I was impressed. Not just a military museum. It spent a lot of space on showing how the war affected the general population. Rationing food and gas, for example, was explained in a way that you could understand. It would be a great lesson for younger visitors to appreciate what they have. People make sacrifices for the good of everyone. WWII was a challenging time for everyone, not just those that fought or were in the actual war zones.Definitely a smallish place. But it is full of exhibits that most people could relate to today. Not too long for those less interested people to get bored but still enough for those who consider themselves history buffs to be satisfied with the experience.

My wife and I spent several hours this museum. Many artifacts and facts from the WWII period. The exhibits are beautifully displayed, and especially enjoyed the Time Tunnel, which takes you through the years 1939-1945. The volunteers that one encounters all throughout the museum are knowledgeable and friendly.Highly recommend if you are interested in this period in American history.

The museum is small, but it is carefully curated and maintained. The staff is very kind and friendly. The WWII exposition is presented in a very cheerful, patriotic and presented mostly through propagandish memorabilia. There are some very interesting fact about the war effort. The exposition about Vietnam War is more gruesome and through photography. There collection of the armement exibits is small, but pristine.

Am amazing amount of well preserved artifacts from the era, much larger than me or my father were expecting. Their collection ranges from stamps to tanks and almost everything in between. There was even a display on how Scouts of the time assisted in the war effort. (Being an Eagle Scout I found this section very interesting.)

The Wright Museum is such a gem. We went for the 2nd time in 15 years and it was as great as I remembered. It is thoughtfully laid out by years 1939 - 1945, with a section for each year. Then, you enter the gallery of their vehicle collection, which is so impressive. Many of the staff are veterans who are a great resource for questions, and great for a chat. The price of admission is very fair. Cant recommend it enough.

Great museum focusing on the United States during the WW2 years 1939 to 1945. Lots of information not just on the military but also what was going on at home in every day society. Well done exhibits. The theater was not in service when we were there and a ww2 era tank was on loan elsewhere (disappointing). All in all a very interesting way to spend the day!

While it boast a nice collection of vehicles, scale models and weapons, including one of the few T26 Pershing tanks to see active service in the ETO, the museums real strength is in its presentation of life on the home front during the Second World War. Everything from A to Z including an actual tank (and more) from the war. Uniforms, weapons, film, music of the era. Toys, sundries, look for the hot new game Lets Bomb a German. You get a feel of not only what our troops were going thru but what it was like in the States. We got there at 3 (not realizing they closed at 4... Should have checked those hours) and sure wish we had more time. One of my favorite parts were all the Life magazine covers. A must see if you are in Wolfeboro.

This is one of the best WWII museums in the country located in a small scenic town in New Hampshire. They organize and also borrow first rate changing exhibits dealing with subject such a the D Day Landing, Anne Frank, Saturday Evening Post covers during the war to name a few. They have an excellent home front exhibit that allows visitors to see and hear what Americans were experiencing at home during each year of the war. They also have an excellent section covering the war with an impressive collection of military vehicles and arms. They are run by museum professionals who care deeply about the long term preservation of the collection. This is a museum no one should miss!

This institution a museum, which is literally dedicated to preserving history in its original form, is deactivating rare historic WW2 firearms.Doing so effectively destroys historic artifacts and damages them permanently.History should not be subjected to political agendas or censorship. This is unacceptable. They have removed the reviews on their facebook page after negative reviews came in which shows they will censor opposition who disagrees with their disgraceful actions.I urge people to visit other museums and donate to institutions that PRESERVE history. If you were to dig up a Roman sword, would you grind it blunt? If you were to find an Indian arrowhead, would you break off the tip?Absolutely not. So why would you damage world war 2 firearms? Our future generations deserve to be able to experience them..

I used to love this museum and recommend it to people as a hidden treasure. Recently, however, the board has voted to destroy historic artifacts entrusted to their protection. This nothing but a gutless display of virtue signaling and the board should be ashamed. If you love history like I do, spend your time and money somewhere else.

Yes, this is a museum and it is about WW II but it is so much more. Instead of focusing on battles and tactics the Wright Museum looks at the people and events during the years 1939 - 1945. A series of rooms looks at what was happening during each of these years. Everything from the price of gasoline to the type of letters that soldiers wrote is considered. There are some working vehicles including a Pershing tank at the end of tour to give you an idea of what technology was available at the time. It was well worth our time to visit.

I once supported the Wright Museum’s family day event as a volunteer Living History reenactor and enjoyed it. I felt that the programs that they offered were very valuable to today’s youth who might not be getting exposed to this material in their school curriculum. However, regrettably I will not be supporting this venue again in response to a recent policy turning the museum into a “Gun Free Zone.” This does not only eliminate reenactor volunteers from coming to the museum, on their own time and free of charge to deepen the experience of the paying customer. In addition to this, they plan on destroying countless historical artifacts that are pivotal to the understanding of World War 2 and the “Greatest Generation.”As a military veteran myself, as well as the grand-child of several WW2 veterans, and the son of a Vietnam veteran, I see this as a disrespectful policy to all veterans who have gone to war to defend freedom, particularly the freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and the law of the land.Shame on the Wright Museum for this short sighted policy, shame on the board of directors for passing such a disgraceful policy, and shame on those who feel that this is a good policy.I do not recommend the Wright Museum as a place for people to visit who are looking for WW2 history, and a place that honors the memories of those who fought in that war.
