Great for a date night with your significant other or an outing with friends. Service was great so you can worry about the important things like having a good time and enjoying the food and drinks. Good looking Palm Beach crowd with second story club (closed for covid) and rooftop bar. Try one of their pitchers if you like sweet drinks.
This place is held to a high standard for nightlife events, and I highly recommend. Three floors of weekend nightlife vibes to choose from. I love a place that has multiple areas for you to enjoy and hop between. Their December holiday events are well worth the visit.
Went there for brunch with my wife our 1st time being there. They had A DJ playing which was cool in itself but the music was playing so loud we had to scream at each other to communicate. We both ordered bottomless mimosas I got the breakfast burrito add Carne asada My wife got the taco platter. All the food and sides came out Luke warm to cold I talked to the server and she talked to the expo of whom came and grabbed my entree and sides and my wifes entree but left the sides and then sent the food back out both of our food came back out Luke warm again ( but slightly warmer than before) and my sides came out cold and my wife didnt even get her new sides. This all compounded by the fact that maybe 10% of all the staff was wearing a mask correctly if at all
I will only speak of my experience because everyone has different experiences. I wait in line to get into this club but when I got to the door I was asked for ID By security then the door manager rudely steps in and asks if I have a reservation? A RESERVATION for a club??? I say cool how do I make one and he says I can’t it has to be a day prior. After seeing the people Behind me just walk in with an ID I realize I was being singled out for some reason. I called my friend and ask him to go in while I watched. He got in fine. So I walk up again and I’m like what’s the deal. He said it was my dress code and I responded why didn’t you say that before, tell me the dress code and I’ll go change, and the door manger turns around and ignores me. I left shortly to another place and someone else had the same issue. If you’re reading this don’t go here. If you’re reading this fix your establishment before I shut it down. - King of the city
Hello,I run my own personal business throughout this side of town and I always love to come around the different establishments in CityPlace. Usually, it’s a great experience every single time, however, this time while in attempt to visit you Banko Cantina spot on Sunday at exactly 5:00pm the guy at the door said that he can’t let me and my little brother in. After standing at one door for a few minutes of him telling us it is at capacity, he told us “that’s not the entry door, the line’s over here” and pointed to the end of a long line that accumulated. We proceed to wait in the line however, then once we approach the front he says “no I can’t let you in, I just told you.” When we had no idea. When asking him the reason why and following up with could you cal the people above you, he stated “the guys upstairs are the ones not letting you in.”I’m really confused as to why this is going on, and would like to discuss this matter before I take it a step further. I would appreciate a response.Thank you in advance.
I went to Banko Cantina this past Sunday and I can honestly say, WOW. I enjoyed my experience. It was very packed! All 3 floors so my partner and I decided to stay on the first/bottom floor. Great atmosphere, great place to go on a fun date full of dancing or a brunch with the boys/girls. I enjoyed my steak quesadilla and the birria tacos ️ They’re pitcher drinks are nothing to okay with as well!
Great place that can meet all your needs. Dining, dancing, clubbing all in one. The Al Pastor taco is my favorite here
Great place to go out and dance! Music was great. Drink were typical downtown/miami price. The vibe was great
This is great restaurant and night club all in one place me and my party have such amazing time in there the staff is great friendly, kind, attentive and professional just amazing.can forget about the manager Luis Rodriguez just five stars professionalism
Besides the fact that they turned my wife around for the simple fact that she was wearing shorts was ridiculous. Besides that the music was amazing.
Tried tacos and flautas. Both were very good. Drinks can get pricey, but are also very good. Not great for social distancing, though. Servers had masks below their noses and the 3rd floor was packed with customers, none wearing masks.
Mexican food and the scene here is super good. Super tasty. I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here.
The place was deserted at 6PM on a Friday and I have no idea why....good food and service. The happy hour drinks should have been stronger, but I ordered a double on the second and that was good. Good location in West Palm. Easy to park etc. Better Mexican food than I have had in West Palm in a long time. Flour tortillas were greatness!
For the food, I would give 5*++ stars. Out temperatures were checked and tableswell- spaced. were well-spaced.As for the cocktails, I would have given one or two stars. Blaa in appearances. Never been served a Bloody Mary before with no garnish. My friend’s Sangria was the same- blaa. The chef is amazing, I was in heaven with the meal itself!
If you come to West palm beach, nothing like to have a drink and listen to good music on a rooftop!
