Amazing place. Only reason not five stars is because there was this one weird guy in the middle of the movie who walked out with a flashlight and told me not to share my popcorn with my gf.

I have been coming to Starlight Cinemas for years. My favorite place to watch movies. Plus the prices are great Tuesday and Thursday are $6 movies all day. They have nice new seats. And Its close by to my favorite pizza place Brick House. After the movie you can always take a nice walk through uptown whittier.

Old theatre with stadium seats. Very clean and friendly. Shows all the new movies and has matinee rates.

Always a great time. This last time the theatre was virtually empty because it was early & the first screening. Even with the option of choosing your own seats, the 5 or so other people still sat too close to my companion & myself. While the talking was very minimal the loud chewing was too much. Ugh. Other than that everything was pretty damn good.

Went to see Little Women and theyre charging $10 for senior ticket saying its a Sony picture so cant discount. That should be posted on their website sice no discounts for senior or matinee. For $10, Ill go to another theatre with comfy seats and better sound system

The concession food is reasonably priced as well as the tickets. Theatres were recently updated. Staff is always pleasant. Love this movie theatre!

Worst theater around. Dont waste your money. Not one of the workers knows what they are doing. Asked if we had to pay for a seat for our infant granddaughter and was told no. They sold us the tickets. When we went in they said she was not aloud in! Not one sign around saying this! B.s.

Love my little local theater. I hardly go anywhere else. They have newer, comfortable seats and you can purchase tickets online and choose your seats. They also have a loyalty card which earns me lots of free and discounted items in the snack bar.

We have been coming here for years off and on. The price for a movie is outstanding compared to most theaters. The theater is old does not have reclining seats nor wide aisles. But it is comfortable enough to watch a movie. They always have fresh popcorn and a variety of seasonings to add to it. Tuesday and Thursday before 6pm is $5.00 cant beat that for a first run movie

Customer service was awful! Service was slow. When I spoke to the clerk and was unable to hear her, and requested she speak up. Called me rude, when was trying to extend the courtesy of trying to hear her. We will not be back.In a time when movie theaters offer so many amenities, comforts, much better customer service for about the same price we will no longer patronize our citys theater. Very disappointed.

I love coming to this theatre to watch all the latest movies. Its convenient and the people who work there are great. Parking is never an issue there are a lot of places to eat before or after the movie. The popcorn is always fresh.

My go to spot for watching movies. Has rewards card where you can get points when you buy your ticket and food at concession stand and redeem for food and even pass for a movie. Seats are comfortable and food is decent price. They have early bird prices and Tuesday and Thursday have bargain prices all day. Overall my favorite place to watch movies with convenient off street parking and a big lot in the back

I have been coming here since I was a kid and I have so many fun memories here. It has an authentic vintage theatre feel which gives uptown whittier a great vibe. Always clean and full of helpful staff. Tues and Thursdays are special pricing so be sure to take advantage of their deals.

My experiences at this cinema have always been great whether I go by myself, with friends, or with family. Each screening auditorium is kept clean. The seats are comfortable and the floors are seldom sticky. The workers are friendly from the moment they sell you a ticket, to the moment you buy a bucket of popcorn, or as they direct you to your auditorium. I have never have had a negative experience here. It is a good movie experience every time...so far.

I really enjoy going to Starlight with friends and family.. The entire staff are very friendly courteous and professional. The theatre is very clean. It almost feels like your watching a movie with a whole bunch of your friends..

Nice cozy movie theater. I liked the $6 special before 12pm. After 12 its $8. 3D movies are extra but thats expected. Big thumbs up for the popcorn seasoning powder which comes in multiple flavors no extra charge. Free jalapenos as well (I eat them with my popcorn). The theaters smack Dan in the middle of uptown Whittier which is a great place to stroll around. Its up the street from Regency Christian Center which is a spirit filled holy ghost led apostolic church.

It looks like a small theater from outside and its vintage look is really astounding to see. It is small from inside which can be a nitpick for some people but it shouldnt affect your overall experience.

Whittiers local theatre is a quaint outing with classic Americana small town vibes. It doesnt have the same amenities as a modern franchise cinema but what it loses in comfort it makes up for with charm. This established has been a staple of the whittier community for many years and never fails to disappoint. With renovated screens and upgraded projectors and sound equipment you can enjoy yourself without missing out on the blockbuster experience.

Economical way to go to the movies. Seats are assigned, $5 movies on Sundays. Get there early because theres usually a line to get in even if you bought ahead of time. You need to print tickets at kiosk or get in line to get help printing them.

Great value for your money. Love the Art Deco style too!

