I could write a book of how much You should love this place. Theres terrain to fit every level of athlete...and more than enough to not be too crowded. The entire winter park village is very welcoming. The only thing that would be better is if Winter Park Resort sent me some lift passes so that I could revel in my time there and write that book for all yall.
Beautiful way to experience winter park is with trail running! I took Ute trail up to the top, which is a tough trail with about 1600ft of elevation gain over 1.8 miles. The trails are well marked and separated from the downhill mountain biking routes which made for a really enjoyable experience. The gondola is open for those who want to bike or just hike at the top!
We were visiting Colorado (Winter Park) on our anniversary. We’ve never been to this area and found it to be beautiful! The staff at the resort was amazing!! I had mentioned that it was our anniversary and they upgraded us to a suite. The room was really nice with mountain and forest views. It was really clean as well. I also appreciated how seriously they took COVID. Would definitely visit again!
Lots of fun for a family. The summer single day pass seems overpriced. Just not enough activities to justify the expense. The Alpine Slide is a blast. But their are only a few other day pass activities beyond that. Why done stars??? This is one of my favorite resorts in the country in the winter. Amazing skiing options and plenty of slopes from beginner to expert. Overall, a fun atmosphere but my favorite time to visit is winter. With that in mind they are doing a good job of offering more reasons to visit in the summer!
Love skiing and biking here. The base area is smaller than with other resorts but the available terrain is amazing. Take the train to here if you can for a great experience!
Horrible company - I bought a season pass for 2019/20, was able to use it just a few days before they cancelled the season. No credits, no partial refund, no nothing. I go to renew my pass for 2020/2021 and they wont offer any kind of discount whatsoever. It was $499 last season and now they want $749 for the same pass and who knows if the season will even happen this year.Ive been skiing here for 15 yrs and they dont value their customers at all.
Just moved back to CO from a 10 yr hiatus. Forgot how good WP is especially the trees on MJ and under the Eagle Wind lift. We were lucky and hit WP on 2 days where the snow just kept falling - free refills! However, WP is much more crowded than what I remember and the new WP base area is pretty crazy. At least the buses worked out well for us allowing us to leave our car parked at the ski condo so we didnt have to deal with driving and parking.
I had the best snowboarding days of my life at Winter Park, it had just dumped a ton of fresh snow every single night! I got to right fresh runs in the back bowls and it felt like nothing I have ever experienced before. Perfect conditions and great terrain put winter park as my current favorite mountain of all time.
My brother and I make a trip here every summer to go mountain biking and we love. Cant wait for it every year. Already excited for next year.
Weekends typically I avoid like the plague.... because today the lines wrapped around the base but its good to get out before Christmas.
Big wonderful beer fest on the last Saturday in March was awesome. We got snow! The drive in is breathtaking and beautiful. You can take the cabriolet from parking lot (costs $15 to park for the day) and theres great views of tubing. There are restaurants that serve drinks, tons of places to shop and rent skis. Wish I tried to ski, but already started drinking beer. There were tons of local shops selling items during beer fest. Lots of dogs, and some children as well. Live music and unlimited beer tastings was a great way to spend the day.
Beautiful scenery and lots of shopping! Great food also. Atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable.
Aweosme resort with tons of variety for all skill levels. Adequate food and beverage locations available at any of the peaks or lift bottoms. There is only one large 6 person lift to the top which is great if its not too windy but can easily be shut down.
We get season passes every year!! We were just there today and the snow has been so awesome! It was a cold one, down around zero, and the wind was blowing, but the skiing was still great. We skied in the trees a lot, and kind of stayed on the south side. The wind was coming in from the north which is normal. We always park on the Mary Jane side (it used to be two ski areas; Mary Jane and Winter Park). “The Jane” has always been the wild side, not as groomed, more bumps and trees, more black runs. Winter Park has the more developed base, places to stay, restaurants, shops. And that is where the medical clinic is for any injuries.
We came to Winter Park on a couples trip and it was absolutely amazing. It was all of our first time snowmobiling and tubing. Being in the mountains on the snowmobile and wnjoying the beautiful views was so worth the trip. It was a total of 16 of us. We will definitely be back.
