Beautiful, wide open spaces. The dog off-leash area is huge. Its not enclosed like a dog park. Theres a fence along the road, but for the most part youre relying on voice control for your dog.The lake is pretty, but its off-limits to people and pets. We just enjoyed the view from the top of the hill. The nature center was closed when we went (on a Sunday), but the pollinator garden was still open and buzzing with activity.Pun fully intended.
The RV spots are first-come, first-serve. We paid $22 per night for 2 nights. No hookups although they have a water hose near the restrooms/shower with potable water. We stayed near the end of July and the weather was cooling off a bit so we didnt need to run the generators much. We used the outdoor shower behind the restrooms and it worked fine. At least you have a great view while youre showering off.Good access to Denver and Boulder from here.
Overall a nice lake area but unless you are coming for a day visit with some paddle boards or to camp there isnt too much to do.
Rangers Mike & Taylor went above and beyond to recover my Basenji, Malcolm I dont know where to start but to make a long story short the Park Rangers were more than willing to help find my find my dog. He was hiding out on the dam and they were able to get him chased into a neighborhood and, with the help of a homeowner, catch and hold him until I could get there. They were always responsive to my calls and good to communicate what was going on. I cant thank them enough for the help!
Its nice. Aggressive ducks tho.
Camped here for a night with some friends. I was pleasantly surprised that it doesn’t feel like you’re in the middle of Westminster in the camping area, it’s pretty quiet and there’s a great view of the foothills. The park staff were friendly and bathroom facilities are nice. looked like there were plenty of open sites on a Saturday. I live close and will probably be back. Great alternative to some of the busier mountain campgrounds that need to be reserved months in advance
Even better now that Westminister has banned the boats! Beautiful place
Beautiful and LOTS of space to walk
Love camping here. The rangers are awesome and the view was beautiful. Only drawback is the outdoor only shower.
Clean campsites and RV amenities.Pet friendly. Firewood on site.Summer water activities and fishing.Close to food and gas.
Awesome place for some family fishing and fun rented a canoe only $10/hr had a wonderful time. Park rangers are super friendly and awesome.
Just stayed here for 8 days while visiting Colorado! Great campground with very friendly staff. Campground was nice and quiet at night and monitored by a security guard. Hookups or at least a dump station would be nice but they do have a spot to fill your water tank. The views and the lake is very beautiful. This was a nice central location so we could drive to the mountain towns.
Camped here for two night was a great experience. The rangers were friendly and made their rounds to insure all was good. The have RV spaces available as well as ample tent camping. There is a bald eagle nesting ground to the north only viewable from the water. Would highly recommend this place for a quick getaway.
Safe. You can have your pet on a leash. No alcohol or drug use of any kind allowed, which is good for a family atmosphere. There are teepees you can rent, RV stations, showers, paddle boats. They used to allow swimming but a certain kind of mullosk invaded, so they dont let you swim anymore. Rangers come check to see if you need firewood or other. Good place for peace.
Lexie the Park Naturalist guided a fossil tour for a group of us. She did a wonderful job. Thank you Lexie!
No electric, water, or sewer at sites. No alcohol allowed on premises. The sites are close and they are not angled so your view walking out of your RV is of other RVs. No tree cover. Not flat. Great view of the reservoir is a plus.
Quiet at night. Staff is friendly. Rangers help you feel safe. Prices are affordable. No hookups for camping. Nice shopping centers near by.
Its real great without all the whiney boaters
Great place to boondock, as there are no hoockups at the park. Views are great and the sports are quite large so one is not on top of other campers. The facilities are sufficient, and there are several around the campsite. I would reccomend it but be prepared to run your generator for your RV when the temp are too hot.
Good campground close to Denver and Boulder. Camped right by the lake and they even have an outdoor shower you can use.
Tyler was a very informative Park Ranger. A super nice People Person . Park is Gorgeous - Thank you for a wonderful experience .
We have a great time Everytime we go! Fishing has been rough because of our intense moisture this year!