Ive been going there for Years, I feel like Im apart of their family, it couldnt be any better the amount of customer service and beyond customer service
This was one of the worst experiences ever I was trying to have a girls brunch but every time the waitress brought our wrong. Then when it was time to pay they added extra things that we never ordered. When we tried to talk to a someone about it Louis (he said he was the manager) did not help the situation but made it seem like we were in the wrong. I understand it’s busy but I’m also a paying customer and would have like to be treated as such. All 6 of us decided to never go back again
On the positive side... a beautifully appointed old bank building converted into a restaurant. The owners obviously invested heavily, creating eye candy in terms of fixtures & fittings. But, we go to restaurants for good food & service. The food was nicely presented, but bland & tasteless. Service was indifferent. Ordered two pints of draft beer - server brought bottles. When asked about beer on tap, he said I dont think its working. The restaurant should get 1-2 stars. They also have a rooftop bar & a nightclub - maybe those are great (5 stars)? Im not sure, but we wont be going back for lunch or supper. Nice place though.
The security guards think they’re detectives. Following me to the bar back to my table harassing me with questions such as “Why are you standing up?!” “Who are you with?!” “You need to sit down!” All because I went to the bar to get a drink? Is this a security checkpoint or a restaurant? Friends of mine have also shared similar stories about this same establishment. I’m very disappointed.
Loved this place, great food and Latin music on the first floor, club on second and amazing rooftop on third floor.. Ty..
This place has “covid hotspot” written all over it. If you have any concern about you, your family, or your friends you will not want to visit this establishment.
The food is not bad but the bartenders are “ghetto” sorry to say it. The service and even down to the security is very bad. Maybe it’s the area, I’m not sure. However, I can say that they do not know how to handle altercations that arise or anything else. Just very unprofessional.
This place has 3 floors, so we had dinner in the first floor. The food was delicious, it was full of flavor. We had the pasta with shrimp and lobster and also a caesar salad with shirt steak....After dinner, we head to the roof top and ordered some drinks, their drinks are a bit pricey. But, we had a good time up there; the DJ plays a little bit of everything. The view is not much to mention, but I enjoyed the vibe.
Taco Tuesday is a great evening of libations and entertaining karaoke mixed with modern beats. There is that 1 individual that will step up to the microphone and sing a Whitney Houston track that will make your jaw drop. The best servers are Justin and Amanda. Always great and they will look out for you. The manager Javier is excellent. Ask for him and he will help you instantly.Dont miss Taco Tuesday. I suggest reservations. It is the busiest place in WPB on a Tuesday night
Tacos were delicious but waitress was slow. Charged us $5.00 for FIGI water and got a $0.35 one. Website says Taco Tuesday $2.00 no such deal on Tuesday. Also once you give them your card to pay they charge you a surcharge.
Our waiter was Will and upon arrival he alerted us to the happy hour small plate specials 4-8 pm. We ordered guacamole & queso fondito. Next we ordered Pollo Bravo and Camarones Con Tocino. Everything was delicious, the service and ambiance was excellent! Kudos to chef Rosa Viatoro! She sent us out custom made churros with ice cream, drizzled with chocolate and fresh strawberries. Perfect end to our vacation dinners!! Highly recommend! Taco Tuesday advertised on the table for future travelers. Total bill, $34 without a well deserved tip!! Enjoy!
No masks on any employees, there was a girl laid out in the bathroom, the food may as well have been taco bell and the drinks were laughable. We will never go back.
Banko has the best after brunch experience . Its litty
Anthony, Terrence and Justin were amazing. Rarely do you see great customer service in a club. Ask there name and wonders happen. Great time!
Very nice place wouldve gave it 5 stars but the beef tacos are terrible the lobster tacos however are really good
So on a whim my friends and I decided to go there for Taco Tuesday. I reserved a table for 10 but for the 9pm slot because that is all that was available. Re really wanted the 8pm reservation. So I reached out to them on FB Messenger asking if they would be able to give us an 8pm reservation instead of the 9pm and the accommodated with no issue.I checked out the reviews before I went and was kinda skeptical. I read how they over charge.... They charge extra for using credit cards... ect.None of that happened. I brought cash to keep it simple and got charged for everything I ordered. The prices are fair. The food is good. The drinks are great. Kathy/Cathy our server was on point. She was very friendly and attentive.I look forward to eating there again. Maybe I will try brunch there.FYI.... Parties of 5 or more may not spit their checks and parties of 6 or more will have 18% gratuity included.