Rented bikes for the trails. It was awesome! Trails are challenging and the equipment is top notch! Staff was very friendly and the customers on the trails were very friendly and engaging. Everyone was having a great time! Christian gave my wife a great starter lesson and offered me a few tips as well. Did i say it was AWESOME!!
A town you much see if youre in the mountains. Such a great feel and were excited to get back up there soon
I havent been to the resort in the Winter, but I did go this Summer and fell in love! I cant wait to visit in the Winter! The alpine slide was some of the most fun Ive had since I was a kid! The trails look beautiful with the different shades of green in the Summer. The bars are awesome there...the whole village is just a sight to see in itself! I went on my birthday and had the best time! Being new to Colorado as a resident -- were always looking to try new things and places and this one was a hit! I cant wait to go back.
Love this place winter or summer. Something for everyone of any age.
This was my 3rd year going to Winter Park, and my first time staying at the resort. Its always fun, the staff is always great, and the friends and family we bring with us always enjoy themselves. Its a fantastic place to learn about (or teach people about) winter sports.
Winter park is way underrated. It has an excellent and well diversified trial system that suits every level of skiers and boarders. The lift system is the 1st class. The number and quality of long green runs can be matched by few other resorts. If human sized moguls of Mary Jones are not enough for you, go to top of the mountain to try back country styled runs on the back of the bowl.
Ive been to Winter Park twice, both times over Christmas break. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The terrain is great, (I like the Mary Jane side). Lines in peak season tend to get long at times. The village is nice and has everything that you would need.
Everyone is super friendly. In the winter there’s the typical snow stuff. In summer they go all out! Downhill biking (really fast), alpine slide (REALLY fast), mini golf (as fast as you choose). Lots of kids activities. Today, for example, they had a dog jumping competition where dogs try to jump into a lake as far as possible.
Great terrain and back country access. Nice groomers and lodges. Reasonably priced food and lodging. Great shops and restaurants. Gondola super gauge etc..incredible summit views. Great ski school for kids. Tubing, cabriolet, shuttles. No question why it was voted USA Today’s top ski resort 2019.
It is beautiful here and there is much to do! Check out the gondala day passes and splurge for the mini golf. Lots of tables to pack your own picnic or choose from a good selection of restaurants. Highly recommend!
Great resort, great skiing. Taking the winter park express train was the perfect way to get there. It runs at 7am Fri, Sat, Sun and leaves at 4pm. If you can make those times work, it is absolutely the way to get to the resort.
Awesome Mountain!!! Terrain for all skill levels. Learn the flat spots near the lifts, you’ll need the momentum. The scenic views are magical!!!
Wow! I came here about a few days ago and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The thrill of skiing and the fun of tubing is immense. Personally I was terrified to do either things, but if you give yourself a bit of time to get prepared then I guarentee you will have a marvelous time.
Alpine slide is so much fun. My kids loved it and so did Mom and Dad. I will be going back for sure.
Such an awesome place. First time here. Will definitely be coming back.
Beautiful, amazing, great service, and people! Absolutely loved this place, would love to come again.
Never been here in the Winter, but the Trestle park is sick. Runs for every level and if a friend pushes you, try something a bit harder. They fix trails here and there so its worth it to check it every week and maybe, your favorite trail got even better.
Great all year around. This is quickly becoming the best mountain biking resort in the country. You will not be let down at this visit
Spectacular place with expert instructors.Stayed in a gorgeous condo and skied for 3 days with some family friends, private lessons each day. Kevin, Jeff, and Greg were some of the nicest, most genuine people Ive met, great skiers and skilled teachers. They had patience and encouraged us when we faltered. They took hills as slow as we needed, but challenged me when I asked for it.They were also thankful to have people who wanted to get better, not just bucket-list skiers, as Jeff called them, who just want to ski the biggest hill they can and then never ski again. We treated them for lunch all three days as a gesture of our gratitude.Overall, this place was HUGE and absolutely breathtaking. It snowed while we were up there the 3rd day and the fresh powder was light and smooth to ski. Plus, the tree trails had my heart.Beautiful mountain + enjoyable ski instructors = a spectacular experience Ill never forget
Learned rodeos here! amazing terrain park! Staff friendliness: 100
I was pleasantly surprised by this ski area. Much larger than I realized. Nice long runs. Some boring run outs to deal with, but otherwise splendid. Didnt get to explore the Cirque but the snow looked great. Would love to ski here on a fresh dump.
