It was nice I would come back

Everyone was friendly and rooms were clean. Only issue was the sink didnt drain well and tub faucet didnt fully transfer to shower head so you were standing in water and not full pressure for shower. Still very clean though. Not all machines are open for gambling but enough for the amount of people. Was always able to find machine. Didnt gamble at tables but a good amount open on Sat night. Overall a fun experience.

Like it netter before it got bought out. Still had fun for the spontaneous 2 hours I was there though. Great COVID practices. Temp taken, picture taken, masks must be w.orn until at a machine. Social distancing between machines.

Many, many machines down right now, hard to find a place to play. There is a designated smoking section, but whole casino smells of smoke. Long line at the bar to get a drink. Parking lot is dim and not well lite. Better off going to the Meadows a short drive away.

It was nice. Several machines were not working. Some had issues with my new card but overall it was fun. Just waiting for things to get back to normal so that it can be a better casino.(no drinks centers,buffet due to pandemic)

Great place..but need to keep smoking in one location. The smokers have ashes everywhere... which leave the slots dirty. Otherwise love the slots there.

Hard to find but worth the trouble.

Cant get to Live Racing from the Casino, have to walk around building outside to get there. No drafts, no popcorn, no buffets, only cold pre packed sandwiches for 9.00. Bottle beer only 4-5.50/ bottle. Sad what this place has become due to COVID. It used to be a great get away, now Im sorry I made the trip. Lots of machines down. Its Sad, quiet, and very disappointing.

The comps for sure are extremely different. I love this place but since covid-19 it has definitely been a while since any of the comps I used to receive have been anything but scarce. You didnt keep your word as to freeplay and status.

This was my second time here. This place just has a chill but fun atmosphere. All of the staff is usually pleasant. When we walked in security stopped us to see ids and to check our Temps. They joked around with us to make it more fun,, because things are so serious these days due to covid. They definitely are abiding by the covid rules. They have sanitizer stations everywhere, and only have certain machines up. With their tables they have plexiglass between stools. Great job all around.

I had a great time the short time that I was there. I was working so I only got to be there for an hour, I was playing nickel Keno but ended up with $10 more than I walked in with so it was a good day!!!

No poker, no food, no fun. With this being said I did go while all the Covid issues were going on. If life goes back to normal Ill go back and give an update.

Love this casino! The hotel is attached to the building which is amazing! Machines dont seem as tight as other casinos.

Loved it. My first time there i will definitely be going back real soon. In fact this is going to be my new chill spot. I love the 2 and half hour drive very refreshing.

Ive never been to the Wheeling Island Casino before so this was kind of a spur of the moment stop, but we were in the area for a drive-thru Christmas light display and figured why not check it out.. First of all this casino is not affiliated with any of the Jack Casinos in Ohio so none of the member benefits carried over. However signing up to be members was quick and easy at the guest service desk even at the late hour we showed up. The current promotion for new sign ups granted us each $30 in freeplay to be used at the slots and a host of other perks typical of casinos weve visited before. One major difference was that they ALLOW smoking inside the casino! For any non-smokers there were smoke free areas, but the rest of the floor was equipped with ashtrays at almost every cluster of machines. The building was laid out nicely and felt modern, not run down or old in anyway and all the facilities were clean and working. Parking was free with a spacious open lot, valet was available and there was also a private parking deck for hotel guests. We did not get to experience any races, but there is dog racing that is done here at an adjoining track. There were complimentary drink stations throughout the casino where you could get a fountain drink or coffee on the house. Altogether we had a good time at Wheeling Island and will likely be back when in the area again.

This is a nice and clean casino. The only thing I dont like is at the dog track you cant go outside and watch the races.

The casino an race track is a very nice establishment, clean friendly employees an a fun exciting experience great place to go for fun.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights as we rode the local roads on a yearly bike trip. Our toilet didnt work in the hotel the first night as well our TV had some odd spots on the screen, but they fixed it right away the following day. The rooms were clean. The casino itself was a nice spot to hit up after 7 hours on a bike. The people working the tables were friendly and open to conversation. We would hang out in the bar area watching the games displayed on the massive screens. Nice spot to stay and gamble if you are in the Wheeling, WV area.

