I have now attended two sessions at The Sipping Muse. The first session was a winter Chicago skyline painting with my fiancee and kids and random others. We had a good time. Instructor Sarah was quite helpful and patient when one group of the others showed up quite late. She got them on track while keeping the rest of us moving. She engaged when asked to do so while letting us do our own thing (this is art after all).At the end of that sessions we dropped our names in a bucket for a drawing for their anniversary celebration. My name was drawn for a free private party of 8!For our second visit we gathered up 8 with our good friends. The other 6 had not ever done anything like this before and a few were a bit apprehensive and/or expecting their paintings to turn out terribly. Sarah was again our instructor and did a great job easing everybody into the work. Again the end results were not all similar (one monochrome, different colors, and one death metal themed) but everybody enjoyed the event and most, if not all, ended up being happy with their end result. In fact, one that was planning before the event to hang it in some private location ended up putting it on display where guests and everyone can see it. I would call that success!Love the free BYO policy. For us this is what made us decide to visit the first time and created repeat customers. We will be back and I am guessing at least a couple of the party attendees will become customers as well.Looking forward to the next time. Keep up the good work.
Great attitude in times of straits! We need businesses like this to stay positive!
I have been to two sipping and painting classes. This was by far the worst. They’re supposed to teach you. You can follow along with the teacher who is painting with you. Not just show you a picture and you have to copy it. I could have done that on my own. Absolutely so disappointed. Worst experience ever. AND I asked the person who was working there a question and she literally said “hold on I’m just texting my boss.” Like, that can wait?? This is suppose to be a fun experience. Would not EVER recommend.
Tons of fun, very nice, talented staff. Great for groups or a fun playful date night. BYOB so it works out great for everyone
Date Night, Paint Night! This little gem is in the heart of historic Wheaton, the staff were fantastic, the owner Kathleen was our artist and the whole experience was marvelous! I nor my wife one would consider artistic, but she provided thoughtful measures to help us craft our coffee cups and wine glasses which turned out fantastic. A must do for date night!
We had a great time and the people there were so helpful. Im not especially talented but I came away with a project I was proud of, and had a lot of fun.
Very friendly staff who gave great instructions and left us happy with our projects.
