This little slice of heaven was absolutely wonderful for an anniversary getaway. We stayed in a cabin and it was beautiful, private, and so relaxing. The place was as beautiful as the website portrays. The sheets and pillows were incredible and the views from the hot tub were truly magical. Due to covid, they offered breakfast delivered to the room. The food was tasty and the staff made sure to add little touches, like quotes of the day and adorable mason jars you could purchase if you wanted. The cabins were extremely clean and the staff was stellar. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway with a special someone.

First stay EVER at a bed & breakfast. Expectations after booking: great service, hospitality. Photos were absent and because it was in the middle of nowhere, it might or might not be the cleanest. This place definitively deserves 5-stars for a couple reasons: the hospitality / service / staff and cleanliness. I was totally blown away by the amount of detail and care the staff take to ensure that you are taken care to the best of their ability.Ice cream and wine hour every single night (with ice cream at 9 PM, wine and cheese hour in the evening, forget what hour, estimating around 7) with room cleanings taking place around 10 AM - 2 PM. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. One night we did not know where to go to eat and the staff spent a couple minutes chatting about a few places and the atmosphere and type of food that each restaurant serves. Ultimately we eventually decided on a place in Charlottesville (which was about 30 minutes away) but the attentiveness of the staff left a lasting impression on me.Breakfast is served between 8-9 AM and they always have a cookie jar and coffee/tea available. Try the cookies...they are amazingly chewy and I definitely had a couple too many while I stayed here.Overall, my stay here was one of the highlights of my trip. I was here for hiking and a relaxing weekend and the staff definitely exceeded my expectations. You will not regret staying here.

We had an incredible weekend at the Iris Inn! We arrived to our private cabin and truly enjoyed every part of out experience there. It felt like we were in a tree house. We enjoyed all the perks the cabin had to offer, from the hot tub to our morning breakfasts for two delivered right to our door, and movies by the fire. As an added bonus we also enjoyed the cake for two and the Charcuterie snack pack, that we took with us on our hike at St Marys Falls. The sheets on the bed were so lovely we actually ordered a set for home! Our last evening we walked up to the main building and enjoyed a glass of wine together in the tower. It was truly a rejuvenating and memorable experience that we will always treasure. Highly recommended! 5 Stars. I hope to return again.

My daughters and I were looking for an alternative vacation since our earlier vacation plans had to be cancelled. Iris Inn offered the perfect getaway! The scenery is breathtaking! Take Me Home Country Roads was on replay in our heads as we looked over the beautiful Shenandoah Valley everyday. Our cottages were beautifully decorated. Very cozy. I loved the idea of breakfast in a basket delivered to our rooms every morning. The meal was very generous and delicious! Check in was easy with the keypad entry. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Its nestled in the wooded mountains and seems so secluded but its very close to shops, wineries, breweries, hiking trails, and restaurants. I wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely be back again. I will highly recommend Iris Inn to friends and family. Thank you Iris Inn!

Great stay at the Iris Inn. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable, nice bathrooms. Having a mini kitchen is great for keeping snacks.Only complaint is that there is considerable road noise from any of the porches. Highway 64 is a few hundred feet. Can’t hear it when you’re inside, though!Very close to many restaurant options and stores on exit 94. Everything is less than 2 miles from the Inn.

Had a wonderful 4 day stay here ! Upon arriving we were greeted by a sweet woman offering help and answered all of our questions . Walking to our cabin you could see the beautiful mountains and gorgeous landscaping . Opened the door to the fire place on, was so cozy and inviting . Our 10 month old was so excited to be there, it was adorable ! She was squealing and walking around looking at everything, she loved the view from the windows as well . We went out to the screened in porch to be greeted by a bear about 10-12 feet away ! So crazy, only saw Yogi that one time .. I loved the bathroom, first time experiencing heated floors and my feet have definitely been missing out on that glorious feeling . I think to really complete the experience you should have heated toilet seats . Can you imagine that ?! The toiletries they supplied were lovely, I love the smell of lemongrass and it was very lemongrassy and fresh . Their face soap made my face feel and look better actually .Their shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel so soft and hydrated without being greasy . The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and cookware . Side note .. order their cookies, they were lightly crisp On the outside and soft in the center ️ Breakfast each morning was amazing, I meant to ask someone if I could have their recipe for the oatmeal, sounds like an odd request, but it was the best oatmeal parfait thing I’ve ever had . TheY offered a nice selection for breakfast each morning, just had to get the order in the previous evening . We checked out local antique shops . Was not disappointed with the antique factory .. you don’t even want to know how many hours we spent there, found some good treasures . We set up our baby’s pack in play across the room . It worked out perfectly, she was just as Excited to be there as we were. We toured the grand caverns as well, first time seeing caves and we were amazed, def check that out if you haven’t . Loved it here, sad we are leaving :/ told my husband we need to make this a tradition of going here, he agreed . Will definitely be back . The only thing about the whole stay that wasn’t my favorite was the bed .. it felt like you were sinking in the middle, didn’t have as much support as I would like .. also think we should book for cabin 4 that one seemed to have the best view . But all in all would definitely recommend to family and go again . So peaceful and nice change of pace

My husband and I are very pleased with our cabin experience at the Iris Inn. It’s definitely one of Virginia’s hidden gems. We didn’t even have to check in at the customer service desk, we used a security code to enter our cabin when we arrived. The cabins are beautiful. And the view is amazing. Love the screened in hot tub! This was the perfect getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Just remember to order your breakfast in bed delivery by 6:00 pm. We almost missed it!

