My Children love Goldfish swim school! They had a strong fear of swimming but the instructors at Goldfish built up their confidence by making swimming fun while teaching them the skills they needed in order to be safe in the water. All the instructors have their own unique personalities that kids love which makes learning for them super fun. The front desk staff is very kind and ready to assist you as best as they can. My kids continue to swim at Goldfish and my daughter says that when she grows up she hopes to be a Goldfish swim instructor.

I found a new swim school for my daughter, and I’m hoping that the level of customer service and professionalism is better. The swim teachers are young adults high school/college and they are all polite. My issue came in with management at Alexandria location and the District Manager. When I signed up, I got a representative who was training, she did not explain the policy, when I arrived for my first lesson it was suppose to be free I paid for the lesson, I was not offered a tour of the facility or an overview of the policy. I was going on vacation, I informed the representative of this, my daughter would only be able to do two out of four of the lessons, I love thirty minutes away so my daughter wouldn’t be able to just make up lessons with the schedule we both have. Your paying for each lesson even if your paying monthly I’m not paying for lessons my child cannot attend. They were rude, they are about money not about providing a service, and it’s sad. I was a new customer, and sometimes customers will have certain circumstances you should do your best to accommodate them. They get you with the 102.00 because if you have any obligations they will not accommodate you other than tokens but how will that help. Pay for your lessons by the week. Do not do the monthly sign up. They won’t care if you had death in the family or illness these people do not care.

The classes are small and the water is warm! Each class has their expectations laid out and the kids are moved up as they advance (versus when they complete a certain number of classes). There are tons of staff, up to 4 students per 1 class. I think the teachers are also life guards but I’m not sure. But there are helpers everywhere, handing out thumbs up and high fives on top of what the teacher does.They cancellations up to the minute before so that you can reschedule. They have family swim nights which are a lot of fun.

We love this place! Everyone is very friendly, the instructors are great, the environment is definitely geared towards children, and there are many class options (more than are even listed on their website.) I feel safe bringing my kids here during Covid (they take many precautions, and the chlorine in the pool makes it safe.) I would definitely recommend it!

We love our classes at GoldFish Swim. We have been doing it since 6 months and now at 14 months my little one loves the water, has strong kicks and pulls, able to get out of the side of the pool, and not afraid to swim Under water. Elias G is the best instructor for the little ones. He is helpful and fun. My son loves his classes with him.

We love Goldfish Swim School! The staff and instructors are so caring and attentive and it works! My four year old can swim independently for 10-20 feet at a time.

Our three year old son takes swim classes here. It’s a great swim school. He takes classes every summer and we are trying to teach him to swim so that he is comfortable in the water. He’s getting there. The teachers are very patient with him.

We love Goldfish! Our daughter has been taking lessons there since they opened. For those concerned about safety protocols during COVID-19, they have great procedures and policies in place to ensure that everyone is safe.

Coming to Goldfish has been such a wonderful experience! The teachers are patient and encouraging, the classes are engaging and the facilities are always impeccably clean.

I enjoyed how they sanitize everything between sessions, make sure all who enters uses hand sanitizer, the seating is set apart for social distancing, the trainers all wear safety shields in the water. I’m pleased overall as I’m a very much so Germer phobic.

In the last week of June 2020, my daughter had no formal training and swimming and did not know any basics of any swim strokes. The swim strokes are taught here and tested for advancement amongst five different levels: glider 1, glider 2, glider 3, pro 1 and pro 2. After that, if the child tests well, s/he swims, not the width but, the length of the pool in the swim-force classes. My daughter splits her living equally between her divorced parents; so that from the end of June 2020 to the beginning of September 2020 (before the school year), she had only 5.5 weeks with me to do any swimming. With her mom (for reasons not worth mentioning here) our daughter got no swimming time. She and I, to offset that missed time, practiced together outside of classes, but she also took multiple classes at GFSS each week. With the great curriculum and help from coaches here, my daughter by the school year achieved swim-force eligibility! The rest of the staff (administrative issues) has been super accommodating to our somewhat-unique-family situation, so an extra shout-out to them too! I highly recommend not only the school, but also enrolling for multiple classes per week to get maximum value for your child. I often tell my daughter she got a swimming-camp experience during this strange summer 2020 of COVID-19. Its been great for her survival skills and her confidence and independence (ie her personality). Managers Kris, Ann Marie, and coach Weldon have been especially memorable to my daughter or me. Thanks, GFSS, for helping our family in a variety of ways thus far!

