Always love coming here as it is our lake close to home. A great place to take a walk, play frisbee, bbq or whatever else you feel like doing in a park.
Amazing spot not to hard to hike to and a perfect half way point en route to the M.A.S.H. Site.A beautiful hike with almost unlimited option of trails that all break off the main trail.Definitely make sure you have water or a water filter .The hike is beginner level unless you break off to the smaller trails. Most handicap accessible and well worth the hike. You can jump from 50 off a rock wall or 20 from a boulder or 10 from another rock. There are many options and on a hot day not a bad place to chill. There are also swimming holes along the waters route, go adventure but be safe on the rocks and respect nature, it teaches tough lessons!!!
Easy hike in. Pools were nice and refreshing. Safe to jump.
I have been going to Santa Monica mountain from years, didnt know about this place. Now Im going here every week. Great family spot, perfect for rock climbing. The lake and the pool are my favorites. Wildlife is free living here. Feel the nature .
Nice short hike to beautiful area with diving and shade. Good people& many options for hiking. Also professional rock climbing spots.
Ive been coming here swimming for years, the best time to come if early spring because there is so much water and the rivers are full up to the top of the bed its just gorgeous everything is green around June to May it starts dying down and the water starts drying up becoming a beautiful California LOL
The place is amazing. Nature, Gods art, at its best. The only issue is there are too many people visiting. Trails are crowded and the human footprint has over invaded nature
We went there on a Friday for a picnic and we really enjoyed our time! We got to swim a little in the creek which was super cool! Id totally love to go again!!
Great place for beginners on the bike trails.. not much to explore with bike still scenic and beautiful
Good place to camp very respectful people there is like they choose the nicest people to camp there when you walk around the camp people say hi and good morning too that is nice and for just 45 dlrs per night you get an space the you can fit up to 4 tent and 8 or nine people with one car and just 12 dlrs per car and parking for two cars and there is hot showers nice toilets not just a hole in the ground actually toilets and they clean them daily in the morning
I will not be visiting this spot anytime soon! I had only gone once before about 6 years ago and it was so tranquil and hidden, back when the creek actually had water. We got to traverse the side of the rock along the water back then along the pool. Now it is filled with still swampy water and tons of people who seem to use it as a pigs play pen leaving much of their trash behind. Hopefully things get better in this natural area!
Amazing hiking experience. About 15 min from Malibu pier. There are places you can jump in when it’s hot out. Bring water with you. Stay hydrated!
Worth the short hike to see it but at least during October it was more of just a cesspool of gunk than anything. Worth visiting but not spending any amount of time at and certainly not worth jumping in. I LOVE water and was really hoping to jump in but I didnt feel like cutting through the first layer of festering algae and filth to get in. Go spend time at the Century dam just up the trail instead.
I made a nice walk and loved it !!
I love this place. The water is cold and clean with the stream constantly flushing it out. It does get crowded midday when its hot, and sometimes people arent cool enough to throw away their trash. But, for the most part, its a friendly place with everybody jumping off rocks and swimming and generally hanging out. Lots of great rock climbing here as well and someone even set up some silks last weekend and let us have a go. Keep it clean, pack it out, and keep your music to yourself if you dont mind.
We passed by the pool to do some climbing. While there were quite a few people swimming and jumping from tall rocks I think i would pass on getting in. Water seemed pretty dirty and kind of still. Maybe in the spring its better but even on a hot August day it wasnt appealing to me.
Nice place, beautiful views !so sad, i didnt jump in
So beautifil pool, 1.6 miles from the parking, so easy to walk there.
Great place to go with easy walk with lots of trails to have a fun day
Loved the trails to venture out on.
The rock pools are always awesome but the whole area is still recovering from the fires. Would not go in water right now but it was surreal to visit. Park is recovering nicely. Thank mother nature for the rains. Hope we get plenty more rain this season.
Great walk with the kids. Interesting visitor center with activities for the little ones.
This place is huge. There is always a turn woth a twist. There are rangers on site. If you are a free runner.your gonna love this place
Awsome place hike. Most trails are very easy and accessible to most. When the stream is flowing the pools are beautiful. Can get crowded on the weekends, but still a nice place to visit.
Love hiking this area. Nature at its best!
Nice place for enjoy nature
Great place to hike and see some beautiful country near Calabasas CA.
Love this hike its has amazing climbs as well for rock climbers and has a challenging traverse part
Very crowded with people. Used to be a local place now everyone and their mom is there and especially for this quarantine I wouldnt recommend going. But when no one is there its pretty cool, like 1am
Lots of people but easy hike.
Great little pool a quick 20 min hike lots of wildlife fresh air is the best
Clean and beautiful family place.
The rock pools were an extra my kids and I did not expect when deciding to camp at the Malibu Creek State Park. They were a refreshing surprise in mid summer. Checking the depth is key before jumping though. Be safe!
Very cool.
It didnt inform us the pools are closed we drove 40 miles just to turn around
Extraordinary place you can swim bike and or hike all day
Really fun jumping off the rocks
A very pleasant nature walk. Theres some good top rope and sport climbing scattered about as well.
Malibu Creek Park is recovering from the fire. Saw Lizards again for the first time today.
Great view. Easy 1.5 miles hike from Mulholland and Malibu cyn. Be careful on the rocks
Its great, but the water is not clean. Be sure not to drink it and to wash off as soon as possible. Today, after a week of hot weather, the temperature was slightly warm! Usually, its cold-to-freezing. I think there are animals in the water but its too murky to see.
