Friendly staff, some great exhibits and great price.
A treasure of Waukesha that not enough people see. Volunteers will research your family history, the history of a business or building, or other historical information. There is now a gorgeous event space designed by Chef Jack of Waukesha thats definitely worth consideration.
Im so happy to finally have visited Les Pauls permanent exhibition at the Waukesha County Historical Society and Museum coming all the way from NYC. Although a small gallery it is a very significant tribute from his birthplace of Waukesha, WI to a great guitarist, innovator and inventor and one can feel his presence throughout the different exhibits. I recommend and encourage history lover(s), admirers and musicians, as I am, to visit this significant and adjacent exhibitions when traveling through the Midwest.
It was a great experience, we had 3 groups of kids come into the Les Paul exhibit we played our hamonicas for them. Les first played the harmonica. Was a great time for all.
Im a big fan of Les Paul so that was the draw for me. A small but lovely journey through his endeavors as a innovator and incredible musician. Dont miss it.
2 very nice but small exhibits. Les Paul and one other. $7.50 is too much for just 2 exhibits and a postage stamp sized gift shop . Loved the Les Paul exhibit though, very complete history of his life.
The Led Paul exhibit is very informative. I hope the museum grows. It seems very small now.
Incredible resource with wonderful staff.
Currently undergoing renovation, the only exhibits that were available are the Les Paul and the summer of 2018 exhibition “Making Faces” featuring caricatures by artist John Kascht. Both were good, and I found the artist notes by Mr. Kascht very interesting as he described the process by which he creates a caricature. Worth a look, however I was expecting more, especially more about Waukesha county itself. Will be worth visiting in the future as renovations are completed.
It was small, not much to see, left you wanting more.
A truly great museum in the midst of major renovations within an historic former courthouse and jail, right in the heart of downtown Waukesha!
The Les Paul exhibit is most of what youll enjoy. Most of the rest is haphazardly assembled. Worth a look.
Beautiful and fun, love the historic features
Very interesting and friendly place to visit
Awesome exhibits!