One of the oldest, but, coziest theaters around. each theater is fairly sized and not too crowded. Its definitely one of our favorite ones to go to. Plus, theres many restaurants, bars and eateries all within walking distance!

First timers. The minute we walked in I fell in love with this small but awesome theater. This is a clean location with friendly staff and very helpful. Staff answered all questions that we had regarding the rewards program. This was a great experience for us. We will definitely be back.

Didn’t enjoy my experience here, I saw a movie in the Dolby theater. It was hot and uncomfortable to sit there. The seats don’t recline and you have no leg space. People are always talking, luckily the sound is so loud it drowns it out at times, especially the sounds of baby and kids talking or crying. People are constantly coming up and down the stairs not really caring about being disruptive and I had a family next to me that was constantly going in and out of my aisle, so I kept having to get up or make space for them to get passed me ( did I mention the tight leg space?. It’s as if movie theater etiquette had gone completely out the window. It was hard to just enjoy the movie. I don’t think I’ll go back. Ya it’s cheaper then other theaters, but they upcharge the food and snacks and I ended up paying 40Bucks on concessions only. Overall I’d say if your coming to see a movie here that you really want to enjoy then don’t, you have been fairly warned.

Call this place old reliable. It is an older theater that get the theater updated here and there. Lived that they added reserved seating so you can pick online instead of waiting 2 hours before the movie starts. However, I do think it can use some miner upgrades still. Overall its good. Especially discount tickets Tuesday & Thursday

It has improved; I remember when my shoes would get stuck to the floor. Since we can order our tickets online we do not have to stand in long lines. Because the viewing rooms are small even the nosebleed section is great.

Quaint theatre with good prices, and up to date films. Very good popcorn.

They fixed up the place since we were there last, kudos to them. They have new seats which are very comfortable, stairway lighting so you can see better where you are going and or stepping on something. The prices are still reasonable, heck more than reasonable at $5.00 for adults on a Tuesday night when everyone elsewhere is paying twice as much if not more. They also maintain the cleanliness of the place and for that I am grateful because Im one of those germ freaks, I do not touch hand rails, door knobs or public countertops, nasty, most people after touching one of these items will put there hands on their face or grab food with those hands, no thank you..... we watched The Avengers End Game, he! Kind of disappointing, I was expecting different.

I came to this theater with 5 of my younger siblings expecting to see the new spiderman film for $5 before 6pm online Tuesday special as stated on the website and once I got there they stated that due to studio mandated restrictions the lowest for this film would be $10 each. Even trying to purchase online was a scam redirects you, even calling to speak to anyone to be clearly informed is nearly impossible, false advertisement. Never coming back here for this. Made a new trip to commerce 14, price was $6.50 each, awesome theater, new recliner sofas with electric blue bottoms awesomest ever must go there, I recommend this place for sure. Thank you everyone for reading.

Love this theater, small and cozy... Popcorn fresh and icee tasty. Staff are mostly all young but very sweet and you can tell they all get along. They work together as a team. I love the location of this theatre. You can go for a bite or drink and window shop after your movie. Great job staff!!!!

Definitely better now owner has changed very dodgy before with some almost illegal practices going on but glad staff better treated now that there is new ownership.

Great place. I took my daughter to see Mary Poppins Returns and she loved it. She got a kids box with fresh popcorn, fruit snacks and a drink that she enjoyed. The theater was smaller than I expected but it was actually better because you feel closer to the screen and not claustrophobic from too many people around you. Great customer service all around. The only downside is the small bathrooms. The women’s bathroom was a bit cramped and the changing table was inside a stall so standing there waiting with my toddler in my arms was hectic. I would still definitely go back though because of the great service and overall great atmosphere.

We saw the new remake of Pet Cemetery. After reading the book before the first movie. I should have known that this movie would be just as off from the book as the first . I will say better then the first movie

Always been a move theater for the local community. Always worked to please the community with great deals. Accommodating and thorough staff. You can choose seating now which is good. Certain days are 5 dollar days which made it a mad house at times but the fixed that proven with assigned seating. Seats were updated but dont recline... bummer. But Ive always been a fan of this place and for 5$ its a great option. Some movie screens are small. If the seats were reclining and the screens were bigger 5 star all day. If they had room I believe they would. But my honest review its legit.

This movie theater has been around for years and they are still the best deal in town. I really like how they have managed to keep updating their ticketing buying process and they have assigned seating when you purchase your ticket online and in person. Theyre main screen has Dolby Digital sound which I love. The staff are fast and friendly, I rarely have to wait in a long line for popcorn. Yet they still have a classic movie going experience.
