My family and I have been going to this skating rink for around eight years. The management has changed and there are some notable differences. Id like to add that I am not an employee. Most reviews complain about the staff and owner not doing their jobs. Yes, the majority of the staff are younger. Yes, some of them also skate while theyre working. However, the owner is there regularly and manages them correctly. The staff are sweet, friendly, and there to get you what you need. The referee is constantly helping people and quickly cleans the floor if spills happen. Although the admission prices have gone up a bit, the rink seems to be much cleaner, the food (specifically the pizza) has gone up in quality, and the owner has stepped in to improve the rink. During COVID-19, they have handled sanitation precautions well. If you have previously been to Hot Wheels and didnt enjoy your experience, I recommend trying it again. I skate weekly and am always seeing improvement. It is evident that the owner is working hard to fix and address the issues in other reviews.

I had a great experience buying roller skates here. Ryan is very knowledgeable and very helpful. I would definitely recommend Hot Wheels if you’re planning on getting new skates or upgrading your old ones. Nice skate floor, too; I wish I lived closer to take advantage of it.

It is a good place to skate and have fun but the rental skate suck and the workers don’t work like my own experience. A few years ago I went skating with my dad and I was trying to get some little kids off the rink because it was the fast skaters time on the rink and I ended up falling and breaking my arm and they did nothing about it and it was right in front of them. Also they made fun of me for not being tall enough for when I was requesting a song and I could barely see the DJ.

We LOVE this place! We have had several birthday parties for my kids that ran so smoothly! The staff is so friendly and the entire place is always clean. Big thumbs up

Getting back into skating so I stopped by Hot Wheels as it is my local area rink. The staff was extremely friendly and the owner took his time to share knowledge with me concerning the options for speed/jam skates in todays market. The kids that work here don’t even work. They are far too worried about hanging out with their friends. This ruins the experience for others that have to deal with children not following rink rules because the kids that should be working are not. I have previously had a conversation with the owner about the lack of work that the teenagers do. I hoped that this would get better, but it has just gotten worse. Kids are throwing glow sticks all over the skate floor and not being told to stop. Kids are skating in the wrong direction and not being corrected. The list goes on and on.

Great place to spend a rainy or winter afternoon with your kids! Our daughter loves to skate and this place is perfect to unplug the kids from their iPads and phones and have a great time while burning calories and listening to their favorite tunes. They do games and races to keep them entertain. PRO-TIP: Ask the DJ to play your favorite song and skate the night away!

Tonight my family and I went to hot weels to try have a good time. Everything was going very good, into a guy the was there Told my Daughter to get the f.... out of the ring, because she was skating slow. He looks one of regular he was skating very good and thought he owner the place . to top off, He went to the referee and she told my daughter to leave the ring too. My daughter got very upset. I went to front desk to complain, and I found out the boy was the referee boy friend. She was on her little world. Didn’t care at all be a referee but only care about her little friend.

We love this skating rink! My family and I come several times a week and always have a wonderful time! The owners are amazing and the staff is friendly and attentive. We love getting the chance to bring new people to the rink and they always have a great time and always come back! I definitely recommend this rink to anyone who is looking to skate and have a fun time. Looking forward to many more days of skating here!!

This is a wonderful, extremely clean, fun-filled, and family oriented facility. I have known the owner Whitney Finley my entire life. I know that she and her husband Ryan give their all to this business and would never settle for anything less than 100% satisfaction for their customers. I highly recommend this business for anyone looking for some good old-fashioned fun with their family!

If you just want to skate around in a circle... place is great. If you want to go to a rink with activities and games... not the rink for you. Employees are young kids and prefer to DJ and skate around vs actually engaging in anything organized with kids. It’s okay, but could be a lot better.