My first time at this park and it was a blast. Carl was our ski instructor for the day and he was very patient and helpful to all of his students. The park was very busy, but it was also a beautiful Saturday after many snowfalls. Id like to come back when its less crowded due to my skill level being so low that I always felt as if I was in the way of more skilled folks. Still, awesome park with great snow!
Resort town, good social distancing protocols, gondola ride was fun but the price was steeper than the lift.
Lovely place during the end of Summer. We had a great anniversary trip, and plan to come back once we can. We hit the biking trails, and did the activity pass, which kept us busy for the day. We had a great time...
First time I made the drive to WP, A-Basin is my home mountain. I was blown away by the views and sheer amount of various terrain. Only complaint (as a snowboarder) was the amount of time I had to spend in cat tracks in the Mary Jane area. Otherwise, I cant wait to go back and ride there again soon.
The slopes are absolutely amazing. The lift ticket is a bit expensive, but worth every dime. The lifts are fast and easily accessible which means there is little down time from ticket to slope. The staff is friendly and the food stations are nicely located to sustain you on your run.
Colorado is full of beautiful skiing. Its hard to rank one better than the other. My advice is go to all of them if you have the time and money. Then you be the judge which is better than the next. Some are better for the more advanced skier while others are geared towards those that arent as experienced.
Not that many people there. Only one blue open, the rest are green. All trails are nicely groomed. The village has a mountainy feel. They have a gondola from the parking lot to the village but its still a long walk to the slopes. Cant wait for the rest to open!
Cant say enough good things about it. Winter or summer its our favorite destination in the mountains. Get up there!!
This rating is on the scale of Colorado resorts, not overall. WP is way ahead of anything in the East. The Good: large resort, plenty of on-mountain dining options, reasonably varied terrain. Least time on 70 out of any of the big places close to Denver. The Great: if you like moguls and nicely spaced trees, WPs Mary Jane area has those in spades. The not-so-good: the parking shuttles are much worse than Copper. Much of the terrain has long flat run-outs that make what would otherwise be fun runs tedious. Food is expensive. Lines can get long.
Free RV parking during the off season in several of their lots (check website for details). Cant go wrong! Kind of close to the highway but feels private.
Love the old school Winter Park! Rumor is they will be pouring money, like the snow fall last season, into revamping the resort. You cant make perfect better! Winter or Summer!
Winter Park is a well-rounded destination with plenty of great skiing at every skill level. Theres enough to do in the evenings after a quick trip to the hot tub that will leave you energized for the next day. The new gondola (2019) is the quickest way to get to the top and start exploring the many different sides this mountain has to offer. For great bowl terrain at varrying difficulty levels check out the backside bowl!
Awesome mountain biking trails suited for every style and level of riding. It was a great place to improve your skills progressively. Hadn’t have enough of it even after riding for 5 days. Will come back again!
Nice area. Good variety of terrain.
Beautiful mountain with beautiful view.Pros: There are a full range of terrain types for different skiing levels, and they are divided into different territories, so you dont have to worry about running into different type of runs by accidentCons: There are many flat areas in the Winter Park Territory. So, if you lose momentum, or run a little slow, you might have to do little bit of work out to get through those areas.
What a great day trip! We took the Amtrak up to winter park for the day. The little town is so adorable. The people are very friendly. We took a taxi about 15 mins away to take a sleigh ride. That was a lot of fun!!!! I will return and stay at one of the hotels there. They have tubing and skiing/snowboarding that you can do too!!!!
I really love this place. One of the best I know in the world and I will keep coming back. Easy to reach, (compared to some Swiss or French resorts), a variety of tracks well suited for most ski levels. Polite and friendly people, always available to help. This year I felt lift tickets a little expensive. (Maybe a currency exchange rate issue). The village has a great supermarket that allows reasonably priced self prepared meals.
More organic than other resorts, the slopes and their organization take some getting used to. Classifications are also fairly far off in many cases. This is probably not a great place for a beginner, unless you take lessons. However, the slopes are fun, long, and have great variety.
