Usually sleepy but charming this time of year with the covid virus this resort is nothing more than a boring room. The pool remains open but there are no lounge chairs and no one appears to have used it. The barn is closed so no ping pong or pool table. Nothing to do. They are constantly making improvements but none of them make sense or make the property better. Not a resort.
A wonderful old place to stay! It even has rooms that have a separate bedroom so we could have privacy from the kids. Their washers and dryers are great, the pool is indoors and warm, its a beautiful place with very lovely staff. Having our own kitchen helped a lot as well, since we stayed during a heavy snow and many places were closed, so we didnt have to worry about going out to find food. The whole town is great, especially with Morrisseys Front Porch almost across the street. There are two grocery stores and a couple pharmacies as well for all your needs.
Staying in a villa . Has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans, glasses coffee mugs, and silverware. Very nice
It’s ok. Clean. Nice location.Bed was way too small, it was not a real Queen. Front desk person wasn’t wearing a mask.
My husband and I have been married for almost 50 years and have stayed in many many hotels. This stay was so disappointing for us. We had booked the room in order to see our 9 year old grandson race in a ski event. While we were having dinner watching some TV a large bug crawled out of the couch cushion. We were speechless and of course upset. We tried to get some sleep but in was interrupted many times during the night. Before daybreak I looked up to the ceiling and right over my head there was another one. Needless to say we got dressed and waited until the front desk opened and checked out. We saved the bug and I told the clerk she could go upstairs and see another one on the ceiling (Lucky I couldn’t sleep and saw it before It fell on me.) The appliances were dirty but we didn’t have to use them. I hope this is a wake-up call to the hotel and they fix things up. It’s a great location in Wolfeboro and has a nice pool and areas for guest to relax, play games and have fun with their families.
Cozy little resort. The room has a full kitchen. There is a salt water, heated indoor pool. And the vending machines are reasonably priced. Friendly staff.
Favorite spot to shower and recharge. Might see a famous actor or comedian if your lucky.
We were only hear for a night but the pool was great minus finding a bandaid in it. I don’t think everyone followed the shower before entering the pool rule. We loved the couch and found trash underneath. Other than that, the front desk lady was really nice and explained everything well. We stayed in one of the studios villas. Have room to sleep 6 with two pull out couches, small kitchen, all the dishes etc you need. I used to clean these rooms in high school. Brings back memories ️
Very relaxing and no one bothered us.
Wolfeboro is a wonderful vacation town on the lake, and Windrifter keeps their rooms clean current, but they did an awful job on the docks, put a few nasty gouges in the gel coat of my boat, and they wont pay for the damage.
Liked all the options for activity on the grounds alone. Convenient to shops, yet liked that resort is in open space. Liked the special pricing for when we were there.
Its very neat and clean. The pool and pool area is very nice. You can swim year round.
Nice place to spend a night if your in the area to visit or spend the weekend. The front desk people are extremely helpful and willing to provide some insight to areas to visit in the town such as activities to do or restaurants to eat at. I booked this place and got a room last minute for my trip and was pleasantly surprised.
They have a fridge and electric stove that was nice. Was going up for my friend wedding at the Wolfboro Inn but had to make last minute reservations for me and my girlfriend. I Called a few hours ahead of arrival to see if we could check in prior to our 4pm check in (strange on how late check in was and their lack of flexibility with it, but are super strict about checkout and will charge you by the hour if not out by exactly 10am) we would probably be there by 2 as we were coming from the Boston MA area so about 1hr and 45/50 minute drive. I called at 11, front desk women seemed irritated and just said they would try. Get there at 2, lady at the front desk (I think her name was Joyce/judie?) Said the room was ready had me fill out a form. Never was told I could get two keys so when I had seen there was an option for keys and asked about the vague highlighted area on the page she responded well then fill it in with 2 and continued to eat her yogurt. Ended up telling me that she was wrong after all that and our room was actually not ready and to come back in about an hour or so and that they would call us and to get a cup of coffee downtown even though they had some in the lobby and it was about 2pm and I also dont know the area so had no idea where to get coffee for a possible three hours (super vague timeframe, place was not busy and not too big maybe they have only one cleaner...? Next day asked for cleaning & a few hours later still not cleaned.
The resort is perfect. It’s an older place in a beautiful quiet town. My family and I came up here for a visit with my niece so just hanging out by the heated indoor salt water pool and playing in the game room is perfect!! My children and niece haven’t wanted to leave the hotel at all, I’ve had to drag them away. The staff here are so kind and helpful. Even in the winter there’s so much to keep them preoccupied. The room we are staying in, is a studio apartment, which is a perfect size for the five of us. A cute small deck overlooking the snow covered golf course is so beautiful and peaceful. Wolfeboro is a tourist town so many of the museums and other places we wanted to visit aren’t open, however Rochester,NH is a quick 30-40 min drive for shopping and fun. This is a place we will be visiting again and again!!!
