Great course not too far from Milwaukee. Definitely challenging for all levels. We had a group consisting of low handicaps as well as a high handicap and played from the blues. Everyone had holes that challenged their shot ability. Overall wasnt too long but this course definitely tests your ability to land shots off the tee box. If you can control your tee shot with low irons or woods you will score well. Enjoyed the way the land was developed and use of elevation. We were greeted and the course has nice facilities. We enjoyed our afternoon and will try to get back in the near future.

This place has the best fish fries. My family has never been disappointed!

The greens were in terrible condition. The ball bounced more then rolled. No beverage cart person all day after being told by 2 staff members someone was out. For the price that is ridiculous! Hard to justify wanting to go back

It is a beautiful course and plays true, but is it really worth $95 with cart on the weekends? Absolutely not.In my opinion Nagawaukee offers a better course at almost half the price.If you’re not concerned about money, then I suppose this is the place to go.

I live on the Illinois prairie, so as a golfer I love the fabulous contours this course has to offer. I only get to play there in an annual outing, but would like to play there more often.

They really deserve 10 stars! This is one of my favorite venues! I own a music company - we do a lot of weddings. As you can imagine we go to a lot of places. Often they do not have their act together. I personally have been involved in over 1,000 events and I can tell you this is a great venue! The staff cares - they are amazing. They really do their best to accommodate you. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I cant say enough about this venue. If you are holding a event - ask for Chrissy she is a sweetheart. She will make sure your day is flawless. I have worked with several wedding planners and event managers. She is by far one of the best I have worked with.

Absolutely love this course. Its challenging but there are a number of tee boxes to use if youre not quite up to the challenge. The clubhouse bar is nice with good food and friendly bartenders.My only issue is the price. $90 is pretty ridiculous to play golf here. I will play here over and over if I have coupons, but I cant see myself ever playing here for full price.It is awesome that you get free range time included with your round. Not many places do that.

I have golf here once before. Not a bad course. Issue is the guys in the club house. Not sure who i talked too but asked to play Sunday, said sure what time and how many golfers. Told him we had the Coupon from the Golf Digest Booklet, NOW all of a sudden there is no Tee Times and cant fit us in. I would NEVER pay $90 to play there as is as the course is not kept up very well. The Scenery is all that it has going for it.

The Friday fish fry was delicious! Ambiance was beautiful. The staff was great. Our waitress Kayla was delightful. My father is 90% deaf. She was kind, made sure to speak slowly and clearly so that he could understand. My folks attend the fish fry about once a month and it was sweet that the staff (high school and college age kids) went out of their way to welcome them. The staff rememered what my parents favorites were and made my mom and dad feel like they were really special. Nice job to the staff!

One of the better golf courses in the area

A few organizations I am a member in host their annual golf outings here. Ive been to 5 at Morningstar. The course is an enjoyable one, good for novices to experts alike. Its well maintained and is beautiful. The clubhouse is nice and has a little shop attached. The food for events is always a hit and no one leaves hungry. I look forward to events at this establishment. An overall great place.

Beautiful golf course and it was in good condition. The only reason I didnt give it 5 Stars was in the bar the one bartender needed help as she was the only person there. I will say she was doing the best she could and it definitely was not her fault. But to wait 15 minutes (or more) to get a hot dog on the turn is way too long. The beverage cart girls were very prompt and we did see them often.

Great fish fry. They have both batter fried and baked fish and they are one of the places that have potato pancakes!!! They take reservations too!!!

I loved this golf course. The course is in very good condition and has a lot of scenic views and elevation. Youll use every club in your bag here. The course may be a little pricey but its well worth it. Enjoy the views on Holes 7 and 17. Overall Id probably come back here sometime

Never played golf here, but Ive been here for dinner numerous times. Clubhouse had a great feel. Food is always good and staff is friendly.

This was the worst fish fry I have ever had! We waited over two and a half hours to eat and there was 7-10 open table. When we received our food it was basically cold. The fish was not crispy! And it also took about 45 minutes for our son to receive his hot dog and French fries. I do not think I will ever be back to this restaurant for fish fry.Ps it was not our waitresses fault she did good it was everything else

Amazing place, best place on Earth! The people are nice and understanding and they do an outstanding job. The greens are perfect and the course is in perfect condition. I dont know what Joel is talking about when it comes to customer service, but this is a harder course that you need to be experienced for. If its your third time golfing, a course like Morning Star will be extreamly difficult. Agian, I absolutely love this course and would recommend it to everybody that golfs.

Wasnt at Morningstar, was actually involved in an accident because of a woman who stopped completely on Hwy XX just over the hill.

Other than a few greens on the front nine, the course was wonderful.

Updating my review on this course, just played Aug 2018. Still a 2 star review. Course conditions are awful for a $90+ round of golf. Most greens have a disease on them and about half the fairways are in rough shape. Bunkers are more rocks than sand. Pace of play wasn’t as bad as it usually is, we did not get backed up until #11. Great layout, it’s really a shame that the owners do not keep the golf course up.