$220 bucks for two pitchers of margaritas with barley any liquor in them our group of four walked out sober. The second pitcher we all left our glasses full on table (All sour mix) Food was lousy as well. We all said either this place should have great margaritas or great food THIS PLACE HAS NEITHER. Was going to say something when we were there but just decided we will not be going back.
Great spot. Play different types of music on different levels so something for everyone. Drinks are expensive, but similar to everywhere else in West Palm. Overall a fun night out. Venue itself is pretty cool especially first floor and rooftop bars.
Pros: Great location. Nice decorations. Roof top environment available not the best of views. Friendly staff when they finally get time to get to you.Cons: Drinks were horrible. Bartender even admitted she knew that everyone complains about their margarita mix. (It’s a Mexican restaurant you would think that’s the one thing they have right. ) The place is huge and under staffed. The food was definitely not worth the prices. Simple guac and chips came with like 12 chips. (See picture for proof). The Fajita plate did not come out sizzling and actually placed on a Regular place. The food was actually warm. There was no real flavor. Almost tasted microwaved.Tips: Try the drinks before buying the pitcher. If they are still using the same margarita mix as I had then you are going to be disgusted by the taste. It tastes as if the margarita mix is spoiled old.
Good food, great place to be with friends and family, Music was great
Joe!!! On the third floor, Mezzanine. Is the best!!Hands down. This is our second time here and he is amazing! He’s great for bottle service and will only keep coming if him and his associate keeps the hospitality while here.Just moved here from VA and it took us a while to find a place called home when we want to party!! #Joe is the best!!
The club is fine. Rooftop is better. The food... is honestly terrible especially the brunch options. Eat at any of the surrounding restaurants and come to Banko to party!
Great spot for taco Tuesday, happy hour. Tacos were warm and freshy made. $2 chip and Salsa was added to our bill, they just brought it to our table so we taught it was free or included guess not. There was also an unexplained service charge (added to the cc total charge, not on the first bill brought over) which was odd and again not expected since we were a table of two. But since it is under $2 again I ignore it. But kinda odd and unexpected.
Banko Cantina has an okay atmosphere, it has fun and modern decor. Great for picture taking. I went there to enjoy the nightlife...the bartenders make great drinks but arent very friendly. The tacos are good. The roof bar is fun.
I should give ZERO stars to this place. I was there 2 weeks ago on a Friday night and the bartender on first floor (short guy, hispanic looking) charged me $158 for 5 shots of patron and 3 beers and he also charged me $54 for no reason. I was in a party of 5 people and HE did the SAME exact thing to other 2 of my friends charging for drinks we NEVER asked for (they should really take this in consideration, as they might get into big issues for letting this bartender do what he does). We tried to contact the manager SEVERAL times and we NEVER had a response and/or a courtesy call back to any of us. Very unprofessional from a manager, and the service was not good at all for them to charge 20% gratuity. I was also in the rooftop and was served by Sabrina, she was nice; but in general this place should under investigation for what they do. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one complaining about this bartender charging extra drinks.
Great Restaurant and club! Great atmosphere and friendly staff! You can enjoy your dinner/ happy hour and then go dance. They have a dj in each floor ( 3 floor). The last floor is a terrace with a bar! Fantastic place to enjoy west palm beach by night!
Great food and got to love their holiday spirit. Their decorations are beyond amazing and heart warming. The skewers we ordered made a simple food feel more fancy and elegant.
The new chef was amazing... food was great...I love the lobster bisque, best steak ever....and dessert is heavenly.... loved it
Great appetizers during happy hour. Tacos and cheese, ceviche and quesadillas were delicious.
The atmosphere was perfect, service was fantastic and the food was really good. Homey, funky, warm, not modern looking but feel modern, if that makes sense. Id go back for sure
We like the atmosphere here We can get a little loud but the food and the drinks are pretty good The service is always prompt and makes for a nice pit stop while out and about in West Palm for a quick drink or a bite to eat. If you go late night its for sure a younger crowd and can get a little rowdy.
Love going to Banko! From the staff to the management to the owners, you can always count on exceptional service and of course amazing food! And their top shelf margarita is definitely my favorite! Great atmosphere for a fun evening!