8/22/2020: We come here often. Love skating but the workers and I use that term very loosely, pay no attention to what is going on. They are all about meeting and spending time with their friends. They have a request list for songs but wont play the requests. Referee is no where to be found. People are falling and no assistance from workers. My daughter, 14, is doing their job. Music is horrible. People making out with no one saying anything and young kids around. This is getting out of hand. Get it together and Ill give it 5 stars.10/2/19. We went tonight and it was awful. Referee was not paying attention to anyone but his friends. His friends going too fast and doing tricks. Almost knocking the younger kids over. We like this place but it seems that the referees have issues and only get the job to show off. They dont take the job to actually work.Peyton is one of the employees here. He is one of the most polite young men I have ever met. He works as a referee on the floor. He is very considerate and watches everything going on. The other young man is not quite as watchful and likes to show off. Love this place, just wish owner was present a little more often.

They made fun of us for a song and they were using profanity. Most of the workers have a negative attitude towards there guests I saw a little kid get hurt and all they did was look at her and they didn’t even help. The place is very unsanitary including the bathrooms There pizza is very gross and it was uncooked I gave the cashier my money for a Icee and she gave me $3s back when I gave her $10️ At least one male worker was willing to be nice to us The other workers were running around and they were not doing there job

Been there for years and it’s always amazing, employees are sweet at the start and you get to know them and you’re treated like family and turn to your best friends even more then you are in the beginning. Definitely good for families for a night out or teens for something to do when there bored or need ideas. Would totally recommend!

I haven’t went skating since middle school and this place was so nice and fun.

I would give Hot Wheels 4.5 stars if the manager didnt go out of his way to make me look bad to my friends and family! My wife and I planned a birthday party at Hot Wheels that came with 20 admissions with skate rental, 3 hours in the party room, 3 pizzas (Ill comeback to this one) and a birthday shirt for my daughter. Everything went well at first. Guess were happy. When we went into the party room to eat and sing Happy birthday everything was good except for the fact they only brought out 2 pizzas. No problem I figured Id just ask for a refund of the cost of the extra pizza that was not delivered. At the end of the party I spoke to the manager about the pizza that never arrived. He checked with the kitchen and when he came back he said they got the order however they forgot to make the pizza. No problem accidents happen he refunded my money. 25 minutes later when my friends and family are standing outside of the party room the manager comes over and says You did get three pizzas. Ill let you keep the refund I just wanted to let you know you did get the 3 pizzas. I quickly said no I didnt and then he proceeded to show me 3 pizza skids. I said I dont know where you got the 3rd pizza skid from, because it didnt come from the party room we were in. He said you were in the far right room right. No asshat we were in the middle party room, but thanks for trying to make me look like a scam artist to my daughters friends parents! I wont be returning after that!

I have previously gone before and have had fun other than today when i realized how they leave they’re workers struggling to do they’re jobs by themselves. i saw a worker working concessions today who was super sweet and really nice but yet she was by herself when working behind the counter trying to get everyone’s orders. she should’ve had someone along with her to help.

My son always has a great time skating at Hot Wheels and all the employees did a great job of teaching him how to skate! Definitely a family fun experience and much more affordable than bowling or going to the movies!

I picked my granddaughter up from a birthday party at this rink on Saturday, April 13, 2019. She told me she had to use the bathroom and there was NO sink in there to wash her hands! How nasty is that? 3 stalls and no place to wash your hands, something in wrong with that. Im pretty sure thats a health violation!

This place is so much fun. You can bring your family and friends. You can stay here for hours its soo much fun

I have been there for several days in a row and a lot in the past. I agree with Madison’s post ... that poor, sweet girl in concessions works her butt off. No help. But she remains sweet, helpful and with a smile on her face. I have NEVER in several months seen anyone ever take a break. The manager, Trevor, is nowhere to be seen. Hot Wheels should be ashamed of themselves for not taking care of these teenage employees better. They deserve breaks and they deserve a manager who will jump in and help.

I love this place so, so, so much!! Great place for the kids to come and get rid of energy! Wednesday nights are great, they have 1$ admission and your kids will fall right asleep when you get home! Only downside is, their food and drinks are pricy.

Ive been here a few times with my nephews and sister. Its pretty fun, not usually to too crowded. A little pricey for a roller rink, but overall the juice was worth the squeeze. The concession food could definitely improve, Id recommend eating before or after you get there. The skate rentals were pretty good. Newer rental skates than I have experienced at other rinks. Ill definitely come here again.

