So far so good, our daughter started going here this year for visual arts. I grew up in private schools, and she was in a private school before here so it’s safe to say I was a little bit biased when it comes to private education. There has been little hiccups here and there with communication, but nothing that would probably not happen anywhere else. What I can say, is that we are about halfway through the year, and she already has people wanting to purchase her art online and around Akron!

Hey! I go to Miller South, and its amazing! The school has a harder expectation on the students, and challenges us to always learn something new. I love it there because there is hardly any making fun of, you can be yourself, and everyone is friendly! I am in visual art and 6th Grade band. All the teachers are great and amazing! We also get awesome field trips at Miller South. I say that Miller South is the BEST school I have ever gone to!. I love it!

All three of my children have attended Miller South (1 girl, 2 boys). It is a school that focuses on the students talents and abilities in their specific art field; however, it also focuses on the academics. If you want your child to develop the talents that you see in them, there is NO better place than Miller South. The teachers are close to all of the students and will do whatever it takes to make sure they succeed! The atmosphere is all about success. Parents are heavily involved in all the different interest areas. The majority of teachers have been at the school since it began. It is an Akron Public School. It is free. It is amazing!

A great school named after my great uncle George C. Miller. Every show is professional and full of talent and the school curriculum is rigorous. Proud of the facility and all the wonderful students that go there.

My name is Juliann Reese. I am a Miller South graduate in the class of 2017. I started Miller South in the 4th Grade. I was there for Vocal all five years. I added on Piano and Show Choir in the 6th Grade. My 7th grade year, I did not get into Show Choir. But I did again in the 8th Grade. I was in 4 Miller South productions. 5th Grade year I was in Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. as Julie #3. 7th Grade year, I was in The Anthology of Childrens Literature as a Narrator and Once On This Island as a peasant soloist. Finally, for my 8th Grade year, I was in Rodgers and Hammersteins Cinderella as the Queen (The princes mother, NOT the evil stepmother. They are two different roles.) Every year I performed in the Annual Big Show for the Vocal department at the Civic Theater in Downtown Akron. This past years theme was True Colors and that was the shows opening song. Over the summer, I performed with the Travel Choir and the Show Choir at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. It was a five day trip. Every day we went to one of the four parks. We did a good job at the performance itself. But, the trip overall was a NIGHTMARE. It was extremely hot. It rained almost every day and we spent the whole day at the park from the time it opened to when it closed after the show at NIGHT. We stayed in a nice hotel though. It had a pool. Anyway, Miller South was my 2nd home. My music career wouldnt be what it is without Miller South. The building could be improved, but the school within it? I wouldnt change a THING. I am currently going to Firestone Community Learning Center for the Akron School for the Arts Program where I am one of the lucky freshman to be apart of Womens Chorus. By the way I LOVE Mr. Pittman I adore hi with all my heart and when you Miller South kids get to Firestone, youll love hi too. Well, this was my Miller south story. But, dont take my word for it. Go there and experience it for yourself.

Went to school here from fourth through eighth grade and graduated in 2011:Overall, a very average schooling environment with an hour of your interest area thrown in. Can’t common on other interest areas, but in vocal we pretty much sang the same songs year after year. We sang anywhere from downtown Akron during Christmas, to nursing homes, basically who ever offered a pay check. We’d probably do a birthday party if you Paid.Parents were over envolved, thought most of their kids were going to end up famous or something, and had a rude awakening in high school. Having rich parents help. Donations from them ensured your kids would get into show choirs or the plays. Seriously, there were kids in show choir who couldn’t dance or sing but whose parents were wealthy and donated to the schools programs often. You knew who donated becaus at the big show they’d give out pamphlets with the names of the parents who did lol.Teachers were okay, many had been there for years and were old and mean, though the classes weren’t particularly hard. Wouldn’t say we had advanced schooling or anything.Overall it was an ok school. I wouldn’t say I got anything extra out of it, but it’s alright for what it was. Heard they got a lot of new faculty so maybe it’s completly different now.

Hey I go to Miller south! If you don’t know what it is it is basically a normal school except you get in for a talent. Such as band,strings,dance,drama,vocal, art and um yeh! I am in for dance and I am in the 5th grade! Tommorow we have a big dance performance so yeh anyways that’s miller south! If you still don’t understand then watch the Nickelodeon show VICTORIUS!!! The school that’s she goes to is basically the same thing as Miller south! I advise you to go there! Ok well bye!