My husband and I visited for the first time to celebrate a Valentines Day weekend. We had a GREAT time. The dog races were a lot of fun, followed by a really nice time at the Dueling Pianos/buffet. We enjoyed the casino and our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The service couldnt have been better. I actually left my phone sitting at one of the machines, and the guard had it returned to me immediately. We plan on returning often!

Clean. Friday night need more people working. Long line also at sports bar. Plus hard to get anything to eat. Thank you

Called ahead and asked if poker was happening. I was transferred to card games, the lady said yes they had poker. I arrive 1hr30mins later and its closed down. They said they were aware of my call but decided to close it. Thanks for ruining my trip down there.

I loved it. It was my birthday and this was my first time at casino. The hotel was really clean, the bartender maked delicious drinks and the security was real cool and professional. Thank you for everything..

Buffet was excellent - extensive and well priced. Rooms were lovely with firm beds and bedding and super clean bathrooms. A very nice amenity was a free coffee/tea station outside the elevator on each floor. Parking lot was well lit. Staff was very nice and welcoming.

The overall experience was OK. The casino was clean but the smoking everywhere was nasty. I’m a spoiled Canadian, where smoking is prohibited in any public building for probably last 20 or more years. It made me feel nauseous. The rooms were sub-par as many items, such as outlets, tv, shower head, and toilets needed repair. That being said the management were helpful if asked to speak to upper management. Otherwise they didn’t care. The room cleaning was awful. They didn’t make all the beds on 3 of the 4 days we were there and did not clean the toilets on 2 of the days. The bar staff were nice and at the restaurant “The Point”, the food was amazing. That being said I wouldn’t go back to this casino and hotel or recommend it to anyone.

We Had a great time at the casino... food was good rooms were clean and smoke free. We had a blast at the dog races....only fault was smoke smell/deodorize smell in main lobby/casino after a weekend there couldnt handle it any more. Over all great time but place has got to go smoke free enough is enough

Im an avid slot player and the machines here are really, really tight. Youd do better driving to Rocky Gap or Columbus.

We stayed at the casino hotel for the weekend and had a good time. The room was clean and looked like it was well kept. The casino buffet on Friday night was really good, there was a large selection to choose from. The food court was decent but was a bit pricey in my opinion. The casino floor and dog racing areas were surprisingly clean for the amount of people there. Bar staff was very friendly and quick. My only complaint would be the constant cigarette smoke smell just about everywhere in the building. If you can get past that, youll have a good time.

Never win much here but its gambling and you never win much. Good entertainment though

Im from Pittsburgh and Im use To bigger and busier casinos however this was really cool to come to and just have a more relaxed playing experience. Makes it a more personalized feel with the casino personal. Id definitely reccomend stopping in!

This casino has one of the better buffets Ive had in a casino in a while. They have nice slot games. New and old. The dog races are different (in a good way) then the horses. I havent stayed at the hotel yet but it is on my to do list

They need to open up my favorite slots ruby rings and they need to bring back diamond rings even if they are older machines caues those ones are the best. Didnt get any perks for my birthday month I drop in my free play caues they were closed for coronavirus from having 55.00 in March to 10.00 in free play . they had a power outage while I was in a bonus on my machine and they didnt pay me for it didnt offer to compensate for it. But host is the very best without her there I would never come back.so I would say the visit was a two star out of 5.

I like going there, but right now the machines are tight. No table games, no food or water because of social gathering. Its clean and fresh inside.

Absolutely horrible! You have to walk through the smoking area to get to the non smoking area AND then there is not much of a variety in the non smoking game wise. Machines were disguisting to say the least. Cigarette ashes everywhere. Full ashtrays sitting around everywhere. No cleaning crews, no floor attendants. We spent $20.00 each and couldnt get to the exit quick enough. Dont even waste your time.

