Is a good stop off. My 11 year old really liked it. Spend 30 minutes looking at heavy equipment and explaining the wall.
A work in progress, this place is beautifully laid out and is really nice. It has memorial plaques, bricks, stones, and a small version of the wall found in DC. There are gardens with lovely, thought out walkways and flowers; helicopters, and vehicles. We went after hours so that is just whats on the outside.
Husband trained at Fort Wolters in late 60s. He loved flying helicopters even though he was stationed in Vietnam. We toured the outdoor areas as it was closed. They are building a wall of names that was lost and we plan to go back when the Museum is open and not so hot.
There was a lot of information here, and its only going to get better when the new museum is complete, hopefully in November. The grounds are also landscaped beautifully. We will visit again later this year.
My family and I enjoyed the outdoor exhibit. We hate it was closed when we arrived but I like the fact you can still see everything that is outside. My dad was a Vietnam veteran and it is a great way to gonor them.
Very informative tour. Two helicopters, a tank and othet army vehicles on display outside.
What a beautiful tribute to our military hero’s. Definitely worth the stop and a donation in the box.
Was a really nice place to go and had an absolute blast learning more about the war.would highly recommend for others to go if they had the time to its an exceptional overall experience
Support this place! Our vets deserve it.
I had the opportunity to visit the National Vietnam War Museum in Texas and it brought back many memories of my time over there. It is well worth your time to visit museum
I love anything military history.
Actually arrived after they closed but was still able to walk around and view some of the Vietnam Memorials
Small venue but a lot of history and the staff was awesome. They are constructing a knee building which will allow for more space so the first thing I mentioned will soon be gone. Great history, the memorials are always sad to see but in the same breath it’s important to remember and respect. Tactical vehicles and helicopters throughout the property, I think if you enjoy anything device related you will enjoy this stop and make sure you speak with the staff those guys are awesome!
Was pleased to find this museum on my travels
Great museum! Lot of history about the men and women of a war that should never be forgotten!
Very nice! They have done a lot of work honoring the men and women for their sacrifice.
Enjoyed our time here. Everyone needs to go. A lot of interesting things and knowledge.
Much better than I thought! Friendly and knowledgeable vet who was very helpful! Will be back.
I was absolutely appalled with the service I got at the National Vietnam war museum when I visited America. Not only was there a bad smell (I’m guessing a blocked drain), but also, I asked one of the members of staff for some information and they rudely replied “I don’t know, you’ll have to ask somebody else” before walking off. I don’t understand why somebody with so little information and training was left to assist visitors. I am not happy, will not be recommending!
Well worth a visit just to see the replica of the wall. Computerized kiosk allows you to locate any name easily. Nice memorial to those who served in Vietnam.
Thank you for sharing and educating the public to what life was really like in country from those of us with first hands experience vs. Media and bureaucrats version. Welcome Home and thank you for your service. Interesting artifacts and stories. Looking forward to when the project is completed. I suggest you visit on line and help support this project with your generous donations. As I just learned, the site is open 24/7 and the Vistors Center has limited hours based on volunteers to occupy the office. Highly recommend visiting.
The museum is quite small, but has interesting items in it. It has a wheelchair ramp, but I dont think there is enough room inside to manuever one. JMO though. They have a few military vehicles outside. Be aware there are port-a- potties outside, but no public restrooms inside.
Its a work-in-progress but its starting to look really nice
There building up everyday very cool place with much to see and hear the stories
Great interactive hands on memorial that had the children intrigued and asking tons of questions. Sit in Vietnam war era trucks, climb into tanks, and get up close and personal to the helicopters. This up close, personal and hands on approach was absolutely a wonderful family learning experience. The visitors center had tons of displays, information and souvenirs. Our kids loved this so much they have asked to see more memorials.
My heart and prayers goes out to the families who have servedor have lost members who served our country to have FREEDOM!
Awesome place to learn history.
The vietnam war memorial has been recreated, which is immensely powerful for those who have not seen the real one in DC... this itself is worth the visit.
Enjoyed this museum a lot the gentlman there was very helpful
Solitude relaxing place to remember
Sad to see all the name but inspirering
Theres a replica of the Vietnam Veterans wall and lots of other things to see. It was a touching experience. I would recommend going to everyone.
We went as a group with the First Cavalry, A Co. 229th AHB, Vietnam Helicopter 50 year reunion in 2016. We spent about two hours walking the entire grounds and looking around inside the souvenir store. I bought a few things but I love my helicopter flag shirt. We really enjoyed the historic sites and all the love and sincerity the owners have for Vietnam vets. The owners couldn’t have been more accommodating to 56 old vets. As this museum continues to grow, I think it will become a historical site. I highly recommend this museum for visitors who want to learn more about the Vietnam war and see the equipment on display like the Vietnam Veteran Memorial wall and the Huey helicopter.
Small but a nice place to stop by and see the memorial for those that paid the ultimate price.
A museum with great potential, there are a number of Vietnam era military artifacts as well as several memorial gardens on display, a new building is under construction which will allow a lot more of the museums artifacts to be displayed. The site also contains a replica of the Vietnam memorial.
The permanent building appears to be nearly ready.
I took my two small boys and we walked around. They are to small to understand but I soaked in a lot!
This place was very interesting. The volunteers who run it are so nice and informative. We were glad to have made the trip.
Alot to see. They are adding a new larger building to house all the things they have to honor men in arms. Several planes, paths to walk.a wall that shows all the men lost in the war.
Its a very interesting place. Ive been a few times. Also if you play Pokemon there are a few stops and a gym.
A wide variety of artifacts from Vietnam. Is easy to see how much work went into the exhibits there. Well worth the visit. My father served two tours there, I think it makes the war hit home.
Brings back good and bad memories
Good place to visit, especially for Vietnam vets and their families and friends.
Honoring our Military
Great place rich with history. Replica of the wall is very moving seeing all three names. Worth three trip to see.
Great place to visit love the guys that are there till of information.
Grounds are well kept. Staff is friendly. Learned more than I knew, which is always great.
I think its cool being able to visit where you can see who died fighting for you.
Great place to visit and learn more about the Vietnam War. Lots of interesting indoor and outdoor exhibits. Visitor Center is run by volunteers, so call before you visit the museum to verify they will be open when you plan to arrive.
Must see for any veteran.
Support the vets when ever possible!
Really amazing place with decommissioned military vehicles and always changing and growing in offerings. Really fun even if youre not into military history!
Cool place to stop off and visit
Made me cry. WTG veterans!
Tons of great information, beautiful gardens, kept up land and lots of interesting military vehicles. Free to visit and explore but donate if you can so they can expand their building!
Interesting museum, small but lots of info packed into one place
Very nice place and they could use our help getting funds for the new building needed. Must visit. Thank you.
Its a great place for those who are interested (or just want to look at) Vietnam era weaponry, gear, and stories.
Note first. Google maps has the memorial located in the wrong place. It should be west, near the point where Maddux Road intersects Highway 180. Just west of the Hike Trail Overpass. The memorial is well worth the visit. A memorial Wall, Assorted military vehicles and a garden adorn the grounds.
Working on building a new museum. They could use more contributions. Good so far.
Great little memorial /museum and staff is friendly
Here I cam find some Serenity with my lost comrades.
Friendly people. Cool history
