Pretty long, challenging course.Played it over a month ago, so, memory is a bit hazy, but I do recall a decent amount of variety for each hole.The staff is friendly... you will definitely enjoy your golf outing here.

Enjoyed playing the course staff was accommodating after they charged me twice for a round I previously booked on GolfNow. It took 3 days to refund the charge. Play was slow 5 hours and there was no ranger on site to move slower players who were playing black tees which were over their ability. I still shot 39 out and 40 in despite waiting on every tee.

Good Course but needs better maintenance. Avoid going after it rains due to it being in a flood zone near the water. Ball washers by every hole but not all have water. Lots of water holes. Very fun.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Had a 3pm tee time which I paid $56 for, got to play 3 holes, and then it began to downpour. After waiting an hour for the rain to stop, they decide to close the course (fine, totally fair). Initially they would not give us a rain check but after arguing with the manager they agreed to give us a 9 hole credit, not great, but something. When I called to make a reservation to use my credit, they wanted to charge me an additional $44 to play 18 holes and would not let me just play 9. $100 to play 18 holes at a course that isn’t the Bethpage black? No thank you, I’ll take my business elsewhere.UPDATE: the course replied to my post and made incorrect accusations. Let me reiterate, my original round was for a Saturday afternoon at 3pm (not weekday twilight like suggested by the course). I tried to make a new reservation for Saturday at 3pm for 9 holes to use my credit. The course said I couldn’t make a 9 hole reservation and wanted to charge me $44 on top of what I already paid them in order to use my 9 hole credit.

First time there ! Tough but fair ! In great condition especially the greens ! For any golfer who wants to test their game !

The only thing worse than this course is their customer service. The overbook and the course is packed. They are completely unprofessional and treat their customers rudely. Save your money and play at a better course.

Best place for fuel on the Great South Bay. Excellent service and lowest fuel prices.

Bergen Point is is good shape but the guys who work the course have an attitude like they are doing you a favor to play. This is not a one time incident they need a serious attitude adjustment.

Tim, the superintendent, does a really great job with limited resources. He knows his business and is there every day well before the crack of dawn. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in the best condition they can be and the bunkers are always raked. Works for me..

Close to where I live. Inexpensive. Some challenging holes. Conditions of greens and fairways were often in poor shape.

I love the course, play here most weekends - the tees, fairways and greens are well maintained - and that, my friends is what makes a golf course. When I originally wrote a bad review last year, the course was winding down for the season - most of the staff were done for the year and was under attack from thousands of Canadian Geese that decided to make the course their own. I look forward to another season of golf and ribbing the course pro Kevin.

Overall I enjoy playing this course. Greens are - for the most part - well maintained and there are a few really fun holes. Only downside is that the course sits next to a wastewater treatment plant so it can get pretty smelly on holes 11-13 if you get a wind coming out of the south. If youre a Suffolk County resident, Id highly recommend buying the Suffolk Green Key, which gives you a great discount on greens fees for this course and several other nice courses across Long Island.

Nice course with flat terrain and lots of water hazards, although not extremely challenging. The greens had just been aerated so they were bumpy and sandy. Would like to play there again when the greens are grown in.

Nice course, well maintained. Usually walk right out as a single. Can get pretty slushy after a rain only reason its 4 instead of 5 stars. Friendly staff as well.

This was most definitely the worst course out of all of the Suffolk owned courses on Long Island. I would not go back there again because of the fairway conditions and the overall quality of the course.Also if you want a disrespectful staff the this is the course for you. I suggest when you guys hire young adults that they are respectful individuals because what I witnessed was very rude and very inconsiderate and not only to me but the players around as well.

First time, last time.. Without question The worst course I ever played...little or no grass in the fairways, gravel sewage puddles, mud ( no drainage visible... This place should be closed its an insult to other course management groups which maintain courses at a much higher level.Long Island deserves better from public golf courses!One star is one too many for this gravel pit!

Being generous with 3 stars. The layout is ok, but the conditions today were bad. Course needs a lot of maintenance to get up to playable standards and there really is nothing about the track that is memorable.

This isnt Suffolk counties greatest course. It has some spots that are dead in the rough. Some bunkers have a lot of rocks. My group like this course because the greens are always great. Tough but fair for the different handicappers that we play with. The unassuming bar has some really good food and never fails to disappoint. Last but not least to mention the staff is always top notch.

Location wise it is convenient. Although this has been my favorite course even when it was not. The fairways and greens are most of the time are very good condition. The course itself is challenging but not completely unplayable. I would caution if after heavy rains, its drainage is weak and could have severe puddling.

Closed for winter but needs some work on a few holes

Quite possibly the worst course I have played on to date. For starters on the fairways their were huge dirt patches that looked straight ripped from the ground, their was also sewage puddles lining the course. I came across two dead animals on the course one on the first hole ( a dead fish carcass) and at the fifth hole a dead beaver which looked like it had been laying their for several days. Several of the benches where tilted and uprooted from the ground as if they were being held down by paper. The water looked like actual fecal matter, foamy and brown was the easiest way to put it. The worst part of the course was the horrid smell of the SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT right next to the course. If you do decide to spend money playing at this course be sure not to go on a windy day!

This course is really only worth playing if you are a Suffolk County resident with a Green Key. The do keep the course in decent condition for the most part, but the 11th, 12th and 13th holes are next to the sewage treatment plant thats down there.But the actual course is fair for golfers. Offers some challenges, but not overly difficult.

Played my first and last round at Bergen Point on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Would give zero stars if I could.First of all, I am not a golf snob. I only play the Town and County courses in Suffolk and some of those are in pretty sketchy shape. Bergen Point may be the worst of them. And that includes Holbrook CC which has had tee boxes made up of crab grass and dirt for as long as I can remember. So I guess you can check one off in BPs favor, their tee boxes are better than Holbrooks.But before I continue talking about the conditions of the course, a word about the level of respect the staff may have for you and your time. You see, a tropical storm was approaching LI this particular weekend and so a large group of golfers who ordinarily play on Sunday mornings (with reserved tee times no doubt) showed up on Saturday morning to play.Now Im a fair fellow, but when five groups call or show up to tee off first thing in the morning when the tee sheet is already full, well Im sorry boys but regulars or not, youll have to try your luck on Sunday. But somehow the pro shop and or starter decided that there was room for five groups. So that means that my groups 6:53 reserved tee time became 7:45. Maybe that explains why it took 20 minutes to check in at the pro shop, he wasnt having computer problems, he was trying to stop the hands of time to find room for five extra groups. How about you guys refund the $4.00 reservation fee I was charged when I had to cancel one of the four reservations I had made because I couldnt get a single one of my jabroni friends to fill out the group? While were at it, how about you refund $4.00 to me and each member of my group for the reservation fee that clearly is not necessary?Oh and by the way, it turns out the Sunday golfers missed out on literally the nicest day of the year as Sunday was sunny and 75. But thanks for being so special that you can have my reserved tee time.The course was in ok shape provided you were on the fairways or greens and not in one of the many soft, swampy areas of turf on said fairways. If youre off the fairway you can expect patchy dead grass at best and rocky hardpan at worst. The upside is that you can get some tremendous run on your drives that land in the rough.Bare ground is abundant around nearly every green. The greens themselves were in OK shape and had some nice undulation to them. Nothing really to complain about regarding them and are probably the next best thing about the course, after the tee boxes.If youre thinking about going to Bergen Point you should do yourself a favor and head a bit further east and play Timber Point instead. The Blue course plays along the bay and is beautiful. And no wastewater treatment plant to spoil views or air.Bergen Point is a golfing abomination.YMB
