The cabin is great. If memory serves me correctly it was pretty clean. The layout was great for the four of us who stayed. It’s great that they are pet friendly. The fire pit is nice but can be a trick to get to when the ground is covered in ice. The parking can be a challenge if you have bigger vehicles but we were able to make it work with 2 large trucks. Overall a great cabin with great views.
When first pulling up to our cabin it looked like it needed more upkeep. The picnic table looked dilapidated and had weeds growing underneath. There were two white chairs that were turning black from mold on them. The grass was over grown and needed cut. Inside of cabin was okay. A couple of problems. When we crawled into bed that night, the sheets were still damp. We had to strip the bed and throw them in the dryer before we could go to sleep. A few light bulbs were out in the cabin and there was none in the cabin to replace them so we had to get bulbs from othere areas to replace the ones we needed to use. We didnt get to enjoy the deck very much because there was a birds nest out there with baby birds in it and we were either getting dive bombed by the mother bird and there was just bird poop all over the deck. Also several carpenter bees boring into the wood all over the cabin. The couch in the living area was not cleaned under. We wondered why our dog was trying to get under it and found old dog food along with old M&Ms, a water bottle, and a childs cup under the couch. Please be aware you have to haul away your own trash from the property. This could be a problem if your vehicle is full. I have stayed in multiple cabins in my lifetime and its always been the courtesy of the rental agency to do this for you. AND you have to strip the beds yourself before leaving. Not sure why the cleaning crew cant do this.
Very clean great viewWould stay again.
This is the 4th time in 4 years we have been evacuated due to approaching Hurricanes. Ray and his wife are some of the nicest people we have every met. The own a track of land and there are 4 cabins to pick one depending on how many people you have. I have always called Ray about 4-5 days before the mandatory evacuations. Ray went out of his way to hold a cabin for us, as promised he had a cabin. Awesome family run cabins, that are well equipped with silverware and pots and pans and a great charcoal grill. I would reccomed staying in this quaint 4 cabin community. There are grocery and pharmacies about 10 minutes down the road, and it has really taken off over the years. To name a few, Publix and Walgreens, carwash and a ABC (Liquor store). It is perfectly 25 minutes to Cherokee and a huge Harrahs casino. As well it is about 25 minutes to Asheville. Perfect location.I hope everyone reads this post and know your in good hands with Ray and his wife.Thank you,Sailfish22.
Absolutely beautiful! If youre looking for comfort away from home, this is certainly the place to go. The cabins are close to Maggie Valley and Waynesville. My family and I had an amazing experience there.
