Best place to get on the towpath trail- there’s a real restroom that is cleaned regularly. Police or rangers monitor it frequently. There’s a dog park and soccer fields off to the side. The one downside- the dog park trail runs parallel to the towpath so it’s common dog walkers don’t bother to use a leash even when they’ve crossed over onto the towpath

Its just beautiful, you can hike their bike there and theres also a park for dogs you can walk,jog or sit with your dogs in or out of the fenced in area.

My puppy actually LUVD iT the most! Plenty of room 2run&play!!!!

Theres a dog park here, its the best thing ever for my pets. Big field, fenced in for the pups to play.

Nice area to stroll in nature alongside the Cuyahoga River within Akron. As of March 2020 there is still construction in the parking lot, but plenty of parking at BARC. The trail is level packed sand and light gravel; its good for a hybrid bike or a stroll with the kids and/or dog.If youre dog lover but not a dog owner its great! Plenty of dogs to love up and not clean after.My only complaint is you find a lot of dog poop bags abandoned on or near the trail. I admit there is a lack of conveniently located waste receptacles; however I wish all dog walkers were as responsible as the majority of dog walkers are.

Just kind of wish there was a path next to the water that you could actually see the water. But it is a beautiful area.

This is a very fine trail its been under construction because of the renewing Akron waterways debacle but its a very nice trail with a very clean restroom in the dog park nearbywhats a good walk and if you walk far enough theres a lot of history in this area from the Ohio Erie canal including the general store museum which is about a mile or so

A trailhead to the fabulous Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath - a multi-use trail that runs from Cleveland to New Philadelphia - through Akron. I mean really, its a parking lot. As good as any I guess. There is a dog park here too.

Very fun place to hike

Excellent place for running, walking and taking in nature. Restrooms here, but sometimes are locked if youre there really early. Next to the dog park too.The trail is good for when you want to get away from the sounds and sites of the city.

Great little Trail nestled in a decent neighborhood. Clean and well taken care of unlike some of the other trailheads in Akron. Not to mention its conveniently located between the valley and North Akron.

I run here often. I will be happy when the construction is done.

Good trail. Always comfortably populated. Not so many people that you cant relax, but not to isolated. I usually jog with a stroller and its a great place for not getting pushed by too many people.

The trail is great and the dog park is even better. My dog loves playing there and everyone who goes is so nice!

Its a nice big open space. To separate sections for small dogs and large dogs. Pretty clean.

We come here for the dog park and love it! I appreciate all of the hard work the volunteers put into keeping the park nice for the dogs, including the tile, gravel and grass that was done this year.

Very nice trail and area to bike or hike at and always have an enjoyable time!

Not bad until you go by the sewer treatment plant and get caught in the downtown construction, still fun though.

Currently torn up for Akrons sewer project.Parking still available at the adjacent dog park. Restrooms still open. Towpath takes a short detour around the construction site, but the path is very rough due to the size of the limestone aggregate.

Well taken care of trail. Mostly crushed limestone so it can by muddy at parts but that is not a big deal.

Great trail head. Easy access to downtown and to the north in the valley.

Favorite run spot. Love running the towpath.

The trail is a multipurpose trail meaning bikes, strollers, wheelchairs, walkers, and etc. Along the way you can see flowers and trees and lots of green.

Major construction for a sewer line a Ross the river, bit there is a short detour around it..
