Activities for the whole family can be found here. From baseball games to a stroll along the jogging path. Take a swim at the YMCA or visit the groundhogs. For the youngsters there is a playground. Or if the weather permits, there is the new splash park guaranteed to cool you down.
Nice long trail around the outside. Takes about 40 min walking to go all the way around, which is a decent walk. Not too much traffic on the bordering roads, so you get decent fresh air while you walk. The prairie dogs are also fun to watch when they come out around midday.
Landscaping beautiful parking spaces available at various sections of the park. We had a great time. Alzheimers walk(
They have play areas and swings for kids of all ages... Both my kids (1 yo and 3 yo) loved it! We had fun for hours! Will definitely be returning soon
Red Bud is my favorite park in Abilene. I love the walking track & the playground for my toddler
This is one of my favorite parks in Abilene. It has a great playground with a little exercise area that my kids (7 and 4) love to play on. They have a running track with a couple different paths to take for different distances. Ive run around all of them and its a nice route with pleasant scenery (for West Texas anyway). Also my kids love the splash pad here. Its one of our favorite free things to do in the summer.Lastly, there are a lot of events held here!!!
We love it here. Its so peaceful, clean and well kept. It feels very safe too.
Fantastic neighborhood park. Good features. Easy sight line so you can keep an eye on your kids. Redbud is a great park!
Love this splash pad!! It is our fave of all the ones in town.
Abilene Texas my home town. Very nice, clean, well maintained and Id say 99% safe. Much safer then most Parks in bigger cities. Awesome for small children
Ok place to swim but they took out the beach at the horseshoe. Just like San angelo, something gets popular, the city makes it unpopular by screwing it up.
Open and good for running, more than a mile around the outer perimeter. Complete with a small water park, a YMCA and plenty of fields, this is a good place to spend a Saturday
This is a fun park! One side has a playground & exercise equipment, and another side has a fantastic splash pad. There is also a walking trail.
Nice although people in cars tend to block off the available rest areas because of the shade. Turning away athletes. Maybe no parking signs in front of the picnic tables and benches?
Great parking and a nice place to sit and eat lunch.
I love this park, my daughter is on the swim team at the YMCA and I go to the park with my son while she is swimming.
Good place to walk your dogs.
Still a good place to go to for the kids and just to get out for awhile
Beautiful park with several fun things to do with kids. During the warmer months, visit the splash pad here. You want to see some Prairie Dogs, they have a little enclosed area where the Prairie Dogs make their home. They also wander throughout the park and are fun to watch. There is a great playground across from the Prairie Dog habitat as well as a circuit training exercise area. Fields to play soccer and area to just run around if the kids have a lot of extra energy.
Awesome prairie dog community nestled in this city park
December is not always the high point for a Texas Park. Everything was brown or yellow with only a few exceptions. The rather large dog barking and growling at me was uncomfortable thanks to an owner not having it on a leash. Went to check out the prairie dogs. Their area needs serious cleanup. Will have to try to come back in Spring to give it a fair shake.
Good and nice one of the best things about it is that it has a splash pad for the kids.
It was nice weather, very crowded but social distancing did happen.
Cute little park for young ones to enjoy splashing in the water at the slash pad.
Clean and safe with both excercise equipment and playground equipment.
Prairie dogs and ground squirrels are so fun to watch
A nice place to take the little ones and let the run freely. As you take a little time to relax your mind or just enjoy watching the little ones tire themselves out.
Fun place to go walking and let your kids play. I love coming here to see the prairie dogs and feed them some bread. This is a good time to see the prairie because there is about 2 or 3 really young ones running around.
This is one of the best parks for children to play.
My kids and I really enjoy coming to Red Bud Park. The splash pad has a couple slides, the Tower with its three story slides along with one of the best outdoor tracks in Abilene make it a great place to hang out and burn off some energy. Its also fun to see the Prarie Dog part of the park. Several events meet out here, and for good reason as its close to many other social gathering places in Abilene.
Have Always enjoyed this park
Redbud park has a nice track to jog, walk, or ride a bike. The YMCA is on the property. The park has a nice playground as well as lots of sports fields. I go to the park on a regular basis and have never ran into any problems. They also just built a splash pad on the property. The park has restrooms as well.
