A little gem in Eastern Prince William. The home dates to 1747, and I hope to explore it sometime, but as a place to take a walk with our dog it is simply wonderful. The property has lots of little paths, a teaching garden, cool breezes, flowers here and there, views, birds and sweet smells from the native and cultivated plantings.
Bring bug spray for the mosquitos! We just wandered around the property on a Sunday evening. The gift shop was already closed so we didnt go inside the house. It was easy to social distance because no one else was there. I would like to come back some day for a guided tour to learn more.
Very interesting site. We enjoyed the tour of the house. Learned a lot about history of the area.
Saw a ghost through the top window here when I was a kid. recently came back and Its a beautiful place, I would also haunt it.
Great walking, excellent nests for PoGo
Well run museum rich in historical information. Very relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy the experience.
I explored just the grounds on this visit, my first. Will return to share the lodge with a friend. There is a lot to see, theres a garden that attracts beautiful butterflies. I found their beehive by accident, good thing I had read about it. You dont want to excite the bees.
Just happened upon this place while exploring nearby our campground. Very nice staff, beautiful historic property with a huge garden that they let you pick from! We picked some fresh veggies and herbs and used them in our dinner that night! Will definitely go back to explore more of the property and the garden!
Nice historic location. Well maintained. Could use a few more signs to describe the various outbuildings and such.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this site. Very historic and great location.

Beautiful site. Attended a wedding here. Was very open and spacious, main downside was that it was dark and hard to see at night once the sun set and tons of mosquitos and insects.
