THE STAFF IS AMAZING!!!!!!!Took the hubby on a sunset cruise and boy was it brisk! We enjoyed our finger foods and drinks on the top deck. Then went down to the mid deck to snap some photos. Before finally going down to the bottom deck to use the restroom and then enjoying a slow dance together in the empty dinning area. Would definitely go on a cruise with the dutch apple crew again! Highly satisfied.
I have been a fan of Gratefully Yours for quite sometime. The usually do shows in a wide area of Northeast and more. The shows typically are on Friday and Saturday. Well, that does not jibe with my regular employment. So I had been telling Alex, a founder, that Ill get to a show when you play on a Sunday. The Dutch Apple Cruise line has them play for A Celebration of Jerry Garcias Birthday, Aug 1. This year of covid19, 2020, it fell on Sunday August 2d. Initially I was apprehensive due to the boat being docked. The dockside concert was in a word, Awesome. The staff that kept things smooth and with nothing but kindness and accommodation. So it was a success and I cant wait till next time. I def recommend
This place is really a 3.5. Tour was nice, though really not much to see, just oil tanks and houses. Food was okay for a boat, still not very good, but better than the average for a cruise. Price were actually reasonable, though portion size was very small. Staff was very friendly however.
The whole experience was excellent. From Melissa who helped me with questions on the phone to her actually boarding us and Anthony who was our waiter and was always there if we needed something. What a great way to enjoy our Hudson River… The evening cruise we chose had 1960s and 70s music. It was a pleasure to listen to because the sound system was good and the music was not played too loud! We were out on the top deck and totally enjoyed our evening. (Also saw a Bald Eagle) Would I do it again? Absolutely!
I didnt enjoy it. Might be nice xasually cruising. Went on corporate trip. Flow traffic pattern nit easy. Boat much smaller then expected. Food not great. But for a weekend cruise when visiting area.. sit back...look at the view...likely very enjoyable
A cool way to spend a hot afternoon. Nice ocean and river breezes provide relief from the heat. However you only get the breeze going one way on the river. This day when we were coming back there was no breeze and it was very hot. The historian, Pat provided interesting stories along the way. My wish was that the cruise could have been longer.
Excellent experience yesterday. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We left on time and arrived back on time. Pat the guide was wonderful at explaining the history of Albany and pouting out 3 bald eagles. We had a blast!
The cruise was absolutely fantastic period a very special thank you to Frank who not only went around helping people he helped me lift my dog up the stairs to the second level and bring her downstairs too. Wonderful wonderful time recommended to anybody.
Anthony and the crew are amazing! From reservations to the end of the night thank you, they do it right. Socially distanced with the same personal attention they are known for. I couldnt have asked for a better time.
It was nice and spacious. The event we had there was a baby shower which turned out beautiful.
Fun little boat cruise for anyone! Great service, drinks and friendly staff.
I LOVE THE BOAT IT SHOWED ME A LOT OF VIEWS ON THE HUDSON THE BOAT WAS ALSO CLEAN & THE WAITER WE HAD WAS VERY NICE.. OVER ALL IT WAS A NICE EXPERIENCE I WOULD DO IT AGAIN
It was very nice and sanitary especially during covid. The host was funny and informative. Would go back to experience the sunset cruise
Not the most scenic, but a very interesting mix of nature and history.Pat the guide was great.
Very friendly and accommodating staff boat is very clean and very roomy to roam around. An absolute must!
Very informative and relaxing tour on the Hudson. A nice 4th of July treat!
Great tour on the perfect day. Not sure I understand why they would want us to tip workers who we didnt interact or even see as we exit the boat? Businesses shouldnt underpay staff then deem them tip-able positions.
Wonderful relaxing trip. Music could have been a little louder.
Fun time at a reasonable price. Knowledge guide.
I decided to surprise my husband with a sightseeing cruise for our 9 year anniversary, we had a great time aboard this boat, the tour guide very friendly and really made this a great experience. For being late October we had great weather to sit on the tip deck enjoy a few jack and gingers and take in the sights of Albany. We were surprised how many people we actually on the boat for this time of year so I would reccomend making reservations ahead of time and getting there a few minutes prior to boarding time. Great experience thank you for making our anniversary special!
Loved my experience. Im not originally from this area but my husband is. I learned a lot about the Hudson river and the area.
We bought tickets for the Brunch Mothers Day Cruise, and Im SO glad we did. It seemed to be very popular with others too, as we sailed at full capacity. The cruise was a little longer than their standard sightseeing cruise at 2hrs as opposed to 1.5hrs, but just flew by nonetheless! The food was great, and service even better! DJ did an excellent job at gauging the different tastes of the passengers on board, and the scenery was wonderful. ALL staff members, from the captain to the servers and the DJ to the owning family members! We ALL thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I can see this being a new tradition. Mom was beside herself! I would definitely recommend it for ANY mom on Mothers Day (or any other time), just make sure to get your tickets early to avoid any disappointments! Were always happy to support local family businesses, especially when its so enjoyable.
