The 88th(?) Purdue Christmas show was fantastic - professional grade! The music selection, singing, and supporting instrumental music were exceptional. With 175 performers on a smallish stage, the required choreography of mostly non-dancers was superb. This was a must-attend-next-year annual event.

One of the best auditoriums in the USA. Fun fact. This giant music Hall was built by the WPA during the great depression. That is why it is attached to the administration building. WPA college projects had to be additions to existing buildings.

This is a great place to take mid term exams. It is very large and could easily fit all 2500 Calc 3 students inside for our first mid term. The one downside of it, for, of course, taking midterms, is the fact that there are no desks inside of the Hall. Thus, we must use these boards that we lay across our laps in order to successfully complete our tests.

A rough ride in their smaller busses it seems like they always need new shock absorbers. Rough ride and the bus was not entirely clean there was some debris on the floor. The driver was very courteous and professional. Make sure you understand their cancelation policy is not very customer friendly.

The place was built for sound quality and viewing which were excellent. the most difficult thing is the bathroom situation and the narrow halls to the bathrooms. It is badly in need of renovation.

We went for the Purdue Christmas show. What a great time! There is not a bad seat in the place. They have huge monitors on either side of the stage so you can see what is going on up close. Great sound, the orchestra was outstanding! It was our first time to the show & i cant wait for next year.

While this place may instill bad memories for Purdue students, Elliot only invokes great memories for me!Ive had the pleasure of seeing rock/alternative, symphonic, and comedic performances in this venue. One major theme, for me, is how well the layout is in Elliot. If youre wondering about the balcony seating, the first section is as good as or better than some of the ground levels!

Worst place to take an exam in. You have to use a lapboard with hundreds of other people in a dimly lit area. Also, quarters are tight and the chairs are too comfortable to take an exam in.If you come for a show/event, though, its great. Youll have a good view no matter where you sit and its all pretty comfortable. You lose significant leg room if you sit in the balconies, though.

Saw Stomp with my family. Sat in Balcony 1 about 5-6 rows from the back wall. Visibility was good, sound was good as well. The seats are NOT meant for those of us over 6 tall. If you are, like me, your knees will hit the seat back of the one in front of you. If a long show this gets uncomfortable quickly.

Elliot Hall is a great place to watch a performance of any type or watch a family member graduate. Although it is showing its age, it has decent seats throughout. If there is a complaint to be made, it is in the accessibility for its patrons. The stairways are narrow and steep. If you need a handicap accessible seat, you must enter a special door on the side of the building, not through the general entrance. There are no elevators in the building.

The door for disabled people should have been open so they could get in. People were out there with oxygen. Walkers. Canes. And wheelchairs to see their loved ones graduate. Some older people got overheated standing in the sun. That was uncalled for. Not impressed AT ALL. Very poor service

There are a large amount of seats, all of which are very comfortable to sit in. The stage is decently large, with many different lights that can be used for many amazing effects. The sound system is superb as well (you can feel the bass like at a rock concert). Highly recommend for both putting on and going to performances.

This is not a theatre for people unable to walk multiple flights of stairs. There is NO ELEVATOR! The seats are not sized for anyone who is even slightly larger and the rows are very close together so there is little leg room. There is no obstructions, so each seat is a good seat as far as seeing the performance.

I recently attended a graduation ceremony for one of the local high schools. Not planned out well as they had the graduates entering through the same doors as the rest of us. Not convenient for them at all as they had to be there early to be placed alphabetically. Once the gates officially opened for the rest of us to find seats, it was very cold in there despite the building being completely full. I understand construction is going on right outside the building, but none to the building itself. Have other doors open for the graduates next time would be my suggestion.

Whay can you say a out a legitimate theatre that was built 6 seats larger than Radio City Music Hall in NYC? It was over 6,000 seat, but today both have smaller capacity becouse of newer ADA requirements. But, my Grandsons High School graduation class was about 600. So between the graduates, and all the relatives the Hall was packed full.

Review №95

Terrible acoustics. You can literally hear some minor reverberates in performances. If you have ever been to a nice theatre, concert hall or opera house and come here for a performance, you will miss the crisp, clean sound. Acoustics are still tolerable for musicals or rock concerts, but terrible for events like the concert given by St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, when you can clearly feel the unbalance from different parts of the orchestra. Just think about a piano concerto where you need to try hard to hear the sound of the piano.
