It’s ok. The people are nice and the theater is clean. But the interior and sound system could really use updating. Also some sound insulation would be nice since we could hear the booms from a neighboring movie. If you buy electronic tickets, bring your confirmation number. They don’t have, or weren’t able to, scan the ticket on my phone or through the cc - they couldn’t find my ticket without the confirmation number.

Pretty old and run down theater. There was a large hole in the ceiling that had insulation hanging down from it. Not only was it an eyesore but it cast a shadow onto the top of the movie screen partially blocking the top portion of the viewing area.

If you are tired of the crowds, this is the place to go. Its a no frills theater but was able to watch Captain Marvel on opening weekend and it felt like a private screening. We went on a Sunday and we were able to park free in the municipal parking lot in the back. Bonus is that there are lots of little places to eat walking distance from the theater. By the way, the theater does not have assigned reserved seating but you can still buy tickets ahead of time online.

Nice theatre. First time there since New Vision took ownership. Theaters are clean, seats could use some plumping, but are newer. Popcorn was tasty. Screen/viewing was great. We purchased our tickets in advance and had no issues checking in to obtain our tickets. Will definitely go back.

Historic theater. Its even featured in a cartoon by Westfield native Charles Addams (Addams Family). The last time I went popcorn was a little stale, but it could have been a fluke. They always do special events like classic movie screenings. My students interviewed them once several years ago for a school paper story and the managers were very accommodating and lovely people.

Posts movie times online and on phone line but cancels movies or changes show times randomly. Some employees dont want to be there and it shows. With the other available theater options, theres no reason to go to the Rialto. Lowes or Cinemark are better options.

Theyre now offering pretty good deals, on Tuesday movie tickets are only $5, the seats are very comfortable and it pretty temperate inside so you dont need a sweatshirt. As with movie theaters snacks are pretty expensive. Inside does need some maintenance but it doesnt really affect the movie quality at all, and if anything goes wrong theyre pretty accommodating.

I havent been to this theater since the 80s ....HA! I went there to see Little Shop of Horrors! Yesterday I returned to the Rialto to see Girls Trip....my experience was over the top NICE! The STAFF is amazing! So incredibly friendly....the theater was small but so comfortable. I will return again and again! Super clean! Freshly popped popcorn! I had a really good time! Thanks everyone!!!!

Horrible experience seeing fantastic beasts 2. The entire time during quiet moments, we could hear the movie playing next door. So bohemian rhapsody mixed into our film. The seats were cramped and there was absolutely no light to see where you were going once the movie started. There was no surround sound and theater management kept turning on the lights in the projection room which kept shining down and disturbing everyone. Awful experience. Never coming back.

Very nice local theater. Definitely a fun time when going with friends. Popcorn and other foods are great, albeit somewhat highly priced. Always a good selection of movies, seats are comfy, staff is friendly. I have only had two incidents here, and these were years ago. One is that movie times I had found online did not match with the theaters actual times, and the other was rowdy teens ruining the experience for everyone. Otherwise, it has always been a blast here.

Quaint, small town theatre that offers all the latest movies. Prices are slightly lower than a standard AMC or Loews. Sound quality is great, as is the seating. However with only room for a few screens, they can only show so many movies at once. Plan ahead.

Very friendly staff and comfortable seats, but teenagers talked, shouted, and took flash photos throughout the entire film. There were multiple groups of unsupervised children at a rated R movie, and their behavior was ATROCIOUS. The management did not attempt to deter this behavior at all.

Went to see Shaun the Sheep (which was great, but thats not the topic), and our ticket taker said, Upstairs on the left. As we walked by a theater downstairs, we saw a banner for Shaun at 2:45, when we expected it to start. So we walked back and mentioned that, and she said, Somebody with a handicap wanted to watch Minions, so we moved it from upstairs to downstairs. How great is that? Not a big theater, but the kind of place you want to support.