The kids are always so happy whenever they can feed the groundhogs and the park is always full of kids playing so they get there exercise on
A great place to walk and exercise and keep your mind off things. Good new years resolution, and motivate your friends to walk too...
Wonderful place for the kids, walking track, seating and exercise equipment
It was cool took my dogs there and ate at the park

Peaceful and relaxing day or night love ground squirrel s
Nice neighbor park
Very nice big park
The prairie dog village is the best part
Wide open space in an unexpected location..
This park has a place for kids playground and parents can go and walk or even workout because there is gym equipment at the park too.
Safe...clean... lot of trees... Lovecraft it..
My daughter has a lot of fun there.
Clean and safe for the family
Bathrooms were atrocious other than that amazing park, great scenic area and plenty for kids to do. The prairie dogs are funny to watch also.
Beautiful Park. Great running area. Great places to hang up hammocks.
Great safe place to walk just need more benches on the side by the road
Playground is fun for the kids. Walking track is decent although it could stand some repairs. More trees around the track would be nice. Overall fun park though. Just added a splash pad recently. YMCA is pretty good.
We enjoyed playing on the playground. It was very kid friendly. Bathrooms needed a lot of attention. Very dirty.
It is a nice place where I can get fouced a relax
Wonderful park with great walking trails, great playground for children and work out area. During warm weather months theres a splash pad for summertime fun. Theres also a large prairie dog town where you can see the little critters in their natural habitat. Fun for all.
I enjoyed this when I was a child. Was so excited to bring my husband and children to share with them when visiting. Always fun to watch and glad to see the park maintained.
Same as any other park
Great place to do cardio, use exercise equipment, use kids playground, and watch gophers.
A lot of people have very good moral character, I enjoyed spending time there with my family.
Best splash pad around!
Good place for the family kids can play and parents can workout
Prairie dogs are so cute and interesting!
Im a jogger. Needless to say they have a nice paved-lit jogging trail. 1.5 miles for a lap. Other features - 3 kid baseball fields, parking lots, a YMCA, kid playground, wide open areas for practice (soccer, baseball+backstops), workout area(by kid park), splash pad
We love running at Red Bud Park. Its probably the best public park in Abilene. I feel safe, and there are always cute dogs.
Its a good place to go for a run, just bring plenty of water. I think theres like 1 water fountain on the outside track. 1 more inside the park.
Great place for kids to enjoy. I have kids of different ages and all of them enjoyed the time we spent out here! Bring them out! Plenty of room for them to run around and enjoy being outside!!
Love this park! Very enjoyable for adults and children. The prarie dogs are just adorable!
Lovely view...excellent playground for the kids....great track for walking...biking...running...water park...
Has everything Yu need for an exciting day at the park
Awesome, very hot outside. Has a YMCA near it
Very nice park
Redbud is a nice park. There are many different activities to do there. It is very well maintained as are most of the parks in Abilene.
Great walking track. Family walking to get back in shape.
Great skate park. Bring a helmet, safety is no accident.
Showed a friend what Abilene had and she loved it. Its a neat point of interest.
Amazing place to exercise and spend time with the family!
Kiddos always have a great time here. Whether its for the splash pad, the park which has a little rec area or the fields theres so much to do in one area.
Great park for run with your puppys.
Splash pads are cool
Peaceful and well maintained always
Lots of open space well maintained sidewalk for walking all around the park
The park is clean and landscaped. The facilities are in good condition. Its fun and free!
Good large Park area. It has a Park area for smaller kids and a separate park for older kids. There is also an outdoor workout facility. A new splash pad is also here.
Red Bud plash Pad is now open! This one has two small water slides great for ages 10 & under. Even my one year old and I enjoyed the smaller one. There is also a lesser splashed canal type space for the smaller kids to manipulate water flow. Additionally two large pavilions and a restroom make this a great spot to beat the heat for a few hours!
Fun for the family
Also added splash pad down the way. Great to take the kids work out in pavillion that provide equipment and also has long walk way for those that do evening of morning walks.