Went a while ago and stayed in one of the private cabins. It was an absolutely beautiful and magical experience, we would really love to book again - But their prices have been raised so much that they have made it absolutely inaccessible. I understand needing to have the money to do renovations but $600/night for a WEEKNIGHT is absolutely astronomical and uncalled for. The renovations have taken away all of the country charm. I am so so so sad, but I will not be visiting again. Clearly the new owner only has money on the mind.

This trip was mountain getaway for my wife and myself and the iris inn did not disappoint. The cabins at this bed and breakfast have all that you need and go even further. The screened in porch with jacuzzi overlooks a stunning view of the mountains. The cabin itself has a modern feel (unlike a typical log cabin). The bathroom has heated floors to help keep you warm when you get out of the shower. The shower has a rainfall shower head. The staff at the inn are so friendly and will accommodate most requests. The complimentary breakfast is a must have... seriously. They cook a full breakfast menu each morning and do an excellent job! I give the iris inn an A+, well be back!!

Its very private, luxurious, and clean. They put a little treat in the fridge for us too. The cabins are all separate, but there is a nice paved walkway to walk on. We had breakfast in the main area, and it was so good. Just wish they served soda, but we still enjoyed it. The fireplace was perfect since it was cold when we stayed. My wife and I stayed in a cabin at the Iris Inn after our wedding. Take it from us that a stay here is a must for any newlywed couple, especially if youre getting married in the area. There is no better place in the valley to come down off of the wedding day adrenaline rush and recover from all the stress from your big day. The views from the cabin porch, or the lodge porches, are the most relaxing and breathtaking in the region. Alex, the General Manager, is the most passionate man in hospitality that you could meet. He goes above and beyond to accommodate the guests, loves serving couples wholeheartedly, and genuinely cares about the quality of your experience at the Iris Inn. That passion is reflected in the entire team, whom Alex loved to introduce to us (we met pretty much all of them). I dropped off some room decorations and a cooler of items early. Not only did the items make it into the room, but the team did decorating for us and even unloaded the cooler into the fridge. We had wine and cheese waiting for us, too. The experience was nothing short of royal. The cabin and lodge are impeccably clean, the food is delicious, and nothing beats sitting on the porch or in the hot tub experiencing the mountains. The Iris Inn is a must-stay both for wedding couples and anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

We stayed at this B&B for one night in the Bird Room, which is part of the main building. The hospitality, cleanliness and overall property was wonderful with two exceptions. We were pleasantly greeted as we entered and were given a brief overview of the property. Later we were assisted with eateries and points of interest. My girlfriend loved this property and was already talking about coming back within the first hour. The room was spacious, clean, view of the woods, sounds of birds, has a comfortable king bed and great shower with enough pressure to operate both showerhead and handheld at the same time. The main room has high ceilings, enough nature light, fireplace and a loft library. All of the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was satisfying, but had hoped for something unique or gourmet. The reason why we will most likely search for another place is due to our departing experience. We left an unopened bottle of wine in the refrigerator and didnt realize it until after we went on a hike up to Humpback Rocks (highly recommend for the view) and headed to the airport. Since we were 20 minutes past the Iris Inn, we called to ensure it was still there and let them know we were heading back. We were informed that it was in the office, however when my girlfriend went to pick up the wine, they told her they didnt have it and would have to check with the cleaning person. After she came back to our vehicle without the wine, I went in and was told they found it in the garbage. My expectation is that the B&B would have immediately notified their guest when they find a left item as they have the guest contact information. Also it is difficult to believe that a B&B that offers wine tastings would throw out a unopened bottle of wine (integrity concern). The other minor disappointment was that we has to clean the wine glasses in the room as they had grit and lip marks. Great place, but room for improvement.

There was such attention to detail and the views were my absolutely favorite - you couldnt beat sipping wine, on the back deck, from the hot tub, all while watching the beautiful sunset! We had neighbors but couldnt see or hear anyone, and the location is convenient to many great wineries (recommend Stable Craft Brewing), restaurants (recommend The Green Leaf), and attractions (recommend renting golf cart at Frontier Cultural Museum if waiting for wineries/breweries to open). The Inn has a library with an assortment of movies and games you can take you your room, we definitely took advantage of that. Excellent overall! Will definitely go back again

I went there to stay New Years Eve with my girlfriend. It was beyond my expectations. It is a great location and had an amazing view. The breakfast was fantastic. I recommend staying a few days, and I regret only staying one night. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I had no problems at all, but they were full of energy and very willing to assist with anything. If you are looking for a modern bed and breakfast this is the place to go. I shall return again. For those with electric cars, they have a car charging station as well.