I attended a private fundraiser on the Dutch Apple II. The boat itself was was absolutely beautiful with three separate levels for guests to explore. The warm wood interior provided a friendly and comfortable environment while the open air upper deck provided an unrivaled view of the Hudson River. The staff was pleasant, attentive and helpful. I highly recommend experiencing Dutch Apple Cruises & Tours.
Relaxing boat ride with a bar in the back of the middle level. Shade for all three levels, great PA system for the tour guide. Wish the ride was more scenic than the industrial scenery of Albany. Once we got past this, it was great to see the old mansions and our tour guide spotted a bald eagle in the trees bordering the Hudson.
Very nicefor a medium-sized party
I have to say that I havent been on the Dutch Apple for years. This was my sons 21st birthday as well as my mothers birthday. Pat our wonderful tour guide was funny, personable, professional, and just a down-to-earth person. We had a nice time. Thank you very much for making our Day special.
Took their cruise on an extremely hot July weekend.ProsBoat on the waterConsA/C was unable to cool. Standing right in front was a bit better but theres room for only three to do that. There was a local group on the boat. They were extremely noisy to the point that you couldnt hear the narrator unless you stood right by a speaker and even then it was hard to hear. Plus they took up 3/4 of the seats in the air conditioned level. In addition, being local, they acted like they owned the boat.Given the above, we found the tour extremely boring. Maybe its because the Albany river today is just that.ConclusionAt $20 a person it wasnt the worst but sure could have been a lot better.YMMV
Comfortable boat with limited food options but alcohol. Tour lady was nice and informative. Lots of landfills on the banks of the river doesnt make for the best of views
Hello,Dutch Apple Cruise is very informative because on tour they also describes the history about the Hudson river and to inform about the surrounding. Its informative.
Visiting Albany for the weekend. I highly recommend signing up for a cruise with Dutch Apple Cruises. It was a lovely tour of the Hudson River, showing the sights and historic attractions of Albany. We also saw bald eagles! They offered refreshments (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks, Restroom was clean and the staff were friendly.
One of the best attractions in Albany. I love sighsatinng. So you better check it out before its to late
Been going for Years an Ive ALWAYS been safe went for my birthday an got ti sit in the captain seat
Enjoyed our tour on the Hudson. The Dutch Apple is a great boat, we had a great tour and everyone did a wonderful job. Recommend taking the ride
Dutch Apple is a hidden gem! I booked a few tickets for me and a few of my nieces and nephews; they had a blast! The crew was so personable and we enjoyed very beautiful views by the River, and even spotted some bald eagles hanging out on trees along the river and flying around us. I will definitely book a cruise again very soon!
We enjoyable cruise on the Hudson. We saw so many adult and juvenile American Bald Eagles. The narrator was entertaining Nd knowledgeable, sharing interesting historical facts with a humorous delivery. All staff were friendly and polite.
This is our third fundraising cruise on the Dutch Apple from the office staff to the crew on the boat . They are too notch . Very professional, courteous fun group of people. From all of us at the Cruising for Tots we thank you !!! We also recommend if youre in Albany NY looking for something to do look em up!!!
Tons of fun! Cruising around on the top deck with a nice iced tea is perfect.
Great time. Nice relaxing cruise down the Hudson. Caption was awesome, had some great stories about the history on the Hudson.
The boat was nice and clean, the ride was smooth, staff were friendly and helpful, and the tour guide did a great job describing interesting things to see the entire first half of the trip (as advertised, he ended his talk at the halfway point).
I got to tour the uss slater and the tour guides were awesome
Nice to be on the water. Not much to see on the section of river, except smelly oil tanks!
Wonderful cruise!
Went for Father’s Day was worth the $65 very nice
Absolutely wonderful!!
We walked in without a reservation and got tickets for the 1:00 PM cruise, which lasted 1.5 hours. The beautiful scenery and leisurely pace, the stories shared by the tour guide, plus the sighting of several bald eagles (the tour guide was really good at spotting them from a distance) all made for a truly amazing trip! And for $20, it was also very good value for money. The outdoor deck provides the best views but when it gets really hot and/or humid, there is an air-conditioned deck to retreat to. They sell snacks on board but you can bring your own. Free parking near the ticketing office.
Oldies cruise sponsored by Magic 590. Great boat, great entertainment .
Great little trip down the Hudson. Pat, the guide, is knowledgeable and funny. Learned a lot.
The Rocking the Boat for Peace evening event cruise was quite very peaceful and calming out on the decks even with the rain, watching the lightening was magical. The restroom was very well kept. The bar and buffet areas were nice, with tables and chairs and an area for a small band in the bar area also. The top deck had both an open area and a covered area with tables and chairs.
Wonderful people to do business with. Every cruise I have ever been on has been more amazing than the last.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. My mother has difficulty walking and they helped her throughout. This is more of a pleasure Cruise then a historic tour. It is still a pleasant boat ride, if thats what youre in the mood for.
