Very helpful and knowledgable about fish. They have a nice variety of tropical and marine fish. I get my freshwater snails here because of the large selection of snails.

Love this store! They always provide me with lots of information and suggestions for my tanks and great info on tank mates or ideas for nano aquariums. Everything from the rimless tanks, rocks, plants, fish, gravel were supplied by aquazoo :)

I dont come here as often as I should! Every time I do Shannon and Prosper are on top of it, and the new staff are equally friendly. I got some stunning ruby tetras today and was able to have an educational chat about some plants I havent had before. Normally we go to big box because its closer to our new home but the we had such a bad experience with their undertrained staff we made the trip out to get some quality customer service. Everything in this tank has come from them from the wood to the substrate and its going on 4+ years. Thanks so much for all the hard work!

The fish selection is very diverse and plentiful - both salt and fresh water. You can purchase filtered water for a pretty nominal amount, and that has saved our fish. Theyll test your water as well and help you trouble shoot. They are very knowledgeable about aquariums and will not let you over populate your tank or allow you to get into a situation you arent prepared for.

Went there for the wild caught Emperor Tetras which have great color and health. Their store has an impressive selection of fish and inverts. AquaZoo has many items in close proximity, I recommend taking your time and looking around. Wife and I will be going back soon.

This store is in my top 3 freshwater tropical fish stores in the Houston area. The owners are always helpful and clearly experienced in the hobby. They always have a wide selection of fish and plants, so much so that I see something new or interesting every time I go. They have a good relationship with their importers and wholesalers as they seem to be able to fill special orders pretty fast. They are also easy to contact over email and get back to you quickly. Personally, I’m a corydoras and pleco guy, and I’m blown away by the awesome number of wild corys and L-number plecos they usually have. Honestly, mom-and-pop stores like one got me into the hobby. Sadly, they are as rare as hens teeth these days, but I’m glad to call this one my LFS.

Ive been going to Aquazoo for a while now and it is about a million times better than chain pet stores. Customer service is great, the quality of fish is amazing, and the variety of fish in awesome. They have regular fish and they also have exotic fish that you cant find anywhere else in the Houston area, and they are even at a great price.

I bought three fish here. The tetras had ick, it killed my entire established tank including a cat, two loaches, my other tetras, and of course the three new fish. I’ll need to sanitize the tank and start over. Won’t be buying from this store again.

It needs a lot of improvements though they do have many type fish. Very small place which needs to be organized and updated. Owners are very quite and are always busy.

Love the owners they are gems in this hobby with lots of knowledge. If you approach them and show respect like you should they treat you the same. Great selection were I always find something new. And they keep synodontis cats on a regular basis.

They have some beautiful big fish but when I was in there today to try to get some fish that could survive the size of my other fish, they didnt offer to help or even ask what we were looking for. When we tried to get some fish wed found that were perfect, they said that the tanks were were looking in were display tanks and werent for sale. The only ones of the fish we wanted that they would sell were too small for our tank and would have been eaten by our fish. They really need to mark tanks as display so they dont disappoint potential long term customers. They didnt really seem to care much. Like i said, beautiful fish, the customer service just wasnt there. Its a shame because there arent that many aquarium stores that have that size of fish close by.

I visit this plaza on El Darado all the time. The shops look small, but they always surprise me. Auqazoo is actually much larger than it seems from the outside. They have a really good selection of fish or other aqua animals. If youre starting an aquarium they have all youll need. Unfortunately, my only complaint is the size, even though they made the area they have work, its still a pretty small store

I have been visiting Aquazoo for years and they never disappoint me. They have a wide range of dry goods, many healthy freshwater fish, and a small selection of salwater fish and coral. This is my go-to store for one of the foods I feed my fish, and they always give me great advice.

Very good selection of fresh water products and small tanks. Customer service was outstanding as well. Lady at the counter was very busy but remained polite and answered all my questions perfectly! Prices are comparable to other pet stores so no problem there. Definitely would recommend to any aquarium enthusiasts! Will definitely return for future business!

I normally dont write post about people or their establishment but the person was so rude to me. I felt it necessary to tell others about my experience. I went into aqua zoo on Thursday l am new to the fish world. I have been doing dog rescue and behavioral training for many yrs. ( not advertising ) but when it comes to the fish world l learning which leads to many questions. Long story short l went into aqua zoo to asked what fish were compatible with the fish l had in my tank. The owners wife was rude, short and almost put out by my presents. I purchased 4 fish that she recommended thinking she might be having a bad day. She told me that since l had a blue Gourami she couldnt sell me a pearl one l asked why because l truly didnt know the Gourami and Pleco came with the tank l Purchased. She told me with a tone of Superiority the blue Gourami was the most aggressive of the breed they did not carry them or any other common fish. I really wanted a pearl so l gave him to my friend who was also new to the fish world. I found out later from other sources that is not always the case. All that l aside l went in today to get my pearl Gourami and told her that the blue Gourami is not always aggressive some can be timid like mine was and even get bullied. She told me her husband has been doing this longer than l have been alive. She was extremely rude to me. I would normally just let it go but this is the second time she treated me like something she stepped in. I asked why are you like this you were rude to me when l came in the other day and even more so today. Well that set her off she told me to leave her store and never come back. I told her she was not a nice person and that l would write a post about how l was treated because no one should have to be treated that way. Her husband was a very nice man but she was even short with him. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is new to the fish world. The lady is very short, rude and Intolerant. She certainly doesnt like to be call out on her rude behavior. She went as far as to tell me l wish l could post about your behavior. I asked her what behavior because l didnt want to be treated badly? After reading other reviews on yelp it confirmed what l thought l was just imagining but l did feel she was racist thinking l was of Spanish decent. I felt it both times l went in. Another thing l don’t post about is racism. I am aware It exist because of my features people assume l am Mexican. When l read the yelp reviews the people that were treated badly had the same features. I also get that they are of the old generation were this was expectable but wrong will never be right. I noticed they deleted my review on their fb page and blocked. me. There seems to be no limits to their bad behavior. It’s just sad.

