Hi-Desert Nature Museum

Was expecting much less when I arrived but was very impressed! Tons of information provided and fun displays. They have a display up for earth day, definitely check it out.

This was a nice little museum for a quick stop! Its free and very well maintained inside. Lots of cool things to look at that live and can be found in the desert.

We love this place. There are a couple animals ti check out, always an amaxing exhibit, sometimes geared around children, and the play area in the back. We come here once a week to play kids never want to leave, and its free!

Surprisingly neat museum! Plenty of cool animal exhibits, which I didnt expect. Theres basically a tiny zoo in here! The art was neat, though not really my thing. I really liked the exhibit about desert geology and climate. And the staff is super welcoming!

What a little gem! We were visiting our family in Yucca Valley and more told about this Museum. The exhibits where nice and well put together. They also had a playroom for the children which had dress up costumes, plastic food, pots and pans and assorted games. Even though it was very small, they made good use of their space, it was free, very clean and well organized. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.

Fun museum full of information about local wildlife. Highly recommended!

Always a great go-to place for me and my kid to see great displays of our areas fawn and flora. a sweet play area for reading coloring or pretend cabin cooking. nice folks that greet you every time. donate to our local museum!

I loved it, my husband loved it, my 2 toddlers loved it, that should say something lol. This little spot is a gem in yucca valley.I had never heard of it till Google maps recommended this place. Your kids can learn and play! Best part its free entrance, donations are welcome and you get to take some post cards.Loved it, cant wait to go back

It is professionally organized, featuring various rocks, geodes, animals, and plants of the local desert. Periodically they will feature various speakers from time to time. Its an enjoyable afternoon! Annual passes are available, however, the daily rate is quite reasonable.

Great place to take the kids. Interesting hands on exhibits plus a play room if they get bored.

This place is awesome and always changes! You never know what to expect when you walk in. Only thing certain about this place is very Friendly staff and live animal exhibit

Great place. Nice displays of desert critters and minerals.

For its size its pretty good ! They are still expanding there collection i find that great gives people lots to see out here in the desert.

Dennys has an extended menu. The food is great and the service is a match. I enjoy Dennys more than most.

When I consider how corrupt the Yucca Valley oligarchy is.....I have to admire how nice the museum is. Its a great place to see some local artwork, stuffed local wildlife, some living specimens and more. There is a childrens section. Its always clean and fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I was actually inside the community center enjoying one of the many classes they have to offer I absolutely love it and wish theyd have more and more classes Id like to take the variety of classes one each day of the week if I could at my age thats as close to going back to school as I can get learning things and having friendship with other people in their 50s and 60s and 70s some how much younger and its still just as wonderful I encourage anybody to go there isnt the library enjoy the park enjoy the Beautiful yard big grown or children can play and then all the different classes that are ongoing only $2 per class thats wonderful and the people in each of these classes. High Desert Museum next door is amazing Ive been through it many times I encourage anybody to go see it the exhibits are phenomenal at the local area and theres many historians there available to tell you all about the secrets of our magical desert xoxo Onna

Interesting to all ages,easy to find. We really love the area history and wildlife displays. Our teens had a ball with all the live critters, animal pics and even the taxidermy.

For being completely run on donations, this place is amazing.

I love that Ive got a local meusem to visit . Out of cash and looking for something fun to do. Come to the Hi-Desert natural meusem.

This museum is a hidden gem. The museum is not large, but the displays are interesting and informative. They have a neat little live animal display, a nice mineral display, and a wonderful childrens area. The days of operation are limited, but if you are around on the days they are open I would suggest stopping in. Also, it is free.

A wonderfully earnest nature center with dedicated and friendly staff. The location occasionally hosts special events, including cozy concerts featuring local performers. Note, the museum is on Dumosa Ave on the north side of Twentynine Palms Hwy 62.

Great museum animals, bones, play area movies, lots more for kids,the whole family to enjoy together. Libary, park community center right next door. Only bummer is museum is only opened Thursday thru Sunday.

A small town museum with local artifacts and some live small animals. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. The provide a school kids program periodically that is interactive and worth attending, but the number allowed to attend is limited.

One of best free musuems ever! Great rock and mineral collection and changing exhibits! Kids love this place

Its a nice little museum to go to if you have the time. You can roughly look at everything within thirty minutes. The only thing I really didnt like about it and the reason Im giving it two stars is the fact that they have live animals in small, tiny, compact spaces on display. Birds, snakes, and squirrels that should be out in the wild flying, slithering, or running for miles.

Clean, interesting, friendly staff, and diverse exhibition featuring photos and taxidermy of the local desert biota, antiques, Indian artifacts, geodes..etc Recommended for reading aged children and grown ups. Free admission but they do accept donations.

I really love this Museum, it very clean and organized, has a kids area to color and play.
