern feeling. We went to the attendant at the front desk and he exchanged my printed out confirmation for little receipt like paper tickets. He was very nice and informative. About 30 minutes before the movie there was an announcement on the loud speaker that they were now seating for our movie. We went to our room and were greeted by an usher who showed us our seats and gave us our menus. About 2 minutes later our waitress showed up to take our order. We ordered popcorn ($9), a soda (they dont have slushies), the warm goat cheese dip (I think it was about $11), the wagyu sliders ($14), the lobster tacos ($15), and the grilled chicken sandwich (I think around $15). Then we paid right away. About 6 minutes later our food arrived with a nice big alcohol wipe to clean our hands. Everything was so good! My favorites were the lobster tacos and my goat cheese dip. The popcorn came out on a fancy silver popcorn holder thing?I supplied a picture. The chairs were comfy except I wish the legs came up a bit more. The bathrooms were stunning!!! Immaculately clean, paper towels were thick and large. It was an overall incredible experience and we will definitely be back!
Horrible. Never again .even with the Groupon price. I see now why they are on there.Seats do not recline all the way back. They recline you into a awkward uncomfortable position and they kept the air blasting when it’s 49 degrees outside !! I’ll go and spend $40 a AMC
Wonderful experience! Will definitely be back!
The food is ok, the staff is very nice