I recently found this awesome little shop because they were the only store in the area to carry certain supplies that I needed. I was instantly welcomed with warmth and knowledge. These people love what the do and dont just tell you what you want to hear to make a sale. I would encourage everyone in the hobby to support shops like this. Amazing selection. Always have rare fresh and saltwater stock and really cool wild caught odd balls. All the fish are very healthy and the owners are a wealth of information. It can get busy and the small tightly packed space can become very crowded, but just be patient and it will be worth it!

This place is fantastic! I have never seen a sick fish in their tanks in the 4 times Ive been here. I will definitely be coming back soon! They have a very wide selection of stock and often have fish I cant find elsewhere. They are the closest store to me that sells sponge filters. The people running the store are so nice and knowledgable too.

My daughter and I have been shopping for a fish tank for about 2 months. We found Aqua Zoo after several failed attempts at finding something we loved at the big stores. The store is small, but as soon as my family walked in the owner Shannon made us feel like we came to the right place. We needed help and she made everything seem so simple and assured us shed be with us each step along the way. We noticed an aquarium in-store that we liked, but since it was for my daughter we wanted something other than brown. She ordered it in white and within 2 weeks we had a custom tank and stand at a good price. We love it! She has taken her time coaching us each step of the way to ensure we have a healthy tank and healthy fish.

I walked into here nervous if they would care because of my young age, that never happened by that I mean Im a kid and they dont treat me like Im stupid, before I even bought my filter, (which works very good by the way) she answered questions that I had asked and I had a feeling they were good. Unlike when I go to pet smart and they lie to get money. That filter is better then ANY filter I could of bought at petsmart I will definitely come here more often

Great place to buy fish and supplies, always my first choice when it comes to the stock in my cichlid tank. Everything they carry is the best on the market, such as foods and filter media. Small store but thats the best thing about it because they get to know you on a personal level and I appreciate the effort they put into making sure you get a healthy fish and a healthy aquarium community. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a better experience than a big box store. Wish I could give them more stars.

This is my local fish store. The staff recognizes me now that I am in there a lot and they have always been helpful. Even before I started spending money in there they would help answer questions. They do get busy and with the store being as tightly packed as it is it can be a little awkward navigating the store. I am patient though so I just get out of the way and wait for my turn.Yes the place is small and the selection is a product of the space available, but I will say the fish the do have are healthy and safe to add to your tank. They care for their fish properly and will refuse to sell you a fish that they are not confident that it is healthy. I have been to a lot of the stores around town and I have on more than one occasion been sold sick fish that get all the rest of my fish sick too. It is, in my opinion the worst thing that a store can do. I consider it down right disrespectful.I bought a filter there last weekend and it had a crack in it and they did not hesitate to exchange it. They have a good selection of food and chemicals as well as accessories. Lots of driftwood too, thats next on my list.I would give five stars if the store itself was a little easier to shop and move through. Even so, I will continue to shop there, I prefer it to the larger big box chains.

Its a husband and wife owned shop and they are always willing to give you the best rather than trying to make a quick sale. I get a lot of my aquarium plants from them and whenever I have a question theyre very knowledgeable. I enjoy coming in and looking at their assortment of fish that you dont quite find at a regular Petsmart or Petco, despite being a small shop.

The place for the serious aquarium hobbyists in the Clear Lake area. Almost every sq.ft of the shop is crammed with fish tanks and aquarium supplies. The owners Prosper & Shannon are very knowledgeable and will provide good advice unlike the sales guys in the big stores like Petsmart and Petco. Go here and get good healthy fish (saltwater and freshwater) and good advice to avoid or take care of any issues that may crop up in the aquarium.

The selection of fish is great but their prices are high and the owners seem uncomfortable with customers. My little boy who is 9 with special needs needed to use the restroom and they said he couldnt so I had to take him elsewhere. I guess they are worried about theft or something. They never said a word to me or my husband.

The selection of fish at this store is nothing short of astonishing, though their freshwater section is much larger then their saltwater. Another bonus is the large fish section, not something alot of store invest in. It seems a little crowded inside but that because it jam packed with so many fish! Customer service is outstanding as well. Highly recommend that you check this place out if your serious about keeping fish.

If you need frozen food for your fish (Omega One Carnivore, Brine Shrimp, Blood Worms) this is the place to buy. Lower prices than petco and petsmart. They even have food for smaller fishes with smaller mouths.

When Imrecently went to Aqua Zoo I saw a small entry door thinking This isnt so good. THEN I went in and WHAMMY! I could not believe what a great little gem was there. It has everything. As I was shopping the owner was unloading a Pla not delivery with a load of plant in an array of variety, everything I wished for in a planted tank. Beautiful, healthy fish many varieties. I found a gem with everything you want for your aquarium.
