Very nice place to study. Ducks are mostly quiet and fun to watch, every once in awhile, it seems one cracks a very funny joke and they all laugh. COVID safe place to study and hang out with friends or loved ones.
A very calm place to take kids to kill time or have a picnic. My kids(age 12, 6 and 2) love coming here and feeding the ducks. Watching for turtles and fishes, and they even have some goose or swans here. The fowls will follow you a bit if you feed them, but they do not bite or chase. Its a beautiful scenic area
Lovely refuge for all ages. Favorite place in ABQ to take wedding and graduation pics. Nicest part of UNM campus.
Great family experience and close to my work. I love it.
Great place to rest, meditate, recharge. The weather is ideal for just hanging out, especially during the week.
Ita so nice and if u love to skate UNM is a grate place
Its always a nice place to visit. We took our 9-month oldto look at the ducks and turtles and play in the grass and she loved it as well.
To be honest I didnt see any ducks but overall the place is very peaceful and relaxing.A good time to lay down and read a book.
Its extremely Pleasant in the evening Beautiful landscaping We really enjoy the evenings there.
I loved this place the grass is so green its a nice place to take that special someone
A lovely place to have a picnic with friends, or just sit quietly and read. One of my favorite spots at UNM!
Cool. My son caught two turtles. We let them go.
Pretty cool spot on UNM campus with ducks, Turtles, and a lot of grass. You can absolutely not swim here.
The UNM duck pond is a relaxing . You can go a just relax and have lunch. Or just enjoy the sound of the water and see the ducks.
It was very quiet due to the pandemic, but there is a lot to see and do if youre a walker or photographer
Grounds are well kept and plenty of shade, one person was not wearing a mask, drinking alcohol from a glass bottle and yelling at his reflection but he wasnt being overtly aggressive towards others.
Beautiful spot to relax and be one with the ducks.
The campus is gorgeous and the duck pond is definitely a relaxing spot to go after a hot day.
Too many random people that dont go to college here. Also it smells like a sewer.
Delightful to walk in the morning or afternoon to watch the ducks. Theyre cute and you can feed them!
Went kinda late but was perfect temp not a bunch of sketchy people had a good night out
So peaceful and lively at the same time! Fantastic place!
Cool place to rest on the grass, a good amount of shade from the trees (when they have leaves), pretty views... except the constant presence of couples finding it an apparently romantic spot.
Best place to go to roller skating
My experiences there have been wonderful. However, not so for a grandma and her granddaughter recently...
Nice pond, friendly ducks, sunbathing turtles
Great place for kids to observe the ducks. We took wild bird seed and the ducks had a grand time. Also has a tiny waterfall, whoa!Only thing is that there is paid parking for about 1 dollar an every half hour and only excepted cards. ***HINT park near the Scholes Hall, still have to pay for parking, but hardly anyone parks there on the weekends. Best time to go is in the mornings.
The beauty UNM has an takes care of. Wonderful
Great place for meditating. Peaceful.
This pond is super cute! Loved watching the ducks. Nice areas to sit and contemplate. Wasnt expecting this but it adds so much to the campus.
They have been having some safety issues lately, but it is a beautiful, well-kept place.
Great place to come any time but especially on a sunny day, come feed the ducks or just relax in the grass. Sometimes there are homeless but for the most part its a great place to walk or take pictures.
From the ducks to the extremely large Japanese carp to the peace and quiet, the Duck Pond is a great getaway, especially on weekend mornings! Easily accessible and always incredibly clean. And for those addicted to Pokemon Go, a popular gathering spot for groups in search of imaginary computer-generated creatures.
Looks of pretty birds. Blue bills. Green heads. Two children tried to jump in the water and drown. Luckily their parents were there. Man, kids are dumb.
Beautiful place to have lunch
Favorite place for a relaxing Sunday.
So beautiful best place for pictures
Only complaint is the water in the not popular side. Has several newspapers, glass bottles, and trash in it. Poor turtles and fish living in that..... You would think someone would clean it.... Maintain it... Most of it is.... Its not completely trashed or horrible but that one area saddens me. There were at least 4 turtles swimming in trash....
Always nice part of albuquerque
During the day you have ducks and at night there is small bats flying around and the elusive homeless monsters LoL
Got married here. The grounds are kept up an beautiful. Of course you have some homeless folks around but that happens everywhere. The Fountains are beautiful and theres even little baby turtles if you look
Most happening place of the university.
Our spiritual home during our time in Albuquerque.
