We absolutely loved dancing with you guys this past year. We have danced with both Elite Academy and Wasatch Art Center and neither can even compare with Classical Ballet Conservatory. My daughter has gained a new confidence in dancing and has flourished this past year. May I add that a huge chunk of this time she was learning through zoom. I cant quite find the right words to praise these amazing teachers and owner for their willingness to adjust to all the crazy of 2020. The recital we had the honor of participating in (Beauty and the Beast) was such an amazing experience. I really am in awe at what this studio was able to put together. It has been the highlight of this crazy time. Thank you so much to all the teachers and owner for all your hard work and all you do. Im so excited for my youngest daughter to start dancing with Classical Ballet Conservatory and for Aurie to keep growing that confidence as a dancer and person.
Great teachers, kids actually learn proper ballet positions and not just jumping around. They make it fun to learn. The year end recital combines all the levels together and its an amazing production.
Both of my girls love going to dance here
We love this studio. About 2 years ago, our preschooler wanted to take dance lessons.I am not a dancer but the question parents need to ask themselves before investing money into dance lessons is whether they want to have their child learn a dance versus HOW to dance. Also, dance is an art, not a competitive sport. Children should learn to dance for the health benefits, for the discipline and love of this art form. There are many dance schools that do tricks, showy stuff or trashy dance moves that should not be done by children. It was especially important to me to find a studio where the environment is safe and appropriate for my child and where the focus is on ballet. The director Ms. Elisse was very responsive. I had called other studios to inquire about registration and no one answered but she picked up right away and it was a plus that the studio is very close by our house. Things I like about the studio:1. Tuition schedule is easy and prices very reasonable (I think this school can get away with charging slightly more across the board), just blown away at the value we are getting back; we get costumes to keep at the end of the year! Very organized program.2. Several teachers are college educated, director has a master in fine arts. I find a lot of value in that because they have taken the time to learn and study how to teach this art form in a structured setting; not winging it as you go. The quality of teaching is very good here. Seriously this makes a big difference.3. No expensive inappropriate costumes, no questionable music and choreography at this school!!!!4. No insane time commitment for a 3-5 yr old. Just show up to class, show up to 2 recitals. (I disagree with the negative comments about the recitals, they were a delight to watch and not to be missed. I was very happy to see that there was nothing questionable or scandalous to see from older student performances so that makes me comfortable to continue having my children progress here.)5. My kids are little but like the other reviews whove mentioned they moved kids from other studios and happier here...my husband and I cant stop noticing the positive behavior from the older students, the teenagers. They are pleasant, well behaved, not rowdy I have never heard any profanity from any of them! They do not appear stressed out with learning how to dance and everyone seems to be good friends with each other. Parents are also very nice, they never make fun or critical of the dancers. Ive made some nice mom friends here.6. Great and supportive environment for boys & girls. (not common to see boys in ballet but they have a growing class of boy students) and great discounts to get boys studying balletNo reservations about the studio. Keeping our daughter here and planning to enroll her sister who is dying to take lessons.
This is Austins wife. But my husband goes to the classes as much as me and agrees. I was not prompted or told to write this review and dont know the staff on a personal level. I just noticed the negative reviews getting on to their website today.Seriously disregard them. Cbc is a wonderful dance studio! We love them. Expecting them to be perfect is absurd. Especially with out addressing your concerns. My daughter was apart of the class that was starting late. The second it was brought up this was happening it was immediately corrected. We have never had any issues besides that.It is not that difficult to tell your kids that something is not for them. If you cannot, wait in your vehicle or go do something. It is also not difficult to realize that they are a small business and need money to survive. Or just because they work hard and deserve it. Especially since they dont charge costume or recital fees.I am looking forward to bringing my girls tomorrow. They are beyond excited for summer break to end. The teachers are wonderful and always so kind to them. I would recommend them to anyone looking for ballet or tap! Thanks for all you do CBC!
Ive been unhappy with CBC for the past few months and will not be enrolling my daughter again. The teachers were friendly but the classes would start late and end on time. I feel like CBC is taking every advantage to make money off the parents. For example: In their dance studio, they have a corner of Melissa and Doug items for sale. It wasnt always there before. It was a pain to bring my other kids and have them ask me repeatedly if they could play with those items or if I could buy it for them. How about we try to make things easier on the parents? Its hard enough bringing them to practice. This past recital was painful. We get two free tickets and have to bring our girls to both shows plus the practice which didnt start on time. We werent allowed to record our daughters performance because they wanted us to buy the professionally filmed version. I just wanted my daughter to have fun, but all the extra annoyances I had to deal with is not worth it. Im not familiar with the dance world, so maybe this is normal. For me, not worth it.
Finally a non competitive dance studio. My daughter gets to learn tap, ballet, and jazz without all the pressure competitive studios put on young dancers. Also, tuition is a flat rate throughout the year. There are no costume, choreography, or recital fees. Truly a great dance studio without all the pressure or costing a fortune for quality education.
I was extremely disappointed in this ballet school. While the teachers were kind and had training of their own, it didn’t translate well to teaching. The recitals were pure torture to sit through. There was very little actual choreography just a lot of prancing around the stage. I was sad to see how little technical skills even the senior dancers had. None could do even a double pirouette through the full rotation. Leaps had no height, without full extension and often without pointed toes and with sloppy hands. There were ALWAYS “technical” difficulties at every recital. At one Christmas recital the audience had to sing the song so the girls could finish their dance. I can see it happening once, but every time????Having experienced what a good studio looks like in other areas, I’m sad to see that this studio has such great reviews. They definitely aren’t worthy of 5 stars. If you want your child to just have some fun, this studio is fine. If you want them to become a dancer and learn technique, go somewhere else.
