Nice 1/2 mile gravel path thru the woos along the Willamette River. Good for walking and trail riding on, not overrun with people. Spur training kill s lead uphill to the Bolton neighborhood and Library, downhill to a nice beach on the river and also a Blue Heron rookery viewing platform.
Hate is too strong a word. Disappointed is more accurate. Listed as being handicap accessible, which it most emphatically is not. Lovely views, but the trails are not easily managed. If you are able bodied, or an energetic 10 year old or a goat, you will be fine. If you have mobility issues, you may want to re-think this one.* I trail walk daily, 2.5-5 miles, and most of the trails have inclines, but these ones ? Really not that easy/fun
Beautiful, wooded, small hike. We walked through and then up the neighborhood it dropped us out in and down another trail. I can imagine it would get pretty muddy during the winter.
Cool little spot to spend an hour. They have a port a potty, dog poop bags and several picnic tables. They have a large sign which shows some of the history of the boat building that took place here. It is a short walk to the river where we saw small fish, crawdads and a snake in the water. There is a nice forest trail that goes down to burnside park as well and another that goes to the library.
Nice little place for a picnic by the river. Little parking lot. By the house there is a picnic table by the river. Walk down the path and there is a trail down to the waters edge. Connects to other trail system, to a park and playground. Lots of wildlife, including deer sightings. During the winter holiday,it is a great walk, especially for young kiddos. They light up the forest, and have a hunt for the kids. Great year round walking park.
With the river so high there is no shoreline now. But a nice quiet place to walk the trails.
A very nice and very small piece of public lands on the river.
At Christmas time, Maddax Woods is a special treat for families. Theres lots of lights, a path to walk, and a spot-the-animal game! Wear boots or shoes that you dont mind getting muddy and gear up for some fun!
This place was very cute. Not a lot of parking but was very cool to visit . very intimate and the light designs were so good and pretty. You can tell the family that does this puts al lot of love into it. Also its Free!
This was a great addition to our Christmas traditions. So much fun and beautiful setting. Thank you to the family for sharing this adventure with us.
Charming Christmas lights. Cant wait to come back in the daylight
Went for their holiday lights and it took less then 2 minutes to walk through and that was taking our time.
We went fishing in the boat over by there. great shad fishing for the kids. then use for lobster traps.
Cute little park. Has a portapotty in the parking lot and a little garden off to one side. Trails arent too challenging. Most of the year its a little swampy underfoot, so summer is the best time, but you can enjoy the park in the rain and snow as you wish. Surprisingly diverse wildflower display in the spring, even more surprising diversity of mushrooms in the fall so if you know your botany and mycology itd be a good educational trip for receptive kids and friends.
Its actually been a long time since I was there. And if your not into walking in footsteps made long ago by someone else, you might not get it. But its a pretty cool story, of love of your life, work, the world around you, commitment and a little sacrifice. The time it took him to make his boats, sail them, work them, then sell them is a testament to one mans, and his wifes, passion for a culture and life style. People these days dont understand working your whole life, not for prestige or to be on some damnedable reality T.V. show. Wish I could have shook his hand. B e a utifull land, nice walk, touching story. Not for the cell phone generation, unless they want to get it. Peace out.
Beautiful, peaceful, and with a lovely view and access of the river. Bring your own water though, because none is available there.
Lost a star because of minimal parking, and some steep walking ....wear sturdy shoes, otherwise, very lovely, peaceful, and worth visiting.
Cute little area decorated with lights and hidden animals. Fun spot for small kids. Shares West Linn history.
Very cute area. Fun to look at all the houses. Did the cute *FREE* walk around Christmas lights. Its not long but its simple but perfect to get out of the house to enjoy the outdoors.
Took my 2 year old for the Christmas lighting festival and she loved it! It was very cute but a little short on parking.
Fun jaunt through some nice Holiday Lights. Very peaceful. Great family fun.
Absolutely great place to walk. I recently saw 2 deer while I was there. The views of the river beautiful.
Not terrible, but very basic. A bark chip walking path with views of the Willamette
Great strolling place with Christmas lights. Leashed dog friendly.
A beautiful park on the river. We caught the blue heron watch conducted by some very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers.
Beautiful, serene setting by the river. During the holidays they light up the woods with Christmas lights.
Very quaint holiday lights display. Almost never any crowds. Relaxing place to take the family.
Not much to say. We went to a residential neighborhood to pick up a puppy to train for a disability dog as time goes forward. Im unsure of the Breeders though. I question stuff about them and the puppy, but they say to bad so sad you own him. If you see an ad on Facebook for American bulldog mix puppies & the peoples names are Jesse & Alexsandria, they are said to live around Scappoose (Hwy 30) & might want to meet across the I-205 bridge exit 8 & its in this area you might want to Q? it. We met at his bosses house on River St. Follow your gut or ask me for more.
Beautiful
Its a cute park, especially at Christmas. Nice for summer walks along the river too
Cute place to walk around. Grandson loved identifying all the animals
Great location with paved trails to covered picnic shelters. Good location for limited mobility individuals.
Beautiful area near central village in West Linn. River access, but no boat launch.
Blessed green and so beautiful.
Just a really nice area to walk along the river ....very, very, small parking area....no restrooms...one picnic table...like I said...small!...but really nice!
