During covid all we have is trails for exercise. This trail is very peaceful and quiet, i love it amd my wife loves it as well. Walking is great exercise for the heart as we tend to get older, stay safe and healthy friends.

Awesome walk! Enough people to not feel alone but not so many as to feel uncomfortable. People wearing masks and respecting each others space. The temperature was mild. Oh, but wear your OFF! Spray or non chemical bug repellent. Lol. I love walking The River there.

Good for walk and seeing the river. But it is not clean, probably because of leaves all over the place. A lot of homeless people around.

Great place to come for a nice walk, place to relax, sit at the water, even have a small picnic with someone you care about or just want to spend some quality time with. Have great conversation even a family outing. It has great views in the day, and even better at night! The only downside, their are a lot of homeless people. Most of them stay to themselves, but you always want to be cautious and aware of your surroundings. Especially at night. Also there are a lot of geese and sucks, so be aware and look down. They poop a lot!

The River Walk was the host spot for the Northern California Crossfit Classic 2019. This was a 3 day event that offered athletes of all ages to compete for their share of $50k in prize money. These competitions were as intense as the heat, so congratulations to the athletes and teams for giving their all. See you next year!

Nice little picnic place. Very little free parking so will most likely have to park in garage. Great little walk to the Tower Bridge and into Old Sac. My small kiddos always enjoy it. Only downside is the trash cans are always overflowing.

Nice place to run, ride bikes just maintain awareness because there are homeless people all around river areas. Not just here . Could be nice place for events.

It was not as safe in terms of no railings around riverwalks and all, but I like it even with my 1 year old. It was great, not cleaned but it was just Bird poop.

Looks like a nice place during the day. However, being downtown, in the evening and weekends when the business are closed homeless people move in around the benches and under the bridge. The grassy park area and walking path are still nice and the area was clean.

Light a blunt and enjoy the walk/jog. This place is awesome. Alot of things to encounter along the way. Enjoy the journey.

Very beautiful vantage to view downtown Sacramento. Its funny though. Everyone is busy staring at their phones. Beauty all around and they cant stay off Facebook.

This is where i go to gather my thoughts, its where some of my best memories took place and its where i met some of my best friends. Its changed a lot since then but its still a good place if you end up there.

Great place for a CrossFit/fitness comp! Lovely view of the river, trees, and nice clean sidewalks. Be wary of your surroundings and stay with a buddy after dark.

So beautiful. Biking and walking trails. You can find free 3 hour parking on the weekend.

It’s beautiful out here! Some police presence would be greatly appreciated though. As far as tips, take it from someone who lives a stone’s throw away and walks here everyday on my way to work:1) Wind! It’s breezy by the river!2) Safety! There are transients (homeless humans) who physically live here and are permanently camped under the bridge and on the banks of the river. They generally do not bother anyone (I’ve never been stopped or solicited here) but I’m also a 6”2” male and I always stay in the light. At night, use the buddy system just to be safe because the lighting is not very good.

Went midnight fishing w/the old man...not much magic in the River tonight... Tim caught a couple- no keepers. Rained a little and got soaked by the sprinklers. No biggie, we were warm. Beautiful night.

Beautiful place for a nice walk

Love walking across this bridge I live close so every day my wife and I always enjoy this area.

Walked both levee top & below levee along the Sacramento River, from Broderick Boat Ramp to the I-80 Pioneer Bridge. Note pictures showing levee trail at grade with railroad, so go down off the levee and then continue underneath the I-Street Bridge. Very nice!And ate at the Waterfront Cafe inside the CalSTRS headquarters building! The food was well prepared and tasty!

Nice park along the Sacramento River, but more for leisurely walking and bike riding. Beautiful views of Old Sacramento and downtown Sacramento. The bathrooms loom scary since a lot of homesless people use them, and a lot of transients tend to hang out along this park. Definitely worth checking oir the annual West Sacramento Cyclocross Grand Prix in Oct. Every year. Fun event at this park.

Its free! Take a walk, ride a bike, skate... its a nice walk. And close to Old Sacramento and Raley Field.

Old Sacramento & city views are fabulous. A stroll on West Sac river walk is a treat after a long day. Nice clean sidewalks lined with roses can make a romantic date complete. Canadian geese are a bit grouchy but they are all hiss and no bite. For sure a favorite place to stroll in the lovely city in which we live.

Great bike ride and view of Downtown. However, they are doing allot of construction at the moment.

If your looking for a cool spot to just chill Maybe have a picnic and feed geese this is the spot. You can see both bridges and old Sacramento from across the water.

This is a paved trail. From here you get amazing views of the Tower Bridge as well restaurants on the other side of the river. There is also a public restroom. The place gets a little eerie after dark with homeless people on bikes. The place had like 10 other people once it got dark. Along the walk, there are several information boards that give a lot of interesting information.

Its a great place to go on a peaceful walk.

Fun for photo shoots

The quiet July walk along the river, very pleasant. There were a few homeless camps but they were mostly out of sight and didnt interact with us at all.

The park is a thin strip of green along the waterfront in West Sacramento. There are trees to sit under and grass to relax on while reading a book. I was there for a cyclocross race, so there were food trucks and vendors, which made it more fun. It was very windy on one of the days and the wind kicked up a lot of dust.