Ive stayed at Iris Inn 3 separate times, and had the opportunity to stay in the main house, the cottage, and one of the cabins. By far the cabins are my top choice! Everything is done to perfection with thought given to all the details. The cabins are modern and funky (in a very good way), and even though there may be other cabins yards away, you would never know. Each cabin is its own private escape.

A wonderful experience! The cabins were just perfect, I would live or retire there if I could. There was plenty of room to lounge and relax, a private hot tub, nice shower, and a bathroom with heated floors to mention a few features. The staff were friendly and had plenty of information for things to do and places to eat (let take of helpful handouts to boot). There were even daily wine and beer tasting st 5:30pm with a selection of local goods. Their breakfast is prepared per person and also, if not mainly, comes from local farms. Nearby there is a road with multiple breweries and wineries, including a few with good food (thank you again Blue Mountain Brewery!). I recommend visited ng their site, giving them a call, or looking up things to do in the area as I cant possibly get to them all. Also of special note, my wife and I had an in room couples massage that was incredible! The therapists Robin and Amasa were professional and gave us one of the best massages, couple or not, we have had. We will happily book them on our next visit. The massage, hot tub, and tranquil atmosphere of the area culminated in the perfect romantic escape for my wife and I from the daily stressors of Northern VA. I would recommend this any day to friends or family.

My Husband and I stayed at the Iris Inn for our Mini-moon after we got married in April. It was amazing! We stayed in one of the Cabins and loved it! We had our own hot tub on the enclosed porch and had tons of privacy. The Staff was very welcoming and breakfast was so good! They serve breakfast until 9:30am and it was so worth it to get up early. I have already recommended the Inn to all of my friends. My Husband and I look forward to staying at the Iris Inn again!

The staff are super friendly and very accommodating. We got the sip and spa package which I caused an in room massage. The therapists were excellent! Our only critique would be to add a fire pit on the second floor balcony so the guests can lounge outside even in winter. Also, add to the spa package bath salts and candles.

We couldnt have been more happy with our stay at the Iris Inn. We were traveling to the area and had booked another B&B. After a friend STRONGLY recommended we stay at Iris Inn, we canceled our other reservation and booked at the Inn. The website with pictures of the stunning views overlooking the Shenandoah Valley was enough to convince us. We arrived to a very warm and friendly welcome from Dave, Heidi and their dog Katie. The views were even more beautiful in-person (we stayed in the Wall Flower room – it was gorgeous!) and each person we met at the Inn was friendly, welcoming and very sweet. Breakfast in the mornings was fantastic (we cleaned our plates every time!) and the wine in the evenings was a nice chance to wind down and meet other guests. We traveled to Charlottesville each day we were there (we had meetings and plans with friends) but the Inn was a very easy drive (a straight shot on 65). We would definitely recommend Iris Inn to any friends and family that are coming to the area. The room we stayed in was spacious, very well-kept, clean and nicely decorated – and had a wonderful west-facing balcony where you could enjoy the mountain air and watch the sun set in the evenings. We were very happy we ended up staying at Iris Inn!!

We stayed at the Iris in November of 2012. It was a wonderful visit; our room was spacious and well-kept. There is a beautiful view from the front porch, as well as an inside upstairs lounge. The Iris Inn is located within an easy drive to Charlottesville, and its close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The innkeepers were very friendly and accommodating-- I look forward to going back!

This was our second stay at the Iris Inn and look forward to returning in the future. Dave and Heidi set the standard when it comes to hospitality and accommodation. We stay in the cabins, and words can not express what a great experience weve had over the last couple of years. The staff are friendly and very much a part of what gives the Iris Inn its character. This is a Must Do location. Do yourself a favor and book a cabin for a few days. Its well worth it.

Wonderful stay. Our first B&B and it felt nice seeing the owners so engaged with their customers. All of the reviews give you a great hint but I strongly suggest visiting in person.

Turns out the bear cottage is under another rentable room. Which means you can hear each others romantic weekend, if you know what I mean. The water line runs right behind the wall behind the bed and you can hear the water run when the upstairs runs water. At 2:30AM I woke up to hearing a door open and I got up thinking it was to our cabin, but it was the upstairs neighbor. On the website they offer chocolate covered strawberries but you need to order those 24 hours before arriving, which isnt listed on the site. The concierge was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The view from the parking lot and lobby is really good. The kitchen staff were nice and the breakfast came out quick. The pancakes and eggs were very light and fluffy. They offer a wine tasting with cheese. The bear cabin had a steam option in the huge shower that worked as a sauna. They had heated floors in the bathroom and a jacoozi tub. There isnt a fan inside the seperated toilet and tub room. They had complimentary robes to wear and for purchase to take home. WiFi is available for free without sign in. The remote messed up half way through the night and it was a huge pain to fix (pretty sure I still didnt fix it).I want to give it a higher review, but neither of us slept well in the time we wanted to sleep and so we left feeling very tired.Im sure the separated cabins are much nicer and a better choice for someone who doesnt want to feel like they are in an apartment, but I honestly didnt see them as an option. I guess they were all rented out.Overall would I go back, Im not going back but I guess I would try another cabin.
