This is a great club with a lot of amenities that other clubs dont have. People here are awesome, friendly and open to all newbies.
I will never ever go back to this place or refer them to anyone I know. The guy lied to me about the membership. It is supposed to be like 80 $90 for the year he charge me that in August knowing that at the end of September the year was done so he basically just took my money and when I corrected him about it he would not refund me my money and said it was my mistake
Great price for year membership. I have had great experiences dealing with the staff / range officers. Multiple ranges and as long as you are being safe no one bothers you.
Very great instructors! Personally like each one of them. They were very kind and made sure to answer our questions so that we understand gun safety and how to handle a gun. Can’t wait to get my LTC! Definitely hope to become a member!
Rude staff and rules that do not make sense. Hard to enjoy the club when the people who run it act like they are better than everyone else. Can’t even bring guests at all, even to show them the club to see if they like the place or if you want to have them with you. How do you introduce new people to the club or the sport with these rules?
To answer some of these issues. WSC have new directors. If someone is rude to you, contact the President asap. We have a membership of over 1400 people. We want everyone to enjoy their time at WSC.If you wish to bring someone to the range for a tour, there is a range officer there and after signing a waiver, the range officer will gladly give you a tour. Guns are involved here, thus the liability is high. Insurance and city rules and state law require you to sign a waiver. There are state and federal laws, read them. No person under the age of 21 can handle a firearm in the state of Massachusetts. So no you cannot bring someone to shoot underage, Long guns such as rifles and shotguns may be shot by a person over age 12 under the direction of an instructor or the childs parents. They must have a waiver signed by the parent, and possess a state mandated FID card at the appropriate age. thats the law. if other ranges allow otherwise, I would report them immediately.there was an incident with a child several years ago due to a irresponsible parent and event sponsor. Sure we would love to introduce kids the world of firearms, but it has to be responsible and under the laws of the state. again if the child is under 12 and is shooting, it is illegal here.IF YOUR LTC is expired, and you do not have a current one in hand, you now illegally possess a firearm no matter if you own it or not, this is a state law, read it. It does not matter if you reapplied, until you have it in hand, you will go to jail if caught with a firearm, PERIOD. If you wish to join another range, with a expired permit, even if the other one is on the way, you open up the range to millions in liability, and you jail time where you will never see your permit again ever, then go ahead. WSC will not allow you to join with out producing a valid LTC or FID. you may get a membership to use the other facilities and when you get your permit you can get full use of the ranges.Hope this clears up the complaints, if you have a problem at WSC, please contact the President, instead of complaining here, we will address any issues you have. Research the laws before placing blame on WSC. Once a accident happens at another range, they will start following the laws. The three closest ranges in the area aside of WSC allow members to break state and federal laws all day long, I have seen it for myself. Our rules follow all laws, and protect you and everyone on WSC property.
Does Westfield Sportsmans Club still hand fully automatic Uzis to 8 year old children? Does Westfield Sportsmans Club still allow their members to fire off rounds into the air, causing ammunition to hit neighbors of the clubs houses and become lodged in their roofs? This place has a history of not acting like a safe and responsible member of the local community in my opinion.
The managers at Westfield Sportsman’s Club are rude and nasty to the members. I guess if you are one of the E Board you will have a good time. Everyone else is treated like they are less than the managers.
Westfield Sportsman’s Club used to be good. Now the club is terrible. They don’t treat their members well, the rules don’t make sense and the club overall is not what is used to be.
Westfield Sportsmans Club officers and members are rude inconsiderate. I used to live in Westfield in the 90s. Hiking in the woods there on a Sunday afternoon was a little scary. Family members and I met with club officers in 1991 because of stray bullets that whizzed through the woods outside club property but safety never improved. There was absolutely no supervision and those people were inconsiderate. I have since relocated to another part of the country and I feel sorry for those that live in the same community as these rude people that operate and use the Westfield Sportsmans Club.
Used to be a good club. Now the management has made up rules that ruin a good experience.
Won’t ever rejoin this club ever again. Club is run by arrogant people who make up rules as they go.
This club has rules that are made up as things go along. If you ask questions about the made up rules not being in the rule book from membership, you will be told to go home and also that “protracted arguing will get you kicked out of the club”.
Club management is very rude. When I signed up for the club at open house, a few of the club managers were arguing with each other in front of members. Went to a monthly meeting and the Club President Ray was talking about how police are troublemakers at the range and how most of the problem members here have a badge. Some of the safety supervisors are helpful, most are ego driven and rude. President Ray, next time you need help, who are you going to call? The same police that you badmouthed at the club meeting? The managers at this club remind me of catty women in an office setting.
Westfield Sportsmans Club is not a fun club in my view. Too many rules and the staff is not courteous.
Good location, adequate ranges, well kept. Range Officers are watchful but not overbearing. Not terribly expensive and they host some interesting events.
Ray Frappier, President of the Westfield Sportsmans club is rude and condescending to members of the club. Ray convinced the Board and officers of the club to approve spending $14,000 dollars on a Kubota tractor for driving around the grounds with. This is a waste of members yearly dues. Members should ask Ray and the officers of the club why this waste of money was allowed.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Facilities for various types of firearms. Additionally there is separate archery facilities. Add in a stocked fishing pond. Great club.
Great people . Nice shooting ranges. Love it.
