Great place to take some photos!
Under construction traffic so slow but they working on it
Pretty cool. Birds nest and flock on the west side exit of the tunnel and the plaques illustrate the neat historical nature of the tunnel. It looks dark and ominous from the outside but once you enter your focus shifts and you can see everything in either direction. I walk through this tunnel about once a week and I love it every time.
Pretty cool spot for some moody nighttime photos.
Wilkes Street Tunnel is commonly used as a bike/running path in Alexandria, but many may not know the history about it. Its a tunnel used as part of the Orange and Alexandria Railroad that was incorporated in 1848. It was used to transport items to and from the nearby port in Old Town. Now its part of a biking path and the site for many photo shoots.
Cool piece of history in Alexandria, fun to walk through, lighted at night
This is a wonderful place to take a walk or ride a bike..
So cool! They dont have tunnels of mystery like this back in Chicago
Favorite selfie location
Really great acoustics if you’re walking home drunk late at night and feel like belting Adele at the top of your lungs.10/10
Very tunnely - no leaks or cave-ins: I liked it!
I mean, its a tunnel, and as far as tunnels go I guess it fills all the requirements??