I’ve had the best time here with my husband and children. It’s family Oriented and the staff are super friendly. The prices are great and the pizza is the bomb !!! Great place to go for a good time.

Very friendly for beginner skaters. They have a center area just for them and these clever things that look like walkers with wheels. Non-skaters can walk on the rink to help them out, too. Plenty of lighted space for spectators, too. Theyre in the kids skate free program, too.

Looking around its obvious the owners love their business and are keeping skating alive. Thank you so much! We hope to be round again soon.

I love this place!! The floor quality is awesome, less slick than at the competition. The derby girls who practice there are super nice, and the staff has everything you could possibly need to skate. They make skating affordable for everyone and are very accommodating, plus advertise to sign your kids up for FREE skating! They genuinely want people to enjoy skating and have fun. (Just speak slowly to the kid at the skate rental booth ;)]

Hot Wheels is the to go to activity center for children of all ages and family as well. They do so much for their customers and really dedicate their business to creating a good family fun atmosphere.

My roommates and I have been going with their little kids and well all love it. Great staff, great music, and I always enjoy the atmosphere! Also love they have times in the morning for the summer. Will bring more friends to come skate and have a great time!

Great place!! My 3 and 5 year old daughters love it. My 5 year old is speeding around after 2 visits and my 3 year old is well on her way. The trainers they rent for the little ones are awesome. The rental skates and blades are in good shape and the staff is friendly. Good family fun. Takes me back to grade school skate night!!

It was a decent rink, however some of the comments about safety are spot on. They make some announcements on where you should skate but no one is enforcing the rules. There is usually one ref who is doing double duty as a counter guy and is friends with the dangerous skaters. Today I witnessed these reckless, extremely fast skaters knock two people over, both which needed medical attention and the ref laughed it off later because they are his buddies. Not cool. They should have not been allowed to skate that way, and if they twice knock people over kicked off the floor.The facilities are worn, and dated. This is the only skating rink in town so I get it, but I have been to a lot of rinks in my time and this is NOT one of the greatest by far.Ask any lawyer, a little sign that says skate at your own risk means nothing. There is liability on the manager and owners and safety really needs to be addressed.Also why is it that if I bring my own skates I still had to pay 6.50 to get in as someone who is renting skates? Myself and my two kids have their own skates and there was no discount applied? Seems very unfair.

I skate at Hot Wheels about once a week. Its a great place to skate. I also skate at other area rinks; Sparkles, and The Cooler. I enjoy Hot Wheels the most.To remark on some of the other reviewers; Ive been skating at Hot Wheels for over a year and have never skated but one direction. Why would you; I dont know but its never happened anytime Ive been there. On songs and lyrics; Ive heard All about that bass by Meghan Trainor there and the song definitely says the B word. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays it gets quite crowded and sometimes seating is at a premium but for Hot Wheels thats a good thing.For the most part; the music is good and not too loud. Sometimes attention needs to be paid to all the trainers on the floor to get them all toward the center of the rink. Im not a racer or game player but most other rinks do those too. The arcade games seem to broke a lot but I dont play them; I go to skate.The people that work there all seem to be friendly.

This place is fine for kids, but not much for adults that might want to get nostalgic or skate with their kids. The skates for rent are extremely heavy. But the main issue for adults is the floor is linoleum instead of the old skate floors we used to skate on. This makes skating (with the rented skates) tedious, like skating through water. You cant pick up speed on the floors. However, what is bad for adults is great for kids. Keeps it safe for the littles kids, Ive seen kids as young as 2 and 3 skating just fine at the edges. Wednesdays are dollar days, dollar entrance fee and four dollar skate rentals, so plan on $5/skater. Food is pricey but probably cheaper than most rinks, I just dont like spending $5 on a bag of cotton candy!

First time here was fall 2016 for birthday with my daughter. Been back many times since. At times youll have the rink to yourself, others there will be a lot of traffic. The music is sometimes slightly profane but they take requests.Great place for indoor exercise for kids and just to hang out.

I took 4 of my grandchildren there on Sunday afternoon family skate. Got a great deal on groupon. Not too crowded for small kids., we had pizzas that were just great. The kids cant stop talking about the fun they had and yes we will be returning. The staff was great too!

