My mom and I very much enjoyed taking a tour with Erica recently. The price was $12 a piece and included the guided tour. Ours was just ourselves and one other guest so it was very nice and small. Erica was very informative and spent a good amount of time in each room explaining the history of the family, area, furniture, etc. The tour took about 50 minutes and included the house, a brief overview of the gardens, and the old kitchen. This is definitely worth the money if you are interested in history.

Well worth the time and money to visit this historic home. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. I learned a lot about the home, the region, and culture of the time. The home has been mostly renovated and gardens are fantastic. The tour and garden visit lasted for about 90 minutes and we enjoyed every part of it.

I recently took the candlelight tour at Burgwin Wright. I am just giving it 3 stars because you could not see anything inside the house. The tour was too dark to enjoy the architecture and decor of the home. The docent gave very interesting facts, etc. about the home and the history was very interesting. A few more candles or some other type of lighting would be helpful.

It was really neat to see how John Burgwin lived back in the 1700s. I learned while I was there this past week that the whole house had gone under a renovation, and it looks beautiful inside and out. Highly recommended if youre a history buff.

My wife and I like going to these old houses and learning about the history. This one is built on top of a very old jail foundation so that makes it very interesting. The tour guide explains everything nicely.

Very awesome place to learn history and see architectural house from the past. They were ahead of their time when they built this. A lot of ingenuous things that Ive never seen at a house of this age

Nice way to spend a hot day in Wilmington while you are casually strolling around downtown. The house is air conditioned, and the tour runs roughly an hour. There is a charge for the tour - it was about $12 per adult if memory serves. The guides were well informed on the history of the house and those that resided in it as well as the history of Wilmington in general. My wife and I spent 30 minutes before the tour walking around and lounging in the multi-terraced garden adjacent to the house with pomegranate trees, pecan trees, and other flora. Keep your eyes open for little, bright green, jumping lizards (anoles) who live in the garden.

This is a beautiful Museum of Wilmington history. It may be the only Museum in the country that used to be a jail! The restoration that was recently done is beautiful and accurate to the time. You owe it to yourself to see this piece of History, the oldest restored building in Wilmington, North Carolina.

This is one of my favorite sites in Wilmington. Our guide was very knowledgeable, but she did leave out some very interesting details, like this house was used as Lord Cornwalliss headquarters while he was in the area during the Revolutionary War. Still had a great time, and the prices in the gift shop were very inexpensive.