Love this place. The tacos are amazing. I go every other week for taco tuesday and karaoke.
Ahhhhhh! Sundays are the day! Go to brunch at 1pm, lose track of time and end up leaving at 12am. Yea... awesome Sunday! DJs play the same music and both floors sometimes.
Went on a Sunday for brunch mind you the food isn’t that good. Sat down it took 45 minutes and me asking 3 of the wait staff to get some type of attention. One had an attitude with me and another claimed that I sat myself. Never got food. Went upstairs to the 3rd floor and I assume the bar staff just don’t like women with money because I gave her a 50 for my drank and when she gave me my change 3 of the bills luckily flew behind the bar. So if you are hungry, a woman who have expensive taste, and attract attention stay away. Also highly disappointed I’ve been to this bar plenty of times but ever since the hire of new employees it has caused them to lose not only me but some of my very influential friends.
Excellent roof top party on a sunny day. Worth visiting when you are in West Palm Beach.
Super nice spot... great music! Just too pricy
Best staff hands down on the entire Clematis downtown scene. Taco Tuesday here is a must! Sporting events are great to dine and watch my games. This is my favorite place to have a drink, dance, and as always a good time.
Its tex-mex all the way. I assume one has to adapt to the palate of the target clientele, so do not expect the real deal, although its closer than many other mexican places. Having said that, the place is magnificent, very well decorated, with impressive artwork in the walls. It has a full bar with whatever you would want to drink and theres even a dancefloor in the second floor. I was also told that theres one of the best brunch of West Palm Beach on Sundays, so you want to come to this spot.
So according to Security I have to make a reservation at Banko to grab a drink on a Tuesday night. Thus I took my money around the corner to Duffys.
Great music & great atmosphere
Didnt love it.House margarita 11 bucks that tasted like straight sour mix. Popular place, but didnt wow me.
Sunday brunch is a must. Ask for Luis the manager. Great staff.
Beautiful athmosphere, good food. Service a bit slow but friendly.
The setting is great. The best part is has 3 floors and great music. Food is good and drinks are amazing!
Came for Taco Tuesday for our first visit. It certainly will not be our last! Loved the tacos, especially the lobster. Mango salsa was also a big favorite at the table. Good service and healthy pours complimented the food as well. Definitely value for the money and worth your visit!
2 star is for the food taste being slightly better than taco bell. Nothing had any flavor aka didnt add any spices. Every employee including the person who was suppose to be in charge were too busy giggling as if they were all 6th graders at recess. The young lady to rang up our order was more interested in having a conversation than to show us any kindness, lacked in personality. I ask if the margarita had alcohol or was it a virgin, she again not listening properly, began to pour me a drink. I stopped her midway. There had to be 10 employees in the front counter playing around vs clean or interacting with customers. 1st & last time.
Food good. They make u feel rushed tho. Clearing plates while people are still eating. Adding charges to the bill just bc you are using a chip card. When I told the manager that it should be listed on the menu ahead of time he told me its posted in compliance by the front. I looked all around the entrance and it is not. If its posted by the bar thats unacceptable bc the hostess does not walk you past that way. Very shady and wont return bc of this. I like transparency when I go out to eat. Not surprise charges at the end.
Started the night off at this location, had a decent upstairs bar with a good view of the city. half the dance floor was roped off for private seating which was kind of a waste of space. they moved a group that wanted to hookah to the back and they werent too happy about it since they were no longer out in the open. The drinks were pretty high, werent great and the DJ wasnt taking requests. I mean it was a cool place, just not really our scene.
Friend of mine use to work there and he said they are racist. The cooks were dropping food and putting them back on plates to serve people ... this is definitely a place I would avoid eating at
HORRIBLE! Made a reservation a month in advance for a large holiday party. 5 minutes before the reservation they called and CANCELED because someone else needed the space. Just bad business. I would not reccomend. So disappointed.
Not bad, not a bad experience, I definitely will go back. Great hookah
Interesting place, service needs improvements but the food is good.
Sevice on first floor is horrible
Taco Tuesday. granted, we may have been oldest couple there. But sorta treated that way, too. After endulging and buying overpriced happy hour drinks, thinking prix fixe racos tacos in town much better get (racos may have better looking bar, too). wanted to love it and become a go to place. but nope.
Delicious food and a great atmosphere. Very compact and loud with the band but that just added to the great night. We will definitely be back!