We stayed here because we were attending a wedding nearby. The room was not very clean, the floors were sticky and there was soap scum on the handle of the tub. There were several broken light bulbs, in the bathroom and the lamp near the bed, the lamp was also very gross and stained. There was damage to the wall near the bed and cobwebs in the room. The bed was tiny and not very comfortable. It was NOT worth the $180 that we paid. Highly disappointed.
Pretty spartan place. Bed had no frame. Charged my credit card for $100 for no reason. Workers on Sunday morning making loud racket with saws and hammers.
Great get away close to downtown
This is a great hotel located on the Kingswood golf course. Indoor pool and very affordable. We stayed in a room with a small kitchenette and queen beds. The beds were very comfortable and our stay was quiet and relaxing.
Was an okay place. Room size is nice. Had kitchenette which was needed. Bed wasnt very comfy. Looks like rugs needed replacing.
The room was very comfortable and roomy. Would recommend thus place
Always pleased with my time share. Every year great improvements. Yacht club is looking good.
Great bargain
Great place to stay! The staff was great amenities were great....
Nice location and people but only a Murphy bed and it was really uncomfortable.
Stayed there for a week. Loved the town, and loved the Windrifter Resort. This place had awesome polite staff, and a very cozy room. Pool was great. I took one star off from being five star for the toilet in the room. Ive never had to use a toilet soo low to the ground....and the shower was a little small and tight . Other than that is was a great stay. I look forward to returning next year and many more to come.Dennis P.
The rooms are great. Lots of cool designs on the doors. Seems like it was an older building that was converted into a hotel, which is awesome
It was very clean and comfortable. Its not a hotel and not advertised as one. Its a time share. The furniture was older, but comfortable. The staff was helpful. Its very close to all the fun stuff to do in Wolfeboro.
Attended annual meeting. Well done. No drama (A good thing), Very capable Staff.
This is a great time share in a small town. Rooms are simple but clean. Love the pool!!Walking distance to down town summer or winter. The barn would make a great place for a party. Im thinking of asking my family up for a anniversary party.
I guess the best word to describe is outdated. There was nothing inherently terrible about our stay, but everthing seemed like it was still from the 70s/80s. The bathroom was in the worst condition. The painted walls looked like the have been chipped for a while plus the bathtub was cracked and the drain cover was completely rusted over. Additionally they require you to bring out your own trash to the dumpster, isnt that the whole point of housekeeping? Overall 6/10
My dad lives up here so I come up twice a year. This is the only place I can honestly call Me time! Best views, quaint town, clean rooms. If your looking for a quiet, serene stay then this is def the place!
Nice inn. Not super fancy, but the rooms are nice. The indoor pool is nice. Workout room and saunas in the basement. All around great place. I have been going there for a long time.
This is an old inn in Wolfeboro, NH that has been turned into a time share back in the 70s. Nice barn for rent. Been to several weddings in the barn. Also have lakefront property downtown on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Very outdated, low quality of furniture and appliances. HVAC work very poorly either it was too cold or too warm could not get a stable 73-74 degree temperature.
Love this place.
Great intimate wedding destination
The Windrifter is a quaint building in a great location. The rooms are clean and comfy. Everyone is friendly & accommodating. And the lake is beautiful! Would definitely stay again.
This is a great small resort. Lots of fun things for the kids. A short walk from an excellent down town area.
Great place on lake street to have a relaxing vacation
I have been going to the Windrifter for just about 40 years and do NOT have a bad word to say...Very family friendly and staff are always polite and courteous. Nevermind that the town is friendly and so quiet that no traffic lights are needed!! They also have an indoor pool!!
Family friendly and no traffic lights at all in whole town
Charming little place. Love the amenities and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. But dont listen to them on pizza recommendations.
Cute little place, not too fancy but comfortable.
Good location, decent amenities, friendly people.
Rooms are small but adequate for 2-3 people. Needs some updates but overall great place. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean.
Fantastic value. Beautiful place to visit. Christmas time is so much fun.