My kids loved it! 3 kids per class and the instructors wear face shields. Both of my kids gained lots of skill and confidence each day!

Super friendly teachers, very clean and well organized.

We went to my sons classmates birthday party here. They had everything down to a science. Everyone was in the pool, out of the pool to eat pizza and cake, and completely done (and out of the door) within 2.5 hours. This place was efficient with the whole operation. There appeared to be exactly 3 people on staff who were certified lifeguards who also doubled as party hosts and clean-up crew. I couldnt have imagined a more organized and well-executed party. Great job.The pool was large and only 4ft deep, which was perfect for the kids. There were plenty of pool toys, life vests, and goggles for everyone. The place was well kept and decorated. There were enough cubbies for storage of our things, enough changing rooms, and more than 4 clean bathrooms with showers in each one. I like how the pool are was kept warm (because it was mid-February in the North East). I also love that there was a seating area outside of the pool area for people who could not handle the warm temperature of the pool area. It was separated by glass, and had a lot of seating. Im so impressed.

The management has been warm and wonderful (thank you Annemarie!). The teachers have been fun and kind to the kids. While moving through different levels, changing time slots, and using makeup classes, the kids have had a number of different instructors. All have been lovely. That being said, my kids and I especially adore our experiences with Jacob, Salvatore, and Weldon.

We love the focus on safety and teaching how to feel safe in the water and what to do if she needs a break. We also love the energetic instructors, the timely and organized lesson times and lanes, as well as the impressive communication on my childs success and areas of opportunity.

Goldfish Swim School always provides personalized attention for my son with a strong focus on his areas of strength and growth areas for building his swimming capacity. Each week he is excited about going to swim lessons and pumped when he leaves about his achievements during the lesson no matter if they are small or large. As an educator it is easy to see and much appreciated in the preparation of his swim teachers and all of the teachers each wee . I highly recommend Goldfish Swim School, especially the one in Alexandria, VA .

Amazing staff and teachers. They have brought our kids out of their shells and have taught them wonderful swimming lessons this summer they are fearless and know water safety. With our shy child they are patient and kind, encouraging that child to be brave at their own pace. The facilities are clean and have great amenities. Highly recommend!

The facility is great, but the true gems of this place are the coaches. The coaches have truly bonded with my child—he honestly believes that they are his friends AND coach’s who have never taught him know him and greet him by name—and have my three year old son fully independent in the water (I mean, I still supervise, he’s 3, but he doesn’t wear water wings and can fully interact with his friends in the water!!).I cannot recommend this business enough

Staff are always pleasant in person and over the phone, very responsive when it comes to email. My son is now very comfortable in the water, and has learned great techniques in short period of time. The ongoing classes seemed to work better for us compare to signing up per sessions.

Great staff! The manager is exceptional at keeping things running smoothly and working with our schedule. I’ve had three kids take lessons here and they all had great experiences with all the teachers.

My kids (5 and 6 year old) attended their first swimming class on Tuesday and the class exceeded my expectation! I was concern in how my six year old son with autism would react to his first lesson, to my surprise Markie, swimming instructor, was able to work with my son with no hesitation. Markie and staff members were patience and sensitive to my son’s special needs, kept open communication and provided me with options while my son was in class. The kindness we experience by staff and other family members meant the world to my family and we are looking forward to our next class.