This place rules. They dot ducks AND turtles, and a statue of a wolf. Plus, my dog loves swimming in the pond.
It was beautiful! Especially the trees!!
Trash everywhere even floating in the water. One of the ducks has strong wrapped around its legs. Gross.
Open 24 hrs. Really nice spot for students and public both. My dog liked it too.
Beautiful place to enjoy the scenery
I watched the birds and read a book. Great morning.
This area is great for a variety of things. When I go to the duck pond there is so much going on. Its amazing! Its also calming and soothing. You make it what you want.
The duck pond at the University of New Mexico is a true treasure on campus! The spot is frequent head by students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike. The grounds are nicely maintained and in addition to the Ducks there are also Turtles and koi fish in the pond.
Amazing location to take a load off!
Albuquerques central park, the Duck Pond at UNM, offers visitors a much-welcome respite.
Who doesnt love the duck pond.
Nice yo rest
This is the spot to hang out. Whether you are a student looking for a nice outdoors space to read, a family who wants to feed the ducks, or a dog-owner looking for a great place to walk, the duck pond is your spot.Pro tip: look for turtles, especially on the rocks on the North West side of the pond.
Nice place to relax and hang out. Lots of wedding pictures happen here during the summer though so beware. The grass is usually always in good shape for you to sit or lie down in. The little fountain in the middle is cute and the sound of the water is relaxing to listen to. Love that theres sidewalk that goes all the way around it so you can easily ride your bike around it with ease. Perfect for picnics in between classes or if you just want to. Parking can be a bit of a hassle so I would suggest riding your bike or walking there. Overall a really nice place.
Nice calm place to take a walk too
Very calming and our Central Park here.
My favorite location on the UNM campus. Relax and watch the ducks, turtles, and Koi.
A nice spot to sit, have lunch, feed ducks, and watch for turtles. Lots of grass, trees, and benches. Dogs welcome as long as on a leash.
Great place to relax...
I saw ducks and a pond. They were nice ducks. It was a nice pond. Im not sure the nessesity of this review.
Best and only pond round here. Great hangout spot
Its peaceful and quite good place to relax and relieve stress!
Took my senior pictures here! You couldnt possibly take a bad photo there, its so green and well kept! The ducks and turtles are adorable!
Great place to bring the kids or go for a public stroll: wildlife is friendly, grounds are well-maintained, and its a great place to get outdoors with a special someone(or special book)!
This was a wonderful place. Enjoyed it . I hope to visit again sometime. Very relaxing and peaceful.
Quiet setting in the heart of UNMC
I love ducks. Very pretty. Also turtles would recommend
A very nice area to have lunch!
Place is always clean friendly staff. Packaged items are tasteless or soggy. Lettuce is always dead. No matter what you get. As well as dry. I think overpriced. For campus should be within students prices or budgets. Drink prices are high for bottled items do better at Smiths or Walmart.
Love me some ducks
Its very well looked after, there are plenty of places to sit or lie down,.and the ducks are fun to watch.
Welcoming ducks, turtles, red robins, sparrows in and around the campus pond. Scenic spot for photography. Majestic trees amongst the grass carpeted banks. An ideal place for a picnic!
Its pretty, I come here to cry in between classes
Everything is perfect
Best place to Telex & reflect
Lovely spot to relax and enjoy the NM sunshine. Some parking is free on weekends. However there are often photo sessions for weddings, quincaneras, senior and/or graduation happening. Some weekends of Pokemon Go events, it can get a bit overrun. Also, be prepared for bold ducks if you bring them treats (no bread, bird seed and halved grapes recommended). There are also huge carp and quite a few turtles in the pond.
Quiet and beautiful
Alway love this place
Fun day we got to feed ducks and hang out
Great place to visit for all ages. Was a little disappointed because it needs to be cleaned out. Not as many ducks as in previous years. Has a lot of seating to enjoy a frosty.
A remarkably serene park in the midst of UNM. Lots of robins hunting for worms, moms walking their ducklings and big orange fish to round out the experience. On the weekend anyway. Fresh air and youthful exuberance
Great place to go with the family
Nice pond. Angry ducks. Give them snack to make them happy ducks.
A really tranquil place with tons of greenery, for my dog to roam around, dead center in the middle of a desert. A really chill oasis.
What a beautiful and peaceful area to just kick back and enjoy! Between the water fountain trees and green grass, it feels a bit like heaven!
Nice place to hang out in the area. Plenty of others around but everyone keeps to themselves if theyre strangers.