Best place ever, the customer service is incredible, the ski runs where amazing. And the food equally as great. I noticed the ski school staff was very alert and helpful to who ever needed it. I didnt get his name but a off duty instructor was very helpful to my older 14 year old. He went over at the base of the mountain and fixed my sons boots without hesitation or asking.Thank you Winter Park Resort
So great always my number 1 choice.
Downhill biking through the trees and over ramps in the summer and shredding on skis and boards in the winter. This place is killer!
This has long been our favorite place to ski! The personnel all around the resort are friendly, professional, and helpful. They do a great job of keeping runs groomed and the food all around, while a bit pricey, is good. There is a fun variety of shops at the base, the shuttles run well, they have fun events throughout the year, and it is always clean. Well done and keep up the great work!
Winter park has a great vibe that is focused on the mountain and winter activities. They have fantastic amenities and down to earth feel. I was super impressed with my time there!
First time at a ski resort. It was exceptionally cold but we loved the atmosphere. We dont ski.. but just wanted to see what it was all about. Seemed to be great snow and despite the large crowd the facility managed it well.
One of the best family ski resorts in the world. I will fly my family from Canada ages 3 to 29 and self from California to have an excellent time for all here next year.
Best CO resort on the Ikon pass! Its easy to get to the mountain from Denver. Skiers are quickly sorted by ability as there is the winter park side and the Mary Jane side.
I love this mountain!! Missed the storm that dropped like 3 feet by a week, but the snow was great. Late in the third day started to see some dirt coming through near trees, but easy to avoid.
I really want to like Winter Park but I am having a hard time with it. I found the mountain poorly groomed where it should have been. I also felt I had to do a lot of crossing the mountain to get from run to run. That being said I felt the little village at the base is very nice and has a lot to offer.
The snow is good during or after a storm. Weekdays are better than weekends, theres a spot called Goodies and it has excellent bloody Marys and a carved turkey sandwich.A back way to Mary Jane if its busy is the Olympia lift to the high low lift. Depart gondola and head down the green staying left. Be prepared for a gnarly cat walk if going to Vasquez. Vasquez: Best runs without lines but you gotta earn it. You can dip behind the pioneer lift and traverse down a black through the trees traversing left to get to eagle wind.
Our room had 1 king bedroom, 2 queens bedroom, 1 sofa sleeper and love seat, 2 full baths, full kitchen, small dinette, balcony over looking lower slopes and resort. Very nice.Summer activities - Downhill and mountain biking, 2 alpine slides, hiking, disc golf and small mini golf, 3 hot tubs. Many more nearby.
Beautiful place. Great staff placed all around the mountain
We went here in the summer. There was a lot of pretty cool things to do for adults and kids alike. However, it was during major construction and I found navigating around the premises totally confusing. In addition, the lady at the ticket desk couldnt have been more unpleasant. (OK, OK, yes she could have been.) Regardless, the kids loved their activities and I took a mountain biking lesson, which was awesome.
The Winter Park Resort is one of the most affordable and most fun places to go. There are great places to bike, Alpine sleds, and other activities. There are also quite a few good places to eat and shop also.
Beautiful terrains. Friendly and helpful staff. Low/no crowds for the past 2 weekends! I love this resort!
Love skiing here:))) been skiing here since age 2!
Amazing views from the top. Great vibes. Cute village with a variety of restaurants.
Its a really good place if you want to go dirt biking or hiking, or just to chill, this place has it, there are loads of stuff to do there, and when you get hungry, you can go eat at the many diffrent locations it has, and the food is not that bad. I really reccomend this spot to people that have a lot going on in their lives, and just need to relax.
For 25 years this has been my favorite ski resort and a fantastic place to bring your entire family! I love skiing here in March. The conditions are always exceptional! Service is fantastic and they have the best ski instruction anywhere.
It can take a little longer than normal to work out how to navigate this field, but it does reward the effort. Whilst there are some uninteresting runs for the expert skier, beginners and intermediates are well catered to.Mary Jane and Vasquez ski areas have some fun piste skiing, but Eagle Wind territory is by far the most challenging and interesting territory. The tree skiing here is awesome! Its a shame Eagle Wind only has a little chair and it shuts down early.