Room above office overlooking parking lot. (Vacancy available) so that was not only room left. Doing renovations right above us. Hammering started early in morning and continued both days. Perhaps we could have been place away from the Facility is old, drab, very outdated. Could not even call it rustic. Floors were sticky, carpeting was worn and dusty looking. Bed was supposed to be a twin - was not more than a double. Only one pullout - supposed to have two Linens outdated and worn on bed. Airconditioners - wall and window very noisy. Supposed to have a large soaking tub. Did not have. The only thing modern thingin th room were the Televisions. It looked nothing like the advertisement. For 175 per night it was a huge disappointment. Perhaps we could have been given another room another room away from the work. I woiuld not recommend this hotel listed as resort.
We have one week membership for a one bedroom (sleeps four) time-share, but can use the facilities without restrictions year round. We take advantage of a fairly liberal usage policy by swapping our set days for scattered dates for friends and family. In addition we use the exercise room and sauna several times each week. There also is a seasonal tennis court and indoor salt water pool. In addition there are several rooms available for events at additional fees. The place is kept clean but is neither modern nor quaint (except for the barn which has character) although renovations are constantly in process to bring the place more up-to-date. They are a little slow in repairing exercise equipment and other common use items.Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful and it is a short drive to town center of Wolfeboro which is a nice place to shop, stroll, or take a seasonal trolley tour.
Editing from previous review: murphy beds are gone, so much more comfortable and as usual, the staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Bonus: this place has the best wifi of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Will definitely keep coming back!
The resort is very nice one of the better hotels in wolfeboro
Bed was OK, not updated (mine was old Murphy bed) Service was great. Amenities were varied.
Awesome new salt water pool... Inexpensive and quaint and under a mile to the lakes beach or yaught club..
The room had a great view but is in dire need of an upgrade. The beds are horrible. We had 2 pull outs and a Murphy bed and we ended up putting the couch cushions on the floor to sleep. Too expensive for what you get.
Great
Old place but very clean and nice place to stay in a great town
Has a great pool sauna area!!
Best resort in NH! Wonderful staff. Wolfeboro is a beautiful and cozy town as well
Not fully described on line. Amenities like golf course and pool are there but if staying for short stay included in price but not useable.Room had no glasses or cups. Bed is a Murphy bed.
Great place with many games in the lobby. Right near town and had an awesome time.
Awesome place to have a Wedding Function!
Studio apartment was a bit cramped and not as upscale as I hoped. Manager at desk was extremely nice and friendly and allowed us a late checkout which was much appreciated.
We are members and we exercised in pool for over 1 hour then relaxed. Excellent. Thank you.
Nice staff, but the rooms are very dated. Pull out couch was very uncomfortable.
Great place for a family, kitchenette in room, heated indoor pool, friendly staff.
I come here every year for Laconia bike week..very nice staff, clean, beautiful area
Great place for kids to swim during the Winter months. A hot tub would bump this rating to 5 stars.
Cute place. Great for families. Could use some updating but nice overall.
Enjoyed the stay
The location is beautiful and the rooms in the villas are adorable. Loved the indoor pool as well.
A little dated but clean and comfortable.
This hotel will charge you an extra $40 on top of what the price says that it is which is insane and ridiculous. this hotel should be removed from this website.
Clean. Many amenities : DirecTV kitchens pool exercise room and on the same grounds, a short walk from your room to the golf course and Morrisseys Steakhouse, a fine restaurant and pub.
Room was fine. Clean. Close to town.
Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Bathrooms and carpeting need an upgrade, but nevertheless it was clean and comfortable.
Good location. Good amenities in the resort property.
The rooms and proximity to wolfeboro were nice but the noise coming from upstairs made sleeping hard. Very freaky. Id suggest a second floor room next time
Enjoyed my stay
I did not stay on the rooms I just visit their to use their pools and play tennis at their courts. Their pool is always a nice temperature and their courts are fairly new so I enjoy going their often
Great accommodations close to all amenities
Room charge was not as advertised. Horrible condition of some parts of the room. No attempt at making it right, just an apology for the condition. Avoid.
Rooms are a little small but its a good price for what you get.
BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS...If I could give zero stars I would. This place is a dump! Its old and looks NOTHING like what it appears to be online. I just checked out at 10am today and the stay was horrible, I was in town for a wedding and I am eaten alive with bug bites...complegely disgusting.
Nice golf course
Great resort with great hospitality!
Such a cute hotel, friendly staff and clean rooms.
Fun, bright venue for a wedding but the random carpeting was gross and confusing
Great homey place to stay for a few nights!
Friends were staying there. Nice place
Clean, efficient, yankee humble.
The room was old, not antique old but just tired. They get a point for fixing a broken hook on the back of the bathroom door the same day we notified them of the problem.
Very rustic.
Its....fine?
Old charm
Nice place fairly clean
Great place to get away
Solid staff
Great place
Good place