The staff is nice
We had a great time and we hosted some family members that came from Britain and they couldnt stop Thanking us for taking them on that cruise :-)
Great boat tour and narration. Really gives a feeling of the history of the Hudson
Not that exciting, but informative abkut the history of Albany New York
Fun and exciting, just wish they had something besides hot dog as food. I was looking forward to actually eat there.
Get in the boat 30 minutes early to get a seat upstairs, to get a nice view of the Hudson River. There is a small bar inside as well
We had a good time on the Vintage Pride Cruise with the Dutch Apple line. It was a lot of fun and those who plan on attending Pride events next year should put this one on your list of fun things to do. You missed a good time.
Excellent! Beautiful day helped of course but commentator was very knowledgeable
Had a great time at a reasonable price. Very informative
Great time! Went for a company event. About 50 of us.
I did a promo event sponsored by Yelp a few months ago, so my experience may or may not be indicative of a typical tour. The tour lasted about an hour. There was light music on the bottom level, and a description of the scenery on the top. Ample seating, and plenty of food and drinks (including a full bar) to keep everyone comfortable and occupied. The experience of riding along on a boat was nice. Unfortunately, that area of Albany isnt the best for too much incredible scenery; you should expect some amount of industrial feel to the view from time to time.Still, the company put together a nice, relaxing experience that I wound up enjoying. I would say this is a good pick for families or a couple on a date. Nothing too crazy, but still enjoyable in the right company.
Cruise aint over yet Google. Nice try though
Great tour of the Albany riverside. Got to see a Bald Eagle.
Me and a friend were on a a ride to albany we were looking at the ship not the duchapple but it look like a nice little boat
This is a fun low key boat cruise down the Husdon and back. Takes about 2hrs, with some interesting and beautiful sites along the way. There is also a lot of industrial views and on a cloudy day its not quite so luxurious. If you definitely want to sit on the top deck, board early as there is limited space. They also serve beer, wine, cider, hot dogs, chips and candy on board. Theyre website says you can bring outside food, but no outside drinks.
I wasnt on a guided cruise. It was a party cruise. Everyone had a great time. The DJ was good and the drinks were reasonably priced. The sunset on the river was great too.
This was a private cruise chartered to start the celebration for my brother Nicks wedding weekend. Everything went off like clockwork. Anthony and his fellow worker were great behind the bar. Captain Ron, of course, did a great job. Everyone enjoyed Pete as the narrator and the luncheon buffet was gobbled up and the waitress (I did not get her name) who handled that for Nicoles did a great job. The weather cooperated and was ideal. And we were allowed to fly our family flag. That meant a lot to us. We got tremendous positive feedback from all the guests on board as they all enjoyed the cruise immensely.. It was a great way to kick off the wedding weekend and a special treat for out of town guests who were not that familiar with Albany and its history. Could not ask for a better experience
The tour company was very good but the experience was a little disappointing. Not very scenic.
Great staff, very clean, great experience. Well definitely be going again. All sorts of venues but be sure to check in advance to enjoy your time on board.
This was really expository to the history of the region
Another great boat party. Miss the old boat though.
Jerry Garcia birthday cruise was as usual....AWESOME! Thank you!!
We took the sunset cruise. It was very nice. Sound system needs to be improved so you can here the guide regardless of where you are on the boat.
I went on the guided tour of the Hudson. I didnt realize it was so short of a tour. Half of tour was talking. And most of the information was the horrors about of the Hudson. Although it did have sone interesting points.
Cruise was nice, saw Eagles nesting, dinner was excellent.
Great afternoon cruise on the Hudson River.
Awesome Oldies Cruise tonight on the Dutch Apple with Magic 590 and 100.5. Staff at the Dutch Apple are so attentive to detail and customer service. Thank you Dutch Apple for another enjoyable Cruise down the Hudson.
The staff were great and the captain was extremely friendly. Great little cruise on the Hudson. Highly recommended.
Friendly staff.
Love Love simply ️️!
Loved the trip up and back on the Hudson River. There was a narration about the historical significance of the area. Very interesting.
Me and my fiance had an amazing time
Great cruise friendly Crew
Excellent narrator and Captain, boat kept beautifully, nice bathrooms and staff, good bar area, lots of beers, liquor, Apple cider donuts too!
Went on a private cruise. Fun ship and beautiful scenery. A great way to see the Hudson.
Nice boat gave a catering job away for 150 people to help with Toys for tots
Anthony Renna and his crew at Dutch Apple Cruises are top shelf. Took good care of our group. Served good drinks and made sure we saw the sights while enjoying a comfortable Hudson river cruise . Clean courteous.
We enjoy the new friends we met...plenty to eat with Ben and Jay from 590....and the trip on the Dutch Apple was wonderful...
The absolute best experience. I love this boat. the staff and trip were great.
We visited on last weekend, it was awesome experience, 5 star Eaton from my side, also visit USS Slater. These are great place to see once if you are in Albany, we spent 3-4 hrs here..
Nice way to spend 4th only problem at the end not sure why capt did not pick a spot and stay with it. but nice breeze good food and drinks . staff and waiters great
Kids, parents, and wife had a great time.
Nice staff and enjoyable trip