Maybe its 75% nostalgia, but I love this theater. I appreciate that its in town (instead of a mega mall) and that they are more than just another multiplex that plays only the blockbusters. In the nicer months, its pleasant to catch a movie and then get an ice cream or a coffee and walk over to Mindowaskin Park. Great smaller-town stuff.

Came to watch a 3d movie and it costed $16. As soon as the movie began the 3d did not work. I ended up watching the entirety of the movie without glasses because it looked better. There were curtains on both sides in total cover 1/8 of the screen. Went to complain afterward and the attendant said, yeah I saw that and tried to fix it, and that was it.

This place is convenient but really poorly managed. The lobby is filled with packing boxes on top of a filthy carpet. The staff is either slow or non-existent, though I don’t blame them—it just doesn’t seem like there’s enough of them to manage a Friday night. I think they went under new ownership recently and it’s been straight downhill, sadly.

This theatre looks like it not been renovated for a long time. Its a small Movie theatre, not so easy to notice from the traffic.Over and above, All my hopes were shattered when I checked the seats. This theater has a poor selection of available movies, very uncomfortable seats, and frequent maintenence issues (ex. the AC went out in one of the theaters for a week a little while ago). The only good thing about the theater is the location, because it’s right in downtown. The AMC in Mountainside is a far better theater, if your ok driving the extra distance.

I took my girlfriend here to see 50 Shades Darker, we were originally supposed to see it at another theater, but since Im very much familiar with Westfield Id figure we go somewhere more intimate and smaller. Ive never been in the theater but I go to Westfield all the time. While we were waiting in line my girlfriend and I were met with very uncomfortable stares and purse clenching women and that was only by the customers. We headed to pay for our tickets and the younger woman working that night was extremely kind and very sweet. However, the man who checked our tickets made it very, very clear that he wanted that process to rush, hen did not look us in our faces like he did the other families and did not speak to us. He literally pointed towards the direction our theater was in. I found that to be very rude considering that when I turned around to see how he acted towards another couple, he met them with communication and smiled a them. I felt a bit of gross negligence but my girlfriend really wanted to see the movie and I didnt want to ruin it for her. We came a bit early, our movie wasnt supposed to come on until 6:40 and we were in the theater by 6:25. So naturally, just like everyone else in the theater, my girlfriend and I spoke and was on our cellphones while we waited for the previews to come on. There was a couple, who was staring at us when we walked in, and the man who Im assuming was with his wife, watched us the entire time. Before the previews started, that same man stormed out of the movie theater and spoke to the same man who neglected us earlier that night. The guy who works there approached us very aggressively. He screamed at us, to the point where everyone in the movie theater turned around to watch what was happening. He told us were not allowed to record the movie on snap chat. Its 6:35 now and the previews still havent started yet. My girlfriend was very upset, and when she explained to the worker that we had no intentions on recording the movie the man who initially told on us stood us and screamed at us too, he said that he was watching our phones and saw that we was on snap chat and called us liars. We ignored his comment and ignored the guy that approached us, until he came into the isle behind us, hovered over my girlfriend and he was close enough to hit her if he wanted to, and yelled at us again. He said hes serious about us not recording the show and hes gonna ask us to leave the theater if we have a problem. I asked him and the man who initially told on us to join me as we discussed this with a manager. The man who told on us did not move. This review gets better. When I spoke to the manager who was on duty at the time, her name is Gabby, (and she was as helpful as she could have been, and very kind) alongside the guy who yelled at us, he never apologized instead he said very sarcastically sorry if Im doing my job and walked away in the middle of me speaking to him. Seems like this theater is only charming and family friendly if youre not someone whos black or resembles a person who could pass for being anything but black. I told my sister about the experience last night and she told me that both her and her best friend was treated the same way a few months ago and shes not going back either for the same reason. I expect something to be done about this. My girlfriend and I were grossly mistreated, and there were serious pieces of evidence of racial profiling during this experience being here. We wont be returning to this movie theater anymore.

3 out of the 5 times that Ive been to Rialto, teenagers were allowed to ruin the experience for other moviegoers with extremely obnoxious behavior.