Beautiful studio! Both my son and daughter love their classes here. The teachers all really care about their students and make it a fun and positive environment. We love CBC!
I cant say enough wonderful things about this studio! There is no better place to go if you want a well rounded, professional level experience for your dancer. The teachers all have significant training and degrees in their field and it shows when you see these dancers perform. My daughter is now a dance major in college and doing so well thanks to the technique and artistry she learned at the Conservatory. In fact, she still comes back for that training when shes home in the summer. Its THAT amazing! (My boys loved the studio as well!) Thank you so very much for giving my children a professional dance education in a wonderful atmosphere filled with an equal love for every dancer that comes through the door!
We are so grateful we found Classical Ballet Conservatory. My kids were about ready to quit ballet before we found this studio, and once we found CBC we never looked back. This dance studio has changed our lives and my kids cant get enough. They have grown so much as dancers since being here and they absolutely adore their teachers, as well as the wonderful friends they have made here. The teachers are very qualified, wonderful role models, professional, and genuinely care about all their students. I am extremely impressed with their background, technique, teaching skills, and the way they interact with their students. My kids have come so far both technically and artistically since being at CBC and the growth that I have seen as a parent is a joy in my life. They work hard in class and do their best because they want to improve and they want to be their best for themselves and their teachers. My oldest son especially was ready to give up on dance due to past experiences and this studio and the teachers reignited his passion and drive to dance again. He has come so far and still has so much more he can do. He absolutely loves dancing here and works hard every single class to do his best. He has also very much enjoyed the mens classes and Pas de deux classes and learning how to partner has been so valuable to him.My middle girls live to dance and love to dance and they adore everything about this studio and their teachers. My two littles enjoy their classes immensely and love performing at the recitals. My older kids love having ballet and contemporary classes, and my younger two enjoy ballet, tap, and jazz combo classes. This year they also got the opportunity to do the Youth America Grand Prix in solo pieces and ensembles and the one on one instruction with their teachers, going to the events and getting to perform on the big stages, and having their teachers with them throughout it all, was priceless and helped them grow so much.As a mother, watching my children do something they love brings me overwhelming joy and I am so very grateful we found a studio that not only challenges my children technically, artistically, and helps them become better performers, but also allows them to become better overall dancers, and students, as well as better friends and also helping to shape them into wonderful people. I honestly cant say enough good things about this studio. We love the teachers weve been blessed to work with: Elisse, Lauren, Claire, Carol, Gabriella, David, and Alisa. They have impacted our lives more than they will ever know. I highly recommend Classical Ballet Conservatory to anyone looking for a great dance studio.
We LOVE this studio! My daughter cant wait to go to ballet and tap and she was so cute as a baby Tinkerbell in the Peter Pan recital last spring. She loves miss Elisse and miss Lauren and is always begging me to go to dance. She has been taking dance at this studio since it opened a few years ago and Ive seen a lot of improvement in her abilities. Most of all, my daughter loves it and thats whats most important to me
I am a professional dancer and have taught dance all over the valley for 8 years. CBC has been my favorite studio to teach at with talented, hard working students. They are a choreographers dream come true :)!!
My daughter has absolutely loved her classes at CBC! (And I love getting to hang out at Gardner village while she dances.) She loves to show me what shes learning and keeps asking me when she gets to do another recital. We love Miss Elisse and recommend her studio to everyone we know!
I love every minute I spend at cbc!! It’s like my second home, I absolutely love all the girls and classes and cool experiences I get to have!!
Miss Elisse has been our daughters ballet teacher for 6 years. She is the most influential person in our daughters life (including us--her parents!). Her studio is such a wonderful, positive place and Elisse brings knowledge and creativity that is unmatched. We would recommend a dancer of any age to Classical Ballet Conservatory!
We came to CBC after spending 6 years dancing at a very well known dance studio in the area. My daughter was looking for something that was more Ballet focused and not competitive (after competing intensively for the last six years in various genres). I’m happy to say that CBC is a place where my daughter has been completely happy and surrounded in a positive environment. She has made great friends and the teachers are amazing role models. Elisse and her staff are incredibly talented and qualified. My daughter loves the classes and has regained her confidence after being broken down by previous teachers from the last studio. The thing I love the most is that they have never told her no- something that happens frequently in the dance world; often only the best dancers are given opportunities to do solos or take extra classes, and Elisse was willing from the start to let my daughter have opportunities that she would not have been allowed to have at our previous studio.Tuition is charged at a flat rate, and is absolutely fair and reasonable, considering the excellent technique that is being taught. I would stress though, that this is mainly a ballet school, but for our daughter who was looking to be taught the discipline of ballet it has been perfect. I would also mention that Elisse recently added Pas de deux class, which teaches partnering skills (very important for ballet dancers male and female) which is typically not offered at all the dance studios. This will prove to be very helpful as the dancers grow and help them become well rounded. I feel that if my daughter wishes to continue her dance education beyond high school she will be well prepared. We love Classical Ballet Conservatory:)
Dont know what to say