Amazing decor on first floor where we ate. Christmas themed, but you know they do a great job for any holiday or off time as well.. Food was great and has reasonably priced options. Pitchers of Margarita is a reasonable $25 but you need half the pitcher to feel even the slightest effect from the alcohol.
When theyre on a Saturday this past week and a DJ kind of sucks on the second floor overcrowded I feel like and the people that work there just walk right through you like you dont exist I understand its crowded but we are humans have some sort of respect besides them two incidents it was a good place cool environment enjoyed it will recommend this place and well go back
Nice place Good food
Great place for food drinks and live music
I havent actually stepped in the door but was walking by and they had an incredible set up for Christmas which I appreciate. Video mapping with a fireplace inside and elves Looking Through the Windows ... this will be the tech Christmas decorations to beat in Downtown West Palm Beach.
Banko is cool for a party. Great music. I usually go after brunch and have a great time
The new owner has really done a fantastic job with the new menu and more! Skirt steak I had was perfectly cooked. Everyone at our table said their meals were delish and they would come back. Place is very clean. Friday night the Prime Rib special was absolutely delicious and the show was a lot of fun to dance to while they played songs from Motown days. We will be going back.
Very nice place
Fantastic vibe. A little something for everyone. With 3 floors of different entertainment. Great staff. Great music and even better drinks. Always a good party.
Ive been at banko a few times for brunch and always enjoy it, today I have to say I probably never go back. Its a shame because its a great place to have brunch. We went for my brothers birthday, and of course we had unlimited mimosas, about an hour and a half in, I started to feel a little sick, I decided to step outside and regroup. When I felt better, I tried to enter again, but I was told I was not allowed back in. Security had flagged me to not reenter. Now, I didnt cause any fights, didnt drop a drink, didnt bump into anyone, nothing. I was with a party of 12, if there was a concern why didnt ANYONE say anything a bouncer, the waiter, a manager? They waited until I stepped outside on my own accord and then didnt let me back in? Ive NEVER had experienced anything like this. I understand that people can get out of hand, but here it is three hours later and am writing this review, so was I a candidate to not be let back into venue? When we asked security and the manager there was no answer other than thats what they were told. By who? Its crazy how they just decided to keep me out without a reasonable reason. Never again.
Nice spot for Sunday brunch in my area, but $22 for a cup of Hennessy with redbull is a little ridiculous
Im forever in search of the best Tacos. This place serves some pretty good ones. From their selection of tacos I think the steak, and the shrimp tacos are the best they have. The music is a little loud, but the service is good. Our waiter Joe was a good, friendly, attentive waiter. Thank you, well be back.
This review is more for the club than the restaurant. I witnessed a brutal beating from the bouncers on two very thin young man this past Saturday. The young man were covering their heads the whole time. This was very disturbing and I will definitely not return to this place. I think management needs to be very careful who they hire for this type of job. Its not cut out for everyone.
Food was good but service was invisible and it wasnt busy.
The food and service here is wonderful we love this place
Staff was efficient, but zero personality. Food was subpar. They claim to have great tacos, but there is no flavor. Everything is ala carte, so a simple taco dinner ends up being expensive. Plus, for some reason my husband received 5 tacos on his plate and I only got 4?! We ordered margaritas - couldnt taste any tequila and they were not rimmed as the menu described - had to point it out to the waiter and have them remade. This was our first time here and their website really pushed making a reservation, so I did via OpenTable. Even though we arrived on time and I said we had a reservation (which was not needed as the place was empty except for a couple patrons at the bar), they canceled my OpenTable reservation without reason so I wont be getting my reward points via the app. And to top it all off, they charged us an additional $2.48 service fee on our bill for paying by credit card!! It didnt state what it was, just a fee so I asked our waiter and he said it has to do with their new system. You can tell me what you want, but I know that means the owner is having patrons pay their service fee to the credit card company. Will not return!!
We ordered a couple of drinks from the bar and they werent as tasty as expected. But then we went upstairs and the drinks were better. Is a good place to eat and dance.
A trendy Mexican cantina with ambiance that is first class. The menu has a good representation of Mexi cuisine and prices reflect the premium food product that you are getting. The food was well presented and the speed of delivery reflects a well organized kitchen. Highly recommended, as it is a easily accessible within the metro area. Decent tequila collection, yet it would have been nice to venture into the less commercial gems of the Tequila landscape.
