I really like the Wilmette Theater. It is small like theaters used to be. It is a non-profit so the concession items are reasonably priced. Each time I have seen a movie here, it has been an enjoyable experience. People who choose this theater remember that good manners are still important and seeing a movie is supposed to be fun, not aggravated.
Local neighborhood spot! Great atmosphere, friendly staff that make you feel like your family! Live music, karaoke great food & sports!
The Irishman is spectacular. It is best viewed next door to a theater that is not screening Frozen 2
What an awesome little theater! Wish I lived closer. So glad they had The Last Black Man in San Francisco - incredible movie. Please continue showing these movies that have smaller releases and less exposure.
Nice old fashioned neighborhood theatre. Good selection of films!
Excellent homey small theater in great foodie area with pizza to sushi available at moderate pricing. A great night out.
Cute theater that takes you back to the old days of movie watching
Tiny little fun old times theater.
Best movies/ cozy /retro/intimate space. Indie and foreign films. Suppport independent theater owners.
Such a nice, comfortable place to see a movie, and they show interesting movies.
My wife and I went here to see a movie. It was the first time in more than 10 years. It is great to see this vintage Theater in the heart of Wilmette with so much character. The theater had a great screen, comfortable seating and a very good sound system. What more could you ask for? There is convenient free street parking all over the downtown area. There are many fine restaurants and affordable places to eat nearby. They even offer alcoholic beverages to enjoy with the movie. We will definitely make a point of going back here again. It is also conveniently located within a short walk from the Metra station in downtown Wilmette, or a bus ride on the RTA.
Small, local art house theater with comfortable seats, great adult-style concessions, and superb programming all for an exceptionally reasonable price. Surrounded by a wonderful commercial district with lots of restaurants to choose from for dinner before our after the show. Highly recommended.
Just good movies at a reasonable price. No deafening sound system and great popcorn!
Small, local theatre with all the amenities and more. One of the two showrooms doubles as a live theatre. Current movies, great concession area, comfy seating and great sound. On-street parking or free lot nearby. Love it because its a smaller showroom, but screen is large enough.
Intimate theater, good sound, A/C worked great on a VERY hot day. They pick lovely, little films-not blockbusters, which I greatly appreciate.
This is a great little theater in a fun little downtown.
Nice theater, enjoyed movie night.
A charming little theater that reminds us of the old art houses where we went on our first dates. Nothing fancy, but the movies are always interesting and unusual, and the place has an intimacy the big cineplexes just can’t match. Location right in the center of the village with several great restaurants nearby is ideal. We’re glad to support this local gem.
2 screen theater the had been upgrading over time. Tends to show more independent and foreign movies.
I simply love this old theater
Shows very interesting films. Needs more comfortable lobby benches. Relaxed atmosphere make this a go-to venue!
Cozy and shows great Indy films. Saw moviev Emanuel with q&a afterwards. Like a Goodman experience. Very authentic.
Small art theater with limited to sparse parking. But excellent selection of films and personable staff.
I visited just once but was enough to enjoy how beautiful and comfortable it was, I will be coming back for sure!
No frills, old fashion movie theatre. Unusual films not shown in mainstream theatres. Yummy popcorn and decaf Diet Coke! Friendly staff. Reasonable ticket and treat prices. Make yourself at home.
A charming little neighborhood theater that any town would be lucky to have. Well worth the 20 mile trip in a snow storm to see Pans Labyrinth (10 years after it came out)! Thank you for giving me the chance to see it on the big screen again.
They have terrific films with personalised service. The Wilmette Theater always makes you feel at home. For over a half century I grew up with this theater. They cut it in two theaters a couple of decades ago, but seemed to forget to put in new seating. Now in 2018 Im bumping up my reading from 4 stars to 5, since they finally installed new theater chairs!
At you might expect from a neighborhood theatre, its a smaller more intimate venue. Popcorn was freshly popped and super affordable compared to the big cinemas. Great way to see some of the more obscure releases.
Great movies, lots of choices that you won’t find at the multiplex!
What a delightful theater. The sound is moderate, not blasting like most theaters. Its spotlessly clean, the staff is so friendly you feel like youre home. What a gem!!!
A nice small neighborhood theater where you can often find films you missed in the first run theater complexes.
Nice spot... Nice people
Great small theater and Art Movie house - a throw back to yesteryear. The sound and audio quality is excellent. Great place to take a date who is into obscure or unusual movies.
They play the artsy films which are interesting to watch and absorb. They also let you have beer in the theater which always goes well with their delicious popcorn.
Cozy theater, lower price tickets, movies you cannot find anywhere else.
Great place to see first-run art films. Theyre a non-profit outfit, which means you dont have to sit through 20 minutes of previews. Moreover, I saw two movies here in one day, so the guy only charged me the matinee price for the second movie. Its located in a great surrounding area, too (lots of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, etc.).
Saw An Acceptable Loss. It was excellent.
This is a tiny old school theater thats great for indie movies you might not find elsewhere.
Pricey, pretentious, and paranoid, old-timey bordering on creepy - but sometimes they have the most interesting films around. The most rousing self-promo you could hope for, interesting concession choices and a full menu of extra-curricular activities, but restrooms barely accessible to the able-bodied. A bigger man might not be able to get in the stall. Small, distant screens. Wilmette, often home to white-collar criminals, and location for Ordinary People, doesnt welcome same.
Good popcorn with basic seating.
Nice local theater putting on first run and almost first run movies as well as live entertainment. I have been going to this place for years and likely always will. Good popcorn is a plus.
Wonderful neighborhood theater that plays movies, shows plays, and hosts parties and events. Been in Wilmette for decades and is a great business in the village.
Great place. Support these independent movie houses. We need them.
Love this homey old fashioned theatre
I like to see movies here.
Its a very small space, with only two theaters. Has a lot of charm though, fun for midnight premiers. Also good for seeing Actors Training Center shows
Love this low-key, small-scale place
Comfortable seats, friendly staff and good choice of independent films. Street parking available.
Excellent old theater with some fantastic events in their lineup.
Cute, historic theater. Parking is challenging in this area of Wilmette, though, not the theaters fault.
Nice arthouse theater owned by the village.
Nice neighborhood art house theater
Its a good venue that needs some updates.in the customer areas and larger movie screens.
A small theater comfortable seats accessible parking
Nice little theater. Friendly staff and real butter for popcorn!
Local theater with friendly personal touch and service. Interesting films and live presentations.
Good movies, good prices, horrible lumpy seats
Great place to see an afternoon film, not many friendly theaters left like this one.
Classic theater. ...lovely people working there
Its good for a night out but its hard to see the screen sometimes
Great place for movies and live comedy shows. They also poetry slams which are fantastic!
If you want to go to an old style theater, this is the place to go. The owners and staff are amazing, and I love watching movies and productions here.
The new seats are very comfortable.
Support this lovely arthouse theatre!
Nice, small, quaint neighborhood theater.
