I was on the hunt for some cherry shrimp for a planted aquarium and Google maps led me here. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The place is on the small side but it is VERY well stocked on all basic necessities and has a wide variety of fresh and saltwater fish and not only had the shrimp I was looking for, but multiple varieties as well. Everything was also very healthy and beautiful which is relatively rare in aquarium stores. The owner seemed very knowledgeable and he was really cool to talk to as well as very attentive. Ill definitely swing by here again and Id highly recommend anyone stop in, especially those setting up a new aquarium.

If you are new to either fresh water or salt water aquariums, you will be well advised to start your investigation at Coral Sea Aquariums! Dr. James is a font of knowledge and is running a top notch store and destination to visit.If you are experienced with marine and fresh water systems, this place is a gem! A real find!The invertebrates are literally glowing with health and gorgeous! The fish are possibly the healthiest collection of fish I’ve seen in South Florida!In a prior life I ran the saltwater section of a pet store for several years, later I graduated with marine science and geology degrees, this shop is inspiring and wonderful!Visit it! Be inspired!

I am very impressed with the knowledge that James and the other owner have. James has a PhD and is a Marine Biologist. Both owners are extremely helpful and considerate. I am definitely coming back for all of my aquarium needs and questions. My first visit was an excellent experience.

Very good selection of rock flower anemone when their in stick. Also my go to spot for rocks.

I travel the State of Florida for work and can usually tell about a store immediately. Upon walking in I was not overly impressed as the store looked dated. I was immediately (but not in a pushy manner) approached by the owner and then his mom (who immediately told me of there daily specials). The coral selection (Mostly LPS that I saw) was not bad, prices reasonable and the owner was very nice in packaging and answering questions for me which is the number one thing I look for. Some enhanced lights in the main Coral tank would do them Justice as my corals looked much better when I got them home.A diamond in the rough. I will be back.

James - the owner/operator is very versed in the hobby. He is very friendly and helpful.He recently purchased the business and we all need to help support small business like his. He is genuinely nice and intelligent.Best of luck James - you have earned my business and hope to drop by soon again for my regular needs.

My Wife and I stopped by last night for the first time in a few years. Coral Sea was a great place at one time but fell apart a few years ago. Nice to see a new owner working so hard to bring it back. Stop in to see the new Owner James. Bought a Yellow Angel who is looking healthy at home eating and acting like he owns the Quarantine tank. Great color. Stop by and buy something to help a local a guy. Thanks James for staying open a little longer for us answering our questions.

This store will now be my go to for everything for my fish! The owner helped me understand how to cycle my tank after buying the tank and fish from a big box pet store. He’s super knowledgeable and helped me make the right decision based on the situation in my tank! Definitely recommend beginners who don’t know everything to go here!

Knew what kind of fish I would like before I did!11/23/2019 update!I was busy with work for a few months but Ive come back to it and I now have my aquarium all set up thanks to Dr James! The fish all look very happy! Side note, hes very humble, I only learned recently hes run large aquariums out in Hawaii and California, and done extensive research as a marine biologist and educational outreach, as well as co-authored a book on the octopus! Do yourself a favor and come by the store if youre curious about starting an aquarium or are looking to expand your existing one. This was a hidden gem and the expertise you have access to here is invaluable!

They have a very nice selection of fish and coral. They are not your cookie-cutter pet store like Petco or petsmart, etc.. You will find a hand selected selection of fish and coral that you will not see in other stores. I will return for more.

After a disappointing experience with the large chain pet stores (I should have done my research beforehand) I was lead to this small, but fascinating shop. When walking in, I was a bit discouraged by the initial appearance inside. But to a trained eye, this place is amazing! There is such a wide variety of species from both salt and fresh water fish, corals, rocks, tanks, pumps, you name it! This little shop has it all. Including knowledge..! Dr. Wood, PhD is a Marine Biologist and was also featured on the Discovery Channel! I’ve never heard of a shop owned and managed by someone like him. He walked me through the beginning steps of my new aquarium, even pulling up a chart to visually explain the cycling process of water in the aquarium. He was very hands on with me and I feel like I left with more knowledge on this new hobby of mine in 10 minutes with him than all the reading I did online.The prices are fair compared to other local shops, especially for the quality of service you will receive here.I HIGHLY recommend this shop to any new and experienced aquarists. I absolutely will come back when my new tank has finished its cycle and look forward to Dr. Wood’s advice and help in selecting my first fish! Thank you!

