Absolutely amazing. We went for a weekend getaway and it was so nice and relaxing. There was one tiny incident and before we said anything the staff took care of it and were extra kind to us! Highly recommended! We will be going back soon!

Great place, kind people, many fun stuff to do around

Beautiful family-oriented northern Catskill resort. Room was large, had balcony, tv and fridge. Very clean, good linens, bed was firm. Morning Coffee was available at front desk.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. There is so much to do at The Thompson House itself. Plus there are many hiking trails to explore. The Thompson Family are wonderful people who made our stay perfect.

We came for a weekend summertime getaway from Long Island. The staff was super friendly and helpful. 1800s style architecture and family feel made it feel cozy. The surrounding area is gorgeous with a gas station, pharmacy, and many food options very close. Highly suggest checking out Kaaterskill Falls. We loved our stay and would definitely visit again.

The room was spacious and very clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a really nice golf course / Mountain View. Unfortunately, due to a fuel company delivery glitch, there wasn’t any hot water. The owner did apologize and compensate us for the inconvenience of ice cold showers. We have stayed at Thompson House many times without any issues and so we know this was a fluke occurrence and we would still book another stay.

I have wonderful memories of vacations at The Thompson House. Great accommodations, wonderful host and hostesses and fun entertainment. Hope to get there soon!

A lovely family mountain resort. During the summer, they offer great meal plan (breakfast / dinner), which is consistently excellent. Menu varies every day, but it is always abundant and delicious.Most importantly, it is family-owned, and the the family is caring, attentive, friendly and efficient. There are plenty of outdoor activities available (heated swimming pool, tennis courts, badminton, bocce, shuffleboard, hiking), as well as evening entertainment (movie nights, trivia games, bingo nights, comedians, etc).Strongly recommended!

Thought Queen bed was guranteed when booking on Expedia site. Nope it is not Sight led you to believe it was what you were booking. The full size bed was very uncomfortable. A very sleepless night for both of us. The desk clerk said I had requested a Traditional room. I did not know that meant no Queen. I went by the price and ratings. I expected a better room. Also second floor was difficult for spouse to get up stairs to. As his back problems make stairs difficult. It seems like booking through this or any other booking site gets lower quality room. Not what you think.

The Thompson House is awesome! We love it here, come back year after year. it truly is the resort with the personal touch. Nothing negative.

Spacious room. Close to mountain. Breakfast was watery coffee and cereal. Most other places on the mountain are a more full breakfast...especially for the price. Once Skiing...Everyone wanted to have lunch by 1030am. Usually we eat at 1230-1pm. At check in, the lady at the front desk when asked questions, had a “I just work here” attitude which was a bit surprising for a small hotel/lodge.

Very nice and helpful staff, and beautiful location. It is a little outdated but some things are quaint (which gives it some charm).

I have been coming to The Thompson House for close to 20 years straight as my wifes family has had a July 4th Family reunion for close to 60 years running. I absolutely love The TH. The Greene County/Catskills area offers so much. There are beautiful hikes to be taken, Caverns to explore, and amazing quaint towns to visit. The TH has become second home to me and I always tell people that it is probably the only 4 nights out of the year where I truly get to relax. The Goettsche family make the stay so welcoming. People that bring their families make it an annual tradition as the kids love everything The TH has to offer. The pool is great, the grounds are beyond beautiful, and it is a place where you can just have that really old school family fun. Shuffleboard, tennis, bocce, nightly entertainment such as magic shows and bingo. I highly recommend checking it out. You will absolutely have a great time.

What an awesome place!!! We have a toddler, and two young kids. There was Something for everyone!! We all thoroughly enjoyed being at the hotel and participating in activities on the grounds. The food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and accommodating and the rooms were really clean, spacious and comfortable. Also fun activities in the town of Windham. We will be back for sure!! Thank you for a great stay and fun memories!!

Great place. Heated pool, great meals with nice choices . Wonderful and friendly staff only a couple of hours away from NYC. Surrounded by nature, and has everything you would expect from a resort . Family activities included. I had a nice time there.

I had a wedding near by so I stayed here. Mediocre hotel, very old building but silent overnight. Good shower. Close to the main st. Best part was the game room and the outside games, they have everything even croquet.

The views and the pool were top notch. The Broken tv and very uncomfortable matress were not so awesome.

Clean, nice management, close to the Mountain. Breakfast could be improved. No microwave.

I was there for a music festival and loved my stay. The room was lovely. The best part of my stay was the staff. They were all friendly and helpful. I especially adored the server at the breakfast. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome and help make my trip wonderful. Thanks. :-)

Great value for the price! Stayed 3 nights here over Christmas and loved the atmosphere. Close to town and the ski areas, super clean, quiet and with beautiful mountain views. The fireplace in the lobby and the ice rink upfront make it a special winter holiday treat. Will definitely return.

Excellent, Great Place to Just Chill

Our family has been coming over to The Thompsons House every year since as long as I could remember. The staff treats you like family. You are welcomed with a smile. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. The dinners are filling and coffee served hot. You can walk around town and play golf, or even go hiking. The town is family friendly and its quiet. This place is a second home for me and my family.

Great place to just relax and enjoy the company of friends who return each year. We were here July 4th week. Nice golf course on premises.

What a delightful retreat! The place is lovely and the country setting could not be more beautiful. The only complaints are that the pillows on the bed were like sleeping with hardcover books under your head and the overall condition is of the facilities is a bit on the shabby side. Still, well definitely go back next year.

Our family has been going for the last 23 years. The area is beautiful, the food is delicious and the owners have become our extended family. We couldnt imagine a summer without a trip to the Thompson house.

Good place to stay, rest relax - food is great, as is service.

Not just outdated but also mold growing on wet ceiling tiles, collapsed bed (had to switch rooms it was so bad), broken TV. Definitely not worth the high prices. Otherwise is clean and has decent location.

This family resort nestled in the Catskill Mountins is a wonderful place to get away. Friendly and accomodating staff, great food, and a slice of tranquility.

Labor Day weekend - Amazing stay, very relaxing and quiet . Staff are very informative on the area. The room and bathroom are very clean!! Never expected our stay to be so pleasant. Def would come back.

Had a real issue with the heat and although the room was neat it was obvious by the smell the carpet needed to be replaced...yuk. However, people running the place were nice!

There is no microwave and coffee maker in room, there is no hot food in breakfast. from your room to lobby to have breakfast, you have to go from out of building, it is very cold in winter, or you have to put all your clothes on.

We were only there for one night, but it was close to the ski slope, big room, comfortable beds.

The Thompson house is just like going to Grandmas. They are happy to see you and greet you graciously. Our room was warm, spacious and cozy in the cold winter. They also make you a great continental breakfast in the morning.On the negative side, it is also just like my grandmas in that the bed, furniture and baseboard heading are all straight from the 70s.However, the TV was brand new with a wide range of channels. The wifi was good, although it slowed down considerably when everyone returned from skiing and logged onto the internet at the same time.All in all, just like grandmas, where the home is warm and inviting, but the furniture is a bit dated.

Reserved king room, received full size bed, no AC in the room! And no Wi-Fi! - they call it traditional room.When complained I was offered an upgrade for a $100 more!No ice machine in the building, cleaning service knocked at the door at 8:30am!Pool gets closed at 9pm during summer.Staff is clueless when confronted about aforementioned issues. Very bad experience overall.Will never come here again.

Had to book a room at the last minute with no previous knowledge of the place, couldnt have been more pleased with the room or the service.

It was a last minute booking but we had an absolutely amazing experience. Their setting is a bit old style but the place is spotless. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again!