We took our first family trip to ski out west and we were told to go to Winter Park. It is very family friendly and the resort is clean and the staff is very friendly. We took private lessons from Kevin S and it was worth every penny. He was very patient and knowledgeable. He gave us peace of mind that we could all navigate the mountain. What he taught us made the next couple of days much more enjoyable. The mountain itself is beautiful. We loved all of the shops and restaurants in the base of the village . We rented all of our equipment and the staff in the rental area was outstanding. We cant wait to go back next year for the holidays, we have found a new family tradition!
One of our favorite places to snowboard/ski! Very spendy, but worth it for the most part. If you need a snowboard lesson, Chris is your man, regardless of skill level. He was a super-host, very thoughtful, knowledgeable, and accommodating! If you can, park in the North bench lot and walk, its not far, but get there early.
Very nice place. Everyone is do friendly here. Such a relaxed atmosphere.
Visited in December and had the best time! It was before season started and the slopes were wide open with powder. Go eat a crepe. Got caught in a blizzard on the drive down the mountains. Don’t take your Honda Civic on this kinda trip!
Went Mnt Biking and it was super fun!Theres eatery, liquor, coffee, and clean bathrooms.
Love skiing here! Been coming for well over 30 years. Tragic prices are so astronomical! Only was able to ski again this year because of the flash sale. Really hope they have it every year
Winter Park is a great Ski Area less than an hour from Denver. This is the kind of Mountain you can take beginners or the Seasoned Black Diamond skier to! It is an all around great mountain with everything you will need within minutes of the Resort! I am heading back in 2018.
It was my first time, everything was beautiful. A lot of family entertainment
We spent my 37th birthday on the mountain. It was amazing, I only wish the waffles had been soy free. ️
Awesome snow.. beautiful trails. Blue diamonds especially are my favorites.. resturants almost at the top of every peak...overall a great family friendly resort..
Great skiing, fast lifts, very nice facilities, and a beautiful landscape for all of it. Looking forward to returning when most/all terrain is open, but there was lots to ski in early December this year.
This was my first time on this mountain in the winter! Had an absolute great time! The snow this year is epic!
Dear Reader,If you are a beginner or veteran skier you will find your place here. Winter Park Resort meets the highest standards of taste and decency. The instructors are very well prepared and prepared me to embrace the slopes with confidence. I highly recommend visiting with your friends and/or family.
If you paid for your child to attend the choir festival this April 2020 and are not being refunded your entire investment or compensated otherwise due to Winter Park’s closure, please contact both the resort and your school district to demand action. None of us agreed to or signed contracts relinquishing our investment due to closure, and Winter Park Resort is not hurting for money. They didn’t even offer compensation tickets for next season.
I came here for snowboarding, and it was quite great! The snow quality was quite good, and I enjoyed the wide runs. During the first day, it was too windy so the lift to the top wasnt open, but on the second day, it was open and great. I really enjoyed it! The lines were a bit long and there was an area that was quite flat so snowboarding was difficult on it. I did enjoy my time here though!
NEEDED A QUICK MENTAL GETAWAY!!! Skied Winter Park, the sun was shining the powder was plentiful and weather was great. It was exactly what I needed to get my head back into the game.
Pretty cool boarding spot. Not quite as beautiful of Vail, but certainly has some awesome runs and great tree boarding and parks. Excellent location for beginner, intermediate and advance ski/boarders. Awesome shopping and small town area to hang in afterwards.
Trestle Park downhill bike park blew my mind, even on a kinda wet day. Thank you resort staff for enforcing masks in the public, congested areas, lift lines etc.
We loved being here over the summer. Beautiful scenery, great food, and the Alpine slide was sooo much fun! We got the day pass and basically rode non stop. I will definitely be back!
Breathtaking! This place is perfect for a winter getaway. There are multiple levels of difficulty and you can easily enroll in a training class for a day. 1hr away from Denver, this is a great place. You can rent equipment in Winter Park or also rent in the stores nearby.
Took a private lesson for my first time skiing. Our group had Marty as an instructor and she was AMAZING!!! Beautiful resort! Will definitely visit again!