Hard to hear all of these idiots give bad reviews. Golf is a classy sport. If you show up to a semi-private course dressed like an idiot and can barely golf. Go elsewhere. This is one of the best available semi public courses in the Milwaukee area. Course is nice and he staff has always been great. On my way there now. Cant wait for the nice young man to meet me at my car with a cart. Cheers haters.

We went in on a Friday night and the bar had customers and tables were open in the dining room --- When we approached the hostess station a hostess said be right with you as she was seating other customers, people we knew. After that we were ignored by both that hostess and 2 others that arrived at the hostess stand. After 10 minutes of no one saying anything to us and the hostesses folding napkins we asked about getting seated. Response was Oh, it will be 30 minutes - we are shorthanded. We adked ehy they didnt say anything earlier they just shrugged their shoulders. When we asked to speak with their mgr. They responded that the mgr eould be available in 30 minutes. We left and have filed a complaint with the course manager.

Good food and great service. Course was on great shape.

We ordered fish Frys to go,pick up in half hour. I arrived on time gave the young lady my name. She looked like she saw a ghost,eyes got wide, mouth dropped, oops she forgot to pass the order to the kitchen. Sorry you have to wait. While I stood there it was obvious this young lady was in over head,it appears the majority of the help were school kids with out training or adaquit supervision. I would say a management failure was occuring. On the bright side, the food was pretty good.

Beautiful vistas! Challenging course but not overly difficult. Great practice facilities. Well placed fairway bunkers, I found myself in them a couple times on the back nine. It was nice to see Rangers on the course maintaining pace. Foursomes let us (two players) play through three times.My two issues with Mormimgstar are:1) That the greens were in really bad condition. I understand they were areated within a week and thats not my issue. They were really beat up. The second green had several big patches of bare mud on the green within six feet of the hole. I have to question the hole placement on that one. The whole course needed tlc, but most of all the greens.2) Bunkers full of rocks. There seem to be two kinds of bunkers here. The bunkers you see at most courses in SE WI, and the kind of bunker you woul see in AZ. All of the bunkers are full of rocks ranging from marble sized to a little smaller than a golf ball. I found myself having to clean around my ball to avoid damaging a club. I was only in the bunker twice but I looked at them when passing by. All just as rocky.Other than these two issues I found people there to be friendly and courteous, staff and patrons. Fun layout. Carts required for good reason.About me:I golf 100+ 18 hole rounds per year. There are 2-3 courses that I play 5 times per year. Most places I play 1-3 times per year. I am a bogey golfer counting every stroke, no mulligans, no foot wedge, play it where it lies or take penalty strokes.

Have been here 2 times now and think very highly of Morningstar. Its a very picturesque course and the 4sum twilight special they run on the weekends is a phenomonal deal. Course is challenging. So if your a beginning golfer then it may not be the course for you. Lots of trouble to be had. I have had nothing but wonderful service there and the course itself is amazing and very fun layout. Only gripe i have is some of the greens and around the greens need some work. And thats mostly from a course that is played a lot and is always jam packed. Lot of people failing to repair divot marks n tearing up parts of some of the greens. And also pace of play can be slow at times. But the overall course itself n layout is awesome.. And regardless of handicap it is sure to challenge your abilities. I recommend Morningstar. But only if you are somewhat of a decent golfer as its not a course for a beginner. With all that said Morningstar is alot of fun to play. And some amazing views. Get out there n see for yourself!

Good Layout, average conditions, priced high for the course conditions

A group of 4 of us took advantage of a Saturday afternoon deal preceded by a lunch in the clubhouse. We were playing slower than the group behind us and let them play through on the 2nd hole. After that, we were continuously harassed by the rangers to hurry-up. We were approached at the end of the 2nd hole, and again at the tee box of the 3rd hole. Micheal Crowley was one of the rangers and was very rude. He told us to pick up some of our shots as to not give the people behind a heart attack. If Morningstar doesnt want newer golfers trying to learn the game on their course then make it private, or make a minimum handicap. We had one person in our group who it was their 3rd time ever golfing, and first time on a new course. Morningstars rangers were nothing but discouraging to a person new to golf. They were smothering us until the 9th hole, parking their carts with ours and watching us tee off, then following us down the course, making comments along the way. We felt harassed the entire time and several times asked them to leave. The staff ruined what was supposed to be a nice day of family, golf, and fun. It turned into a stressful, frustrating, and miserable time as long as the rangers were around. This is NOT a course to try and learn the sport. I have played at many different courses, both public and private, and I have NEVER been treated this poorly. I will never return to Morningstar and I will never recommend the course to anyone I know. There are far better courses for a better price, with better staff. Non-members are treated like garbage. Save your money and try out another course.