I enjoy going and skating with my children . Great friendly atmosphere. Could use a few more tables, they dont have enough seating for everyone on busy days. Alot of people hold tables and are not eating. Maybe they could use some more seating around rink .

My family and I love the new direction that Hot Wheels has been taking since coming under new ownership and management. A few years ago we went there with friends, and did not have a very good experience. But we decided to go back just this past February and were blown away by the difference. We quickly became regulars, and go skating at least twice a week, if not more. They have upgraded their snack bar and menu, which we eat dinner from regularly, and totally love their pizza!!! We travel a lot and like to visit other rinks, but Hot Wheels is our home rink, and we love it! Not to mention, the deal on admission for families....cant beat it anywhere!!!

As an employee of Hot Wheels I can easily say its my favorite place I have ever worked. The owners are kind and caring about both their employees and customers. And we as employees enjoy our jobs and helping create a fun time for the families that come in!

Love this place, its a fun place to skate and have family time. We had our daughters 6th birthday party here last summer and it was sooo much fun. It was easy to book the party, the staff is great and very helpful and it was very clean. We have been back several times, they play great music and its always a blast.

I have always had a great experience here but tonight ive seen a few people trying to get something from the concession stand and all the staff is sitting in the office. These people are having to stand there until someone goes to the other counter to get some help. To me that looks very unprofessional. Hope they get it together!

My family and I have been going to Hot Wheels for two months - twice a week. Weve enjoyed it. We always order food; which isnt too bad - hot dogs and pizza. The pricing is fair. The staff have always been nice.So why the three stars?It seems that Hot Wheels only skates counter clockwise around the rink. This past Tuesday, when the crowd died down, my daughter and I were the only two on the floor. We started skating clockwise; after all its a quit different experience. A few minutes pass and a few more people get on the floor and skate clockwise with us. After a few minutes there were seven people skating clockwise - kinda neat.I noticed a lady that was on the floor skating clockwise go to the counter. The guy working the counter announced on the loud speaker that everyone needed to stop and start skating the right direction. My family left the floor. We turned our skates back in. I walked up to the guy at the counter and asked him what the RIGHT direction was. He said thats just the way we normally go. I asked Do you ever change directions? He replied sometimes. He then stated they just need everyone skating the same direction. I replied everyone was. He returned; I know, but someone complained about skating the wrong way. The interesting thing here is that I turned around and looked at the floor and the lady that complained wasnt even on the floor.I grew up skating ( a long time ago). The rinks I went to rotated direction. I dont know if its the norm anymore; but Ill leave this review with a suggestion to alternate directions. It makes for a better skater.

Came here a few months ago. My brother fell and sprained his wrist and the staff (who very well knew that he hurt himself) didnt do a thing! They just sat there! We couldnt even get ice! We took him to the emergency room soon after. Could have at least helped!

Me and my family had a great time at Hot wheels. they have new owners and restructured the layout a little bit which allowed us to have an awesome time. prices are so much better than Sparkles and for us, its more conveniant

Were considering having my daughters birthday party here in March but after a visit today we were really disheartened and hope the owners step up and make a lot of corrections. Today the concession stand was out of a lot of food, icee machine broken, the arcade has many broken games, there are a lot of lights inside that are missing bulbs or the bulbs are blown, the effects on the skating area were minimal as some of them were blown or going bad, my wife tried to use the womens restroom and no one was keeping it maintained. The bathroom stall door had no lock and there was feces all over the wall. Not only this but they nickle and dime you to death. $2.00 for a refill on a large drink thats already $3.00. Maybe consider 1 free refill. Hoping management will work on the many issues that are preventing this place from being top notch. All it really needs is attention and some TLC.Spoke to the owner and he assured me things are being fixed and he made it right.

