Very friendly people and a beautiful historical building.
A quaint little museum in the heart of Whitefish, there are a bunch of interesting tidbits about the history of the town. Dont miss out on seeing the elusive fur-bearing trout ;) Free for entry, but there is a little tip jar for the museum staff (who are very knowledgeable, and gave us a great tour of the place)
Some great history about the area and especially about the railroad. Some cool artifacts and a while lot of pictures. I found the pictures and write-ups on train wrecks especially interesting. And it is all FREE!
Great little museum. Half of my family grew up in Whitefish so it was nice to see some of the history. Talked to one of the volunteers and they seemed quite knowledgeable about the area. We were there during the posted times but they said it has been hard to staff it lately.
We spent about 25 minutes here. It is free and the staff are great! No pictures are allowed but they have some very neat stuff.
This is a great little museum. If you have a half hour to an hour you will enjoy this museum. Lots of small artifacts with lots of pictures about the history of the area. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. If you need something you can do in a half hour, you should check it out. It is located on the east end of the train depot.
Building looks nice from the outside. Second anniversary trip here to Whitefish and Museum not open though on the web it says it is. Im giving up on this point if interest.
Make a couple of trips to see this museum and according to the posted hours, it should have been open. Sadly it was closed both times. I understand the need for volunteers, and the staffing uncertainty this causes, but please, either keep to the posted hours or change them.
Got here before 11 to wait for the museum to open. Its now almost noon and its still closed.
Hours of operation are incorrect on both Google as well as their website for the winter.
Awesome place and packed with cool stuff
Not open during posted hours.
Meh...
