On a very beautiful day ( low humidity, mid 70 s), we visited the museum for the first time. My 3 year old daughter loved the playground and wooden play train. We both enjoyed the beautiful, relaxing grounds and had a short tour detailing the farms history. We spent 3 hours here and would have stayed longer if not for closing at 4 pm. Definitely recommend, especially with young children!
Best place in Carroll County for a visit. Peaceful outdoor museum space with multiple barn buildings housing exhibits. Real historic almshouse houses main museum attractions that change with the season. Strongly recommend visiting during the holidays to see the house decorated. Live animals, garden exhibit, childrens playground, and walking paths through the forest keep you occupied. Best event must be the annual steam engine show in the fall, but the blacksmith days is also not to be missed. More fun than the local fair nowadays.
Beautiful location for a wedding, with several picturesque areas for the ceremony, and several reception areas to accommodate both smaller and larger weddings. There a multiple buildings around the farm museum that offer fantastic photo opportunities, and there are barnyard animals and a small playground to keep the kids busy.
We’ve been there a few times for different activities they’ve had. They have different shows and activities all the time, like the wine festival, antique steam engines and farm equipment, re-enactments for the civil war, etc. In July they have holiday festivities prior to the fireworks, and they have camps for the kids during the summer months too. It’s a good place for families to enjoy a bit of history in the area. For several of the major activities they have shuttle service too.
I visited the Farm Museum as a wedding venue for my friend. It is a small venue. It was very sticky as it was humid out and there is no real enclosed area with hvac. It was a great time, but for a venue I would recommend using it for small parties during cooler months... unless you are into sweltering that is...
I was impressed with this museum! They have lots of interesting artifacts and a furnished 18th century farm house. Recorded narrations helps provide context for what you are looking at. We look forward to visiting in the summer when it is not cold and they have volunteers showing weaving, blacksmithing, etc.
Interesting place to visit. I walked around with my son but not too many things to do with a toddler. There werent many animals and the main buildings were hard to enter and maneuver with a stroller. I would be willing to come back once my son is older to see if it is more interesting then
Went fir the Wine Festival of 2019 and had an enjoyable time with my Abuela and my sister. The venue itself was organized well and the music was enjoyable. Will go again next year.
Love how much work has been done since last year at the fall harvest day. The upgrades are nice and love the new playground
Went to The Secret Garden Wine & Music Festival here. Was nice venue and orderly. Great atmosphere and surroundings.
Was there for a festival (MD Summerfest 2019). Really enjoyed the ease of parking, the layout for the event and all staff members were courteous and helpful. Would definitely return!
Nice place to learn something about agriculture but some area were not well maintained.
Actually my visit here was work connected as a field trip. I work at a great little farm museum but this place is fantastic, plan on long visit with lots of walking. The entire thing has so much to see you could make it a all day affair. I found this a great day full of information, great recreational activities and the historic exhibition of the History is the best. It has a lot to offer every age
Variety of Functions at a restored farmhouse ...the Steam Show suffers since the powers to be wont allow a Steam Engine or Engines to travel around the Grounds! RIDICULOUS !!The Steam Show now has NO Steam Engines operating. Hit & Miss Engine are set up but no real large engines - as in the past ..... Whoevers behind this decision has No Sense of History. Carroll County is rich in Agriculture History .... Attendance is down and the Grounds are filled with enthusiastic types that are struggling with poor management decisions.Rather have a wine festival and promote their version of farming .... Laughable if not so Sad ....Steam Engine Show without even 1 Steam Engine.Business now goes to Baltimore County the following week!!Why not have a wine festival without tastings ??! Same mindset.A once great show has been reduced down to a shadow of the past !!
Simply a great place to be, educational entertaining, and amusing. I would recommend for families, couples, and inquisitive individuals with a desire to learn more about the farming community of Westminster
The grounds great, the event (wine festival needs more vendors) needs work. I.E., enhance age verification of patrons. Tickets can be lost and used be anybody under age.
This place is Damn huge. Its a lot of things to look at and read as you move throughout the park. Park has beautiful scenery and is well kept.
Lively place for all the family. They have farm animals, you can tour all the place for free.
We go every year and the kids are never disappointed. They love asking questions and seeing how things were made. Their favorite part of course is the blacksmith! They want to work with the blacksmith some day.
Best christmas set up we have been to yet
I go every year. I have so many memories at this place. I love it :)
Old stomping grounds. Loved this place as s kid. Perfect place for my wedding! Thank you to Sharon Martin and the entire CCFM staff for making my wedding day unforgettable.

My wife and I got married here, so itll always have a special place in our hearts. Its very picturesque and there are some cool demonstrations of life in the olden times. They have a little play area and animal viewing section for the kids. They also hold some fun events here, since its so spread out and charming, such as the Maryland Wine Festival. The staff is very friendly and you can feel the history of this place as you stroll its winding paths while taking in the sights.
Always have good things going on here.
It was a good time! Good eating also!
Great fun for the whole family, went during normal business hours with no special events. Theres a childrens touch room, many exhibits, picnic spots, and space to run and play.
Love seeing the life of a self sufficient farm from the 19th century and earlier.
Great place for the family to experience all things agriculture!
Nice area for a picnic, fishing, playground for the kids and a little history, Just stocked the small lake with rainbow n golden trout but didnt catch anything. Still a nice day.

Beautiful and scenic
Amazing 4th of July fireworks
Neat place to visit. Everything is dated to the 1800s including the big house.
April Watts talk too much. Usually a great venue with DJ Tanz
I’ve gone here many times during wine festivals and other events . The lot is so huge you’ll never run out of parking . Very clean and well trimmed grass. Always a good and fun time to be around . Also it has a small river not sure if you can fish in it but amazing to look at .
Nice open place with cool events. Art show is coming up!
Had a great time clean Park atmosphere was nice
Was next door setting up for the Wine Fest tomorrow and Sunday.
Fun family outing, lots of historic farm displays and critters to see, picnic tables, and clean facilities. Not overwhelming, its small enough to take everything in, and accessible for strollers.
Always a good wine festival here.
One of the best attractions in Carroll County, a must see for farming enthusiasts, history class field trips, and families looking for a unique afternoon trip. The property is full of interesting pieces of farming history, and as it is staffed by experts in their crafts, it is a great place to learn how your ancestors worked and lived in rural maryland.
Very nice and relaxing night for the fireworks show.
This was just awesome
