(June): The staffs wasnt helpful. Your snack machine took my $4. Its shouldnt be fair that I have call your number. Fulton Y can do better than that I didnt have to call them! I just get my refund
I enjoy most of the Winston Salem YMCAs. However, I touched the scanner at when swiping in. Normally wouldnt but it was having some trouble picking up my tag. The man at the front asked Why did you touch MY scanner? Why did you pick up MY scanner. I apologized but instead of explaining politely. He told me what to do and added Thats all you had to do. Again, I apologized. I shouldnt need to profusely apologize when his job is to help when clients or customers are having issues. Will only be back if absolutely necessary.
I really love this place been great management team THANKYOU
Good customer service goes a long way, my experience has been extremely pleasant at this YMCA location. Staff members are eager to assist and pleasant to interact with every time that my family and I visit the facilities. There are a great variety of classes to attend and most of the instructors are kind, courteous and patient with members. I enjoy the ambience of this location and the customer service is top notch! Good job, its truly a breath of fresh air.
Welcoming customer service great facility needs updated disability bathrooms with drainage for swimming change area
I’ve had a really good experience here. Everyone is so nice and encouraging. It’s a really good environment to work out in.
Friendly and inviting workout facility near downtown. The instructors and staff are always friendly and eager to help. The weights and equipment are clean and the class selection is never-ending. They also have handicap accessible parking, ramps, restrooms, and entrances.
The William G. White YMCA is a great place to exercise and relax. The staff is always friendly and upbeat. This is one of the oldest YMCA locations in Winston-Salem, so the facilities show some wear in spots, but this location keeps renewing and reinventing itself. It also has some special facilities that others do not have. The gardens at the entrance are especially beautiful.
This is undoubtedly the friendliest workout facility in town! The staff members are exceptionally helpful and make people feel that they are very welcome. It starts with a friendly hello from the first staff member at the desk. There is a note of genuine happiness in all the employees that is not found in all of the other Y facilities in town. If you cannot find the exact room for a group workout, a staff member will walk with you to the place you are looking for. If a staff member doesnt have an answer to a request or question, he or she immediately finds another friendly staffer who can help. There is no condescending attitude or im too busy to handle your request going on here. A lot of energy is put into encouraging a healthy lifestyle, respecting people of all ages and backgrounds, and making workouts fun and accessible. Pilates and group exercise here are especially good.
Ive been coming to this Y for about 12 years. Feels like family. Everyone is very helpful. Youll love it!!
Amazing staff. Family atmosphere. Engaging coaches. The gold standard of what a YMCA needs to be.
Been going since middle school and its by far the best YMCA.
Love everything about this ymca.
The sweetest staff you will ever meet! The womens room is also kept very clean and is a great place to go if youre more on the shy side :)
Massive, well-furnished facility. Open all the time. You can do anything you feel.
I posted a review on the TYDE Facebook page last week that has since then been removed by someone other than myself. Due to them removing the post, I am resorting to posting this on that individual YMCAs page. I am disturbed that my review was removed solely because it didnt put one particular person in a positive light. The point of reviews is to hear the good and the bad experiences of a business so that potential customers know what to expect. Not only did someone in the TYDE administrative staff remove my review, they took the option of giving a review completely away which was very cowardly in my opinion and a very poor decision to ensure proper customer service and satisfaction. Here was my original review and I will also add an update.Tyde:PSA if you are considering attending this YMCA to do the TYDE assessment please reconsider. You will surely be disappointed. Leann Day clearly HATES her job and is annoyed with anyone that she has to encounter. I have never dealt with a person that was more rude and confrontational. Why she would be the point person for the TYDE organization is beyond me. She was clearly irritated with being there right off the bat and then explained to us that she gets one to two thousand phone calls a day so sorry if you got misinformed somewhere down the line. After talking to people upon leaving, I have found that this is what she tells everyone she encounters. Basically saying: if youre lucky enough to catch her on the phone, dont expect to get well informed because she doesnt have time for that....ok great thanks! The sad part is that my friend and I (and especially our kids) were so excited to become part of the TYDE team. This experience with Leann Day has put such a bad taste in our mouth for not only the TYDE team but the YMCA in general. Im left wondering if we should just find an entirely different organization.Im only writing this to make people aware of what they are walking into when they deal with Leann Day. We were completely shocked and caught off guard and I want other potential customers to be fully aware of what you get when you go. Dont think this is going to be a lighthearted and fun experience for your kids or for you like one would assume and hope it would be!Update:I was contacted by bob Jennings shortly after this post. He was very polite and apologetic for my bad experience which I very much appreciated. He was also present on the day of our assessment and was friendly and compassionate with our children which of course is very important to parents as well as the kids.Bob offered my son a free swim lesson in hopes that we would be able to have a different perception of the TYDE organization.I will also add that I have friends that are members of this organization and have never had a bad experience and were shocked to hear about ours. However, they had also never had to interact with Leann Day.In my review I do not want to give the entire organization a bad name that is why I mention Leanns name specifically.Again, I very much appreciate bob reaching out to me and trying to accommodate us in some way BUT, I will not remove this post because I want Leann to be held accountable to her actions that day. Had I not called her out on social media, her bad behavior may have never been acknowledged and I want other potential members to be aware of how this woman conducts herself.
The yoga instructor Jacob is fantastic. Hes good with leading all positions but has a special gift leading shavasana.
One of the best ymcas I have ever been to, the staff is great. Gym is great along with the facility
I have been a member of this ymca for 22 yrs. Today Sam Smalls Sr decided to suspend my membership without having a foundation or a reason to do so. I will take this to a highher authority at the YMCA but i want to be clear that this was a form of personal issues that Sam has had. I did not break any YMCA rules and the suspension was not necessary.
Love the people very friendly
