Got here Saturday morning for a soccer match. What a surprise. Such a stunning park. With tons of parking but most of all amazing trails and opportunity to enjoy a perfect fall morning. This place could easily be anywhere in good old England. Thanks for preserving this area!!

Was an extremely pleasant stroll throughout the gardens here today. Small areas where you can sit in the shade. You go early enough you can snatch a table where if you bring your cooler etc you can just relax, chat and enjoy a very zen surrounding area. Just please clean up after urselfs. Adults are $10 a ticket and they have posted 12 and under enter free.

Went kayaking here, quite pleasant! Turn right after the first bridge (one way road) and the launch point is all the way around the loop just past the second, small bridge. There will be a small parking lot with a fence and grass field, you can look on the satellite view of the map to see it. To the far right hand corner is the kayak/canoe launch point, although it is down a small embankment (pictures for reference.) Bring bug spray!FYI the water can be a bit shallow at some points, especially towards the waterfall, but still passable.

A beautiful old estate of the early 1900s on the Charles River. It has a small wooded trail, canoe access and soccer fields. The central part is fenced off and controlled by the Massachusettes Horticultural Society, which charges admission to its beautiful flower gardens. There is a very nice sledding hill for the winter. Several special event occur throughout the year. A good place for weddings and other functions.

I visited Elm Bank for a wedding and I really liked it. The venue is absolutely beautiful. The trees and all the plants look great. They had their wedding ceremony in front of the big fountain with the fish spitting out water. The staff was very nice and attentive to all of our needs. I spoke to the manager to get the wifi password since the AT&T cell coverage was so poor. They had the reception afterwards at the Hunnewell building and had a bar and dancing behind the building in a big tent. This place is a great spot to have weddings, I would recommend it to anyone that lives in the area. My only complaint is that the tent where the dancing happened was a little too small and was kind of crowded. Other than that the venue was absolutely perfect.

Extensive gardens with lots of different plants, too many to label adequately. There is a tour three times a day with a very knowledgeable guide who has worked with plants for decades. In spots the gardens were not as lush as others. The manor house has fallen into disrepair, but since no one has any use for it, nothing is being done to prevent further decay. Unfortunately, it will cost millions to restore it to its former glory. The park itself could use a large infusion of cash to build a better access road and bridges that a bus could cross, which would enable bigger groups to visit. The employees and volunteers seem very dedicated and hardworking.

Great trail on the Charles. Lots of space for dogs to run around, a nice little swimming area for hot days (for dogs), and plenty of alternative trails so you never have to walk the exact same path twice. Great for trail running too AND there is a kayak/canoe entrance to the river with a nice little parking lot. There are big open fields that have soccer games in the spring/summer/fall. The horticultural center is here as well if you want to see some beautiful flower arrangements and landscaping. Elm Bank has it all!

Very scenic historical site, once home to Quinobin vocational school. Now owned by Massachusetts Horticultural society. Has an amazing abandoned mansion with extremely large upkept gardens, a zen type garden with water feature, historic statues, herb garden, prized flower gardens, large soccer field, boat launch to the Charles, historical information center, gift shop, all tied together with walking paths. There is a large trail around the peninsula in a wooded area. Has lots of events here such as flower shows, antique shows, gardening classes, Christmas tree festival. Worth checking the website for happenings. Very busy place in the nice weather.