Came to CA for vacation. Brother and I are both massive fans of the TV show M*A*S*H so we wanted to hike out to the set. The park itself is really cool and has a lot of great views. But be aware that the bridge is out so you have to walk across some logs. If you are planning on going out there to bike you may have a difficult time. Other than that the whole experience was awesome and the set, despite being in a fire a while back, is still a really cool experience!
Very good spot
Fun place with great rock climbing.
Too many people playing loud music. Girls wearing g-strings running around. Would never take a child.
Very nice place
Short walk from the parking lot to the pool(about 30 minutes). The water itself does not look very clean but still a nice experience.
Beautiful hidden pool in the middle of malibu creek
Nice little crag
I loved it and my kids too, its easy to walk with them.
Its an awesome family as adventure,...the entire experience was mind blowing..great place to be at when relaxing from a stressful week of work. The place was clean and volunteers were picking up bits of clutter. Recommend highly to families and everyone seeking a fun filled day!
Beautiful!!!! A bit of a hike but breathtaking beauty fun and adventure when you get there!!! Highly recommend!
Should visit for rock climbing adventures
Great place for rock climbing. Havent explored much more but we were able to get out to Rock Creek with strollers and small kids. There are porta potties that are disgusting but there was a race the day we went so maybe they were fuller than usual. The restrooms at the parking lot were clean though. No soap for washing hands. Will come again!
The park itself isnt the most dramatic hiking in Malibu, but this little pool is so much fun.
Really fun rock climbing here. Consult mountain project but its a popular crag so you can get enough beta from other climbers to get by with minimal research.
Beautiful place to meditate and hike
Nice and convenient rock climbing. I personally would not swim here based off water quality reports.
Trails at Malibu creek are enjoyable and pleasant to enjoy with love ones and the creeks are the best for those great memories
I go here for the rock climbing. During the summer there a lot of people here and theres always good energy. I must warn that the water is a bit gross. Enter at your own risk.
Love this magic place
Nice place to hike and the pool is fairly close to the entrance.
Definitely worth the visit to here.
5 because the Ranger staff do a great job. 1 for the selfish people leaving litter and nonsense. If you come here pick up after yourself.
Its getting bad. More and more graffiti in the back area. Been coming here since I was a kid. The rangers dont do much to enforce park policy. Great sport climbing routes behind the rock pool.
Easy to get there, water was extremely cold.
Great place to go cliff jumping. You can find jumps up to 30ft. Make sure to check the depth of the pool before jumping!! Next, make sure to jump where you know there aren’t rocks sticking up from the bottom of the pool. Be smart. It’s a really fun spot and easy to access from the parking lot.
For myself I love going here. Super fun to jump off a cliff. I will note there are always large groups of college students here every time I go. Still a good time. But if you are thinking of taking kids just consider all the college kids that are also there drinking and swearing.
Its was neat but i was hoping to see Pamela in all her glory there.
Fun hike and outdoor climbing
Had a great time withbmy little girl.
A very good place for the Family
Is this place currently open?
I liked the view... Nice to walk around
5 stars if there would be more water but great place for a hike and picnicking. Must see the visitor center, they have several great exhibits, pictures, and staff is very friendly
Loved this place after the rain the hills where green man so nice
Now is the best time of the year to get up there.
So beautiful awesome trails. Beautiful blessed creatures
Great place for family, good hiking so beautiful on spring season
Its a nice place to spend the day!But it needs more trash bins and signs about telling people that they must pick up their trash! We have to take care more of this beautiful place!
This is really a special place. We come here to climb, and the hike in is tranquil.
Its a good swing hole during hot summer weather. My son swims here all the time and loves it. People are not supposed to jump off the boulders, but unfortunately they do. If you are coming here to swim, please dont jump off the rocks, dont smoke( its a fire hazard) and dont litter. Keep it clean. Put your trash in the trash bins located right there. I cant believe how much trash gets left behind and right next to the bins.
Nice little swimming hole for the hot summer days.
Beautiful place for camping and biking.
Camping sites were too bad although since we were new at using a trailer our spot was a little difficult to get into. After setting up we hiked 2 The Rock pool, Maybe a mile to a mile and a half from the campground. The Rock pool was crowded. Wished the campground had electrical and water hookups Would Have Made It Lots nicer.
Hiking to this pool is so peaceful. Its a short hike through tree covered dirt paths and then you reach this pool and its a complete change of scenery. It can get crowded here, but its usually not bad. You can wade in the water or if youre more daring, you can go cliff diving. Its actually a little dangerous though since you have to clear a boulder at the bottom to hit the water.
Water was up and not able to get to climbing. Healing nicely from the fire.
The best place Ik to spend the whole day with family n friends. Its clean and safe!!
Jumped from the top. Thing was scary as hell.good 30 min to get to the pool. Another 30 for the M.A.S.H site.
There are opportunities to cliff jump here. Perfect way to escape LA.
Amazing and clear views
Beautiful state park. The rock pools are a fairly short walk, well worth going.
OK. I was pleasantly surprised. I am from the PNW and kinda have a penchant for things like cliff jumping and swimming holes - its part of how I was raised. I do NOT expect the same level of caliber nature in Southern California, especially in the LA basin, but again I was surprised at how fun and amazing the Rock pools were.We camped at Malibu Creek State Park and hiked into the pools and we had a blast! Yes, much more crowded than anywhere in the PNW, but still quality swimming hole and cliff jumping and it does NOT feel like youre miles away from DTLA. Surroundings are beautiful and overall the crowd ended up making it fun in a new and different way for the otherwise isolated camper/hiker/climber. Loved it.
Great place to experience the outdoors.
Pretty dang cold but a nice view!
It was 40 years since I was standing in that very spot. Its just as beautiful now as it was then. Still very clean and respected by all. I wont wait long to go back
