Couple years ago the river was stocked with fish but now there is no fish and the water level is abnormally low. One other thing that I hate is how dirty it is, both the water and the grass. The water has a lot of algae, and people don’t clean after their dogs. Although it’s still a magical site for a hike. It’s truly breath taking. Would definitely recommend overall?

Great section of the C&O canal, plenty of parking here on left and right lots and one road down at the boat ramp parking. Great access to the tow path, river access and visitor center. Plenty of space for day outdoors, picnic, biking, walking, fishing, etc. Aqueduct was recently restored and was really neat to see.

I like the c&o canal. The visitor center is worth taking a look around if its open and you got a few minutes to spare. Not very big but a few interesting things.