At the check in desk i was informed that i would owe an extra $35 per day because it was a Pure room. Over and above what i accepted to pay to Expedia. There was a plug in air filter inside the room, nothing more. It ran constantly and just added more noise. I can see this being in a smoking room but non smoking? Why? Extra cost

Love this place. We may not always win but we at least get play. Buffet is fabulous. All you can eat crab legs and lobster. Who does this. They do and oh so good. Visit as often as I can.

I was pleasantly surprised, they were quite nice. Clean and spacious. It took over a hour to get the fridge delivered to our room which was annoying. The staff at the front desk were ok not terrific. The entertainment was lacking, they need more bands where you can get up and dance too.

Very convenient for a week end at the casino/ dog track. The rooms are large and clean. No pool or hot tub. No in room coffee. Scheduled power outage for construction at 8:30was poorly scheduled.

Wonderful casino and hotel. WE had such a wonderful time. Friendly staff, clean rooms, fun casino. We had a fridge in the room.

Its a decent size casino. Clean on the inside. You get a $20 players card when your new...most only give $5. The waitresses were not that friendly. But it was a fun day. We would go back. If you are in an RV they have an enormous lot and were absolutely fine with us staying in the lot for the night!

The buffet on Friday Seafood is #1. The lobster can be a little tough but the crab legs are fabulous. The slot machines will let you win or break even, but the slots let you keep playing. It is a good place to have fun! Cheryl

I was unable to check my luggage which was an inconvenience. I am a 70 year old woman and handling luggage is difficult. Also the gentleman at the front desk was not very nice.

The crack houses and toothless people leading up to the casino had me worried what I was getting into. They have probably 2500 slot machines and about 20 card tables. Nothing about this place is unique I wont be going back. No I didnt gamble either.

Went to Wheeling Island and Casino for the day. We gambled for about 4 hours and swiped our players card and we earned a Free Night Stay. We stayed overnight and we had 2 Free Buffets Coupons that we used. They were also giving you a free Beer with your Buffet and we enjoyed that. The Slot Machines were OK they let you Gamble awhile without having to fed them Constantly

I absolutely love Wheeling Downs. It is one of my favorite childhood memories. My dad used to take me there with him all of the time. I love that I can share the same experience with my children.

The listing stated the rooms have coffee makers. They do not. Coffee is provided only from 6 am until 11 am out in the hallway by the elevators. For me that was a long walk as my room was at the fat end. Desk clerk seemed uninterested in helping however the food court workers were very nice There is only restaurant service in the casino on weekends, nothing mid-week.One might be better off staying off site and merely visiting the casino/racetrack as an additional destination.

Beautiful hotel and casino. We had a regular king size room. There was a refrigerator and safe. The room was large enough to accommodate two comfortable chairs an ottoman and desk. The bathroom was large and had beautiful tile accents with a warming light in the ceiling. I hate dark hotel rooms. There was plenty of lighting and each lamp had a 3-way bulb. The hotel, room and hallways were very clean. The pool and hot tub facility was beautiful. There was also a nice fire pit area outside. Although, I dont have small children anymore, I did notice that they had child care available and an arcade for kids. Would definitely stay here again.

The machines wouldnt work and the staff was rude,I lost 300 dollars on floor and no staff would even help me! They said my loss. Downs should compensate me my 300 dollars back. That was ridiculous

Not bad - nice atmosphere. Went to deli counter got loaded nachos- not really good the chili on them was like warm at best but they were closing up- the staff was friendly but food sub par. The pasta salad was great!

Went here for a short honeymoon getaway. Not a big fan of gambling but figured we would give it a try. The room was well styled and very large. We got the romance package so it came with champagne (which was good) and chocolate covered strawberries (not very good). We stuck to slots and had some drinks. Didnt realize it was mainly smoking which might bother some. We had the pointe for dinner, super tasty. Overall good experience! You have to drive through some sketchy shanty town when driving in though.