Fishing today ; fun to get out ! Didnt catch any ! Still fun ! With my daugjter
Great for hiking with lots of open space
Beautiful views. Theres a dog park, kayaking, and its an overall lovely place to spend time at.
Special place, unforgettable sunsets viewed from the East shore South of the dam.
Horrible Service, people drinking even though no drinking rule in effect RIGHT IN FRONT OF PARK OFFICIALS. Literally ran by a bunch of douche teenagers who probably just get high instead of work as the entry gate smelled like pot. nobody could answer a simple question for me and had to call the main office 3 different times. didnt even stay because not only is the service trash but the campsites also resembled the work ethic of this campground= Poor. wouldnt even give one star and if I could I would ask for this place to find new ownership/management.
We stayed here 1 night on our way to Wyoming--no hookups, but potable water on sight. Park rangers kept watch on the park. This park is by a reservoir & some geese flew in. Cost was $22.00 a nite
Nice place fishing in tuff
Its a beautiful spot to camp at least in an RV.
Little trash but mostly nice
Great spot for SUP! Will be back.
Good park. We come here regularly. Used to pick up sites before people arrived. Must have missed our site this time.
Friendly staff. Some camping spots great, others only passable. Too much generator noise. Very Little Shade. Not enough trees.
Good fishing. Neeps some facilities
It was horrible for fishing, water low, boats everywhere.. cant fish by dam...Homeless man living there but yet you cant park there by the rvs even though there are spots.. Sure at another time it would be great just not for us...
Beautiful views
Great freshwater lake with paddle boarding and kayaking rentals
Nice campground near town.very reasonably priced. Very quiet. Lots of walking trails nearby.
Beautiful park but hard to locate eagle tree
Very nice campsites. Nice views.
Great place for camping in town, its far enough away from stores/traffic/people, and the scenery is nice, you dont feel like your camping in the middle of the city
Went to the outdoor movie, fun granddaughter loved watching a movie outside . not too many people .everyone was well behaved
Beautiful land with a open space for dogs to run free close by. A great place for families or any one.
Good value. Stayed there 3 nights in a 36 ft. Motorhome with pull behind. Spaces were small, but overall good experience drydocking.
Do not go here if you plan on letting your dog even get close to the water. With no warning, I received a $120 fine after being here for 10 minutes because my dog was standing at the edge of the lake with her paws in the water.
They ruined our summer by closing it to boating
Beautiful lake, great for fishing and camping!
Great family memories made here
Just cycling thu with a short brake for a snack.
This place is awesome and chesp
What a beautiful view and quiet part of town too.
Great for paddle boarding or kayaking, i believe rentals are arpund 15$ an hour.
Great area! Friendly Westminster Park Rangers, easy access
Nice park with plenty of parking and has restrooms available
Spectacular views!Cool staff....shower situation could be better but would recommend!!!
No swimming allowed but you can rent a paddle boat
Great relaxing place
An excellent get away in the suburbs

Bad place dont waste your money
Fun lake thats close to home.
Its awesome..!!
Beautiful with fantastic rangers to help you out!
Amazing camping I cant wait to go again
Bad. Cant bring a boat for the lake.
Great place to take pets! Even kitties!
Its our neighborhood lake. Great place to walk, bike, and watch the sun set.
Beautiful regional park focused on watersports with Standley Lake
Why cant we swim in the lake?
Great space for dogs!
Beautiful place to stay
Pathetic dirty park run by kids. We were discriminated and disrespected by Isabel and Kristen our two year old has a disability and so does my husband and we wee subject to harassment for our service dogs. We will be contacting the ADA.Waste of $7 full of rocks liter and trash.Joke of a community
Always relaxing by the water
Ok camp. Fire ban stinks very dry this year
Our local recreation area!
Not a good place, should only be drinking water not recreation
Nice views and great people
Lots of mosquito
Love this place!
Not good for fishing, very few spots to fish. Fishing dock is small but if water craft and sports is your thing then this might be the place for you.
Amazing lake
No more motorboats
Clean sites and facility only down side no hookups
Basically....no
Okay campground in a pinch. Lots of bugs and loud drunk people even though the no alcohol rules.