GREAT FUN - GREAT VALUE - GREAT ENVIRONMENTWe first went to Hot Wheels for a school skate night. My five-year-old son really seemed to enjoy it. We started lessons shortly after. My son has gotten very good in a short amount of time. In just about 20 lessons, he is super confident on skates and roller blades, and with good reason. He has gotten consistently better with each lesson. He has learned to skate backwards, shoot the duck, and other tricks. Presently, hes learning to turn around while skating to go from skating forwards to skating backwards with out stopping. The best part is the independence that skating gives him, plus the free skates after 15 lessons are nice.The soft pretzels a huge and delicious. Pizzas we had a birthday party there were good. A whole pizza for $10 is certainly a good deal for the price.I have been to parties at both Hot Wheels and Sparkles. Hot Wheels is certainly a more personal experience, and the prices are much more reasonable. The kids had fun at both. You can go pay more at Sparkles to try to impress others or yourself, but if the skating is the fun part, then there is no reason to go anywhere other than Hot Wheels. The skate floor is bigger, and I have never seen fights over tables there, like I did at Sparkles. Hot Wheels is a very kid and family-friendly, safe environment.Simply a super value for family activity and exercise, so much so, that at 44, I am just learning to skate, so I can enjoy it with the rest of my family.Highly Recommended.

This has been one of the best places so far this summer to take my children. My oldest (9 years old) has Aspergers and has fallen in love with skating. Her younger sister (7 years old) has picked up on how to skate in 3 sessions. This is all because of the wonderful staff at HW. Brian the owner is very personable with the children, making the $8.00 skate lessons (includes the skate rental and open skate after) enjoyable and fun for the kids to participate in. I will say that the music is not edited and some of the songs have swear words.I think that this is a great place to bring the kids, and the nachos and hotdogs are pretty good. (We havent tried the pizza yet).

The staff is friendly but on Sundays its got to be 90° inside. Admission is $8.00 without skates. Thats a steep price. The rental skates are of quality.

Horrible experience. A total rip off for birthday parties, the employees and the managers are rude to the customers. The skates are tore up. I will not return to this crappy place. The birthday package was about $100 for 3 kids which does not include FOOD! Freaking rip off.

I didnt like this place and i womt be back. Rental skate are just horrible the pair i got were beat up when i went back to switch put my skate they rude kept eye balling my wife the two teenagers kept mumbeling stuff under their breath and when i finally got my skates they were the wrong size this place doesnt know how to run a skate rink music was good just nothing you can skate to i think the only thing good was the pop i had

Hot Wheels Skate Center has become my families Home away from Home.. We come EVERY wednesday for the $1.00 skate night and we come on the weekends. All three of my children (8,6,2) skate and have developed such confidence in themselves that Im astounded. They have become independent and proud of themselves. My children have learned so much from skating and its a great work out. The music is wonderful you get a taste of the 80s,90s and now. The D.J. plays games with the skaters including races. The owners, Whitney and Ryan, are ALWAYS there. IF you ever need anything the staff will help you or they will figure another way out to. The arcade is another thing for your child to do, honestly, my kids rather skate. The owners have upgraded the rink so much they have a BRAND NEW floor (its shiny and Pretty), there is a projection screen on a wall and for the dads catch a game or two. Moms can read a book while the kids skate or rent some skates and get a workout at the same time. I love the prizes the kids can choose from besides candy.Please come to this rink you will love the atmosphere. You can instantly tell the difference between a family owned rink from a chain/corporate rink. You wont be dissatisfied. Parties are cheap and you get 3 hrs of fun, Roller Derby girls practice during the week as well... They offer skate lessons for beginners to advance, clean your skates, order skates, get advice on anything skate wise.. Hope to see you there...

I used to take my daughters to skate a lot to HW and it has always been a friendly place, the rink is always clean, spacious and well lit. It was my youngster choice to celebrate her 10th birthday there. The party was below my expectation. Without knowing that the business is under new direction I contracted the package for 20 guests, three pizzas and three drinks. The party started at 5pm and the drinks and pizzas came only one hour and 15 minutes later - that was not explained when I contracted the party. We asked for drinks earlier and no one cared about bringing them. The pizzas were awful - one of them I sent back because it was charred - they came cold and it was hard to eat them. The staff was nice but clearly missing orientation on how to deal with patrons requests. Also, when we complaint about the pizzas nothing was done to make up about or accommodate us. Clearly I dont feel like having another party at HW.
