Compo Beach Skate Park

Beautiful clean beach, lovely snack bar and clean, clean loos. We love it.

It is not a very good skate park. There is paint pealing the hours are weird and they only have like 4 ramps. I would recommend not going to the compo beach skate park and instead go to another skate park like Jennings beach.

The skate park is okay. Theres a good amount of ramps, half pipes and rails to try out. Its usually completely deserted during most parts of the day, so youll usually have it to yourself. However, you do need to pay to get in (usually around $8). Fairfield seems to have a better one that you dont have to pay for, but it usually has people on it. If you do go to Compo, watch out for when the skate park opens and closes. The schedule changes from year to year and is typically only open in the afternoon on certain dates.

For one thing, almost all the ratings on here that are high are for the beach itself because people can’t read, and for another, the park is pretty garbage. There are ramps and all that but the metal lips tend to be bent up and you can get some nasty wheel bite. Sand and pebbles everywhere. Really needs some rework at the very least

The beach is very clean and well maintained. The toilet is shiny clean. There are a lot of sea shells in the sand on the beach, so it would be a good idea to wear some protective foot gear. The water is clean and free of algae. Some walking from the parking lot to the beach is required if you are visiting as a guest without a seasonal pass and parking at the daily parking spots. The parking spaces located closer to the beach are reserved for the pass holders which must be obtained through the Westport parks authority. The parking order is strictly enforced and tickets are issued if a guest with a daily pass parks at the sports for the seasonal pass holders. The entrance fee is $65 per car as of July, 2019.