Owner was extremely knowledgable about the fish, helped me get some cherry shrimp and went out of his way to inform me about them as well as get me some breeding ones. Also threw in free almond leaves for my tank! Fish all looked very healthy. 10/10

Dr. James is a SAVIOR! I listened to the employees at Petco when buying a new fish tank for my 2 little boys and their recommendations resulted in killing 5 fish within a months time. I spoke to 4 different employees at different times and not one of them gave me good advice! Im sad; my boys are sad...NOT a good situation. Dr. James is helping me to pick up the pieces of this nightmare they created. He is so knowledgeable and always available to help. He always answers my calls and talks me through any questions that I may have. I highly recommend you go see Dr. James for all your aquarium needs and most especially if you are uneducated as it is not as easy as one may think. Cant rave enough about him!!

I walk in not even a hallo so i walk back out with pocket full of money sad looking store not wat it looks online very poor care on what ever coral they had. The saltwater corner in the back the water looks yellow didnt see that much fish in them the system in the front. Corals were all brown clearly a sign of poor water quality

James and his store are fantastic! He personally helped me find everything from a tank to substrate to rocks for my first aquarium! His store is great for both highly experienced aquarists and first timers like myself! My tank is freshwater and he has everything you could need for it, but he specializes in saltwater. If you have or are looking into starting an aquarium, especially saltwater, or already have one set up I would not hesitate to drop on by and talk to James!

Very cool shop with a great selection. Owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I dont know any other aquarium shop that is run by a guy with a PHD in marine biology. Whether you are looking for live Coral or fish this is the place. If they dont have it, they will know how to get it for you.

James is just a wealth of knowledge! I learned so much from just dropping by his store. Beautiful saltwater and freshwater fish, and corals! Also, the store is very tech savvy, everything is on Alexa! I highly recommend dropping by and checking this store out. You never know what youll find!

James the owner is very knowledgeable about aquarium ownership, and fish. He was also very patient with my children, and answered all of their questions. If your looking to purchase a fish I would definitely recommend Coral Sea Aquariums.

Like the place. Nice selection of salt & freshwater livestock, a tad bit pricey on the equipment, but overall knowledge of aquarium set-ups. Bought a few fish, snails, & crabs.. We lost two within the week, I believe they maybe weren’t doing so well to begin with. Also, Dr. Woods PhD, the new owner... is a MARINE BIOLOGIST! Generally recommend this place! Just be observant when choosing livestock, as you would any other store.

Decent selection, good prices & great service.

The new owner Dr. James is a marine biologist and incredibly helpful and inf informative. He got us out of a real bind with my 9th graders science experiment with living coral. Saltwater quality sold there is better than most, that is why prices may be higher, the purity and quality is worth it. The shop has lots of fish and products for both salt and freahwater. It was worth the drive from Boynton. Thanks Dr. James!

Ive visited a few times. The owner is really awesome and knows his stuff. He is actually a marine biologist! The store has a really big selection of filters and tanks. They even have a bunch of corals, sea horses, and shrimp. The fish looked really cool and were very inexpensive compared to other places Ive shopped. I ended up buying a really awesome betta fish. It was cheaper than Petco or PetSmart and is so much bigger and healthier. I actually want to get another. I highly recommend this place if you are into fish.

James is a great, he is very knowledgeable, I had a great time in his shop. I would definitely recommend any/all to go and visit, you wont be disappointed.

New owner James is a cool guy. Used to work for the Waikiki aquarium before taking over this business. Very helpful with good deals and livestock.

Felt like the store was a utter mess. The livestock seemed very stressed and I found a few dead fish and crabs. The corals did not seem happy. Staff were friendly but hard to get past all the negative going on on the tanks.

There knowledge of Saltwater Aquarium is beyond expected.They walk you through the process as you test your water andprovide recommendations on how to get your tank back to whereit needs to be.I was and still am satisfied with how they treat you and the pricescompared to other Saltwater establishment are more than fair.

Customer service was terrible. I presume it was the the owner but he didnt even speak as I entered. I walked around and not once did he ask if he could be of assistance. Come to find out he was too busy playing a video game on his computer behind the counter. Shop seemed to be unorganized and poorly managed. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.

I bought 3 fish at the store and all of them were sick (already had holes in a head and white ich, which at the beginning I didnt know what it is so I asked a store guy about it and he told me its normal and fish is healthy!!!) I spend 210$ and those sick fish all dyed and my own fish got sick too ! And will probably dye . That store guy doesnt know what he is talking about and just wants to Sese Kl u sick animals! Very disappointing! Will never buy anything again and will not recommend to go there
