I would love to give it higher rating but as I visited during construction, it was amazing. I can definitely tell in time itll be amazing and I will return. The guy who gave the tour was knowledgeable and friendly. I suggest you go, just wait until construction is finished.
The Place is Beautiful but the History of the Mansion is what make a lot more interesting they have stories since 1800 until today 2019 everything have a different story that the guide explained in so much details that you for sure will learns many new stuff that you dont know. Are 3 floor with many rooms and a different story for each room if are around recommend to give a visit and see in person the History of the Waverley Mansion.
Did not rate any higher as we did not go inside. They are open sum to the public, but were not when we were there. They are also in progress of renavating, we could see scaffolding and such round the house.
Beautiful amazing cant wait to go back. Tour guide was awesome
A lot of history here. Under construction but still interesting and good access to the rooms.
Such a cool step back in time in ms.
Beautiful Civil War era mansion. New owners plan to restore it as close to original as possible. Tour guide has been there 13 years and does an excellent informative job. There is lots to see and hear about
Very interesting part of history.
Awesome historical site hopefully when it is sold someone keeps the place in tip top shape and as a museum!
This 1800s mansion is currently being restored. The $10 admission seems a little steep for the tour received. Nice place to visit though. I think the gardens might have been better earlier in the season.
What a pleasant treat... Not in tiptop shape yet, but they are doing a great job. Wonderful history and a beautiful old mansion. My husbands family had a neighboring plantation that is gone now, but James, the tour guide, helped us with research that allowed us to find our great great grandmothers grave stone in their family cemetery! Our grandmother used to play there in the early 1900s, it was very special to see. Im sure the new owners will continue the renovation, and it will even be better. James was very knowledgeable, interesting and truly cares for the mansion. What a nice guy, who made our trip so special. Great antiques, stories, and it was nice to see he cares so much. An architectural gem!
Very interesting home to see because it looks like it was abandoned by a family and preserved just like they left it over 100 years ago. Because it seemed so authentic and mysterious, it was one of my favorite homes on the tour. The staircases and foyer are stunning. We went during the Pilgrimage and they had guides in full costume to tell us about the mansion. It is pretty far out but worth the drive.
Very beautiful house to visit its like walking back in time if u havent been there please go visit
Beautiful...will be even better once renovations are complete!
Incredible experience. The guide is super informative and very nice. This place really is a must see. Im so glad we discovered it! Incredible piece of preserved history.
We visited this house this morning and were very glad of it. It is really beautiful, as are the many valuable antiques inside. I would love to see the garden in spring, the 250 year old magnolia is magnificent.
Very nice. Young man was very informative
Still needs restoration work but is still a beautiful home. Excellent guide!
It has been a few years since I had the chance to visit this delightful treasure that is a part of Mississippi history and lore. My first visit was of the professional sort in 1992, as I was writing about the Columbus Pilgrimage for a newspaper I wrote for at the time.I had the honor and privilege of meeting Melanie Snow, and her father Robert---who passed away recently. I have many other visits over time, and each time, I came away being impressed beyond description at how well the Snow family has maintained the house. Having seen photos of what it looked like when the family bought it, they did a superb job in restoring it back to the luster and heritage that it once enjoyed.I hope to go back there again soon for a visit and a cordial chat with Ms. Snow. She is a graceful, hospitable, charming and lovely Southern lady.
A great day trip for the family. The house is stunning. The tour guide, Jimmy, was extremely knowledgable about the original owner as well as Mr. Snow, who later purchased the house. Any question asked, he had the answer. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in history.
A true gem of MS history with its storied mansion quietly set along the bank of the Tombigbee River (Columbus Lake). See it while its still open to the public. Youll be glad you did.
Beautiful Grand mansion but needs some tender loving care

What a beautiful old mansion. The guide was very knowledgeable in the history of Waverley. The mansion was full of great furniture authentic to the time.
This 1852 mansion is a rare gem. I hope it sells to a historic minded buyer. They broke the mold designing this one!
Guide was very knowledgeable.
Beatifully restored antebellum home. I felt like I went back in time. The tour guide was charming and knowledgeable.
They had no heat and it was extremely cold (34°) other than that it was a really nice tour.
My BFF and I were day tripping and stopped here. The home wouldnt be the same without Jimmy s passion and extensive knowledge. What an amazing experience!
Great place and educational
Wonderful historic location to visit. Melanie Snow is the perfect southern hostess.
Fer the story of the little ghostly girl... leaving a small indentation in the childs bed sheets, & appearing on the stairwell, asking fer Mama!
Enjoyed tremendously. Was so impressed with the family and the work they have produced to accomplish the beautiful home they have.
A great house to see. It is very unique! !
I was just watching an episode of Finding Your Roots on PBS featuring Senator John McCain and noticed that his Great Great Grandfather was born here at Waverley Plantation
We came upon this place by accident and Im so glad we did. What a great piece of history and so beautiful

Terrific old mansion and very informative tour.
I was there for a wedding last fall and the highlight of our trip was visiting with Mr. Snow and his daughter. Hoping to visit again when we are in town visiting next week.
